In this video we look at a very important hormone, Antidiuretic Hormone (ADH). We will talk about how water is reabsorbed in the nephron. The descending limb of the loop of Henle reabsorbs water only, while the ascending limb absorbs ions. The collecting duct requires the hormone, ADH, to reabsorb any water. Water balance is primarily regulated through this hormone. We look at what happens when we are "over" hydrated and also how the kidneys handle dehydration.
