Mike Patrick. Probably the most underrated/unknown commentator ever. He did ESPN Sunday Night Football in the 90’s. He’s my absolute favorite next to Kevin Harlan.
I come back to this video once a year, when we're almost ready to start watching college football again. I'm not even a VT fan but this gives me chills and tears. College football is the best.
Yooo i remember when yall came to tech and we won with a pass from tyrod to dyrell roberts in the last minutes. I was one of the folks that rushed the field. But what always sticks with me is the Nebraska fans after the game. Yall were downtown just having a good time with us at the local bars. I have a soft spot for Nebraska ever since. Such a class act fan base. I hope you are doing well these days Dan, my brotha!
I was there and it was absolutely electrifying , also like was mentioned already, Nebraska fans were awesome at the game and also downtown enjoying themselves, great group . I have actually kept in touch with a few guys I was randomly drinking with, .
@@BAMA-2019 Recruits aren't typically thinking of titles. They're thinking of how can this program benefit ME? This atmosphere and energy would definitely go a long ways towards sniping top tier talent.

If your the opposing quarterback it must suck to be you. But years down the road you can look back on it and say damn College football was the greatest times of my life because of moments like these. I’m sure Jacory Harris till this day will remember this moment and share this with his kids.

I have watched this clip 100 times over the past many years. This ALWAYS gives me chills! #EnterSandman! Simply Spectacular!! #CollegeFootballAtItsBest!
i wish the announcers would have let the viewer enjoy the moment, instead of talking over it with useless observations....need to take lessons from VIn Scully
You've clearly never been to a game in Lane Stadium. Much less a Thursday night rivalry game Edit: This moment that you are saying was mediocre, put this stadium on the fucking richter scale. Blacksburg is the epicenter of college football
I'm a Die hard Buckeye fan but am 100% going to a VTech night game..... I wish I could have went when the Bucks played the Home/Home. When full one of the best crowds anywhere!!!!
I've gone to almost every VT home game since 1999... what's crazy is this may be the second loudest VT game I've attended at Lane... 2011 vs Miami was insane, but 2003 vs Miami was beyond insane... too bad we didn't have HD TV back then to truly capture that insanity, but it has always been the top for me being there live
I know this video is old and as a big metallica fan this Makes me happy that college students enjoying the song playing in the background and I don't even watch college football

So you guys that can't take a joke know, he's just acting like that's what that black guy is thinking in that moment. lol It was funny. Just there were no quotation marks. Maybe you'll understand it like this,"This white music ain't too bad!" as you watch him getting into it.
Miami: *wants to talk about it*
Virginia Tech: “No”
Virginia Tech- “your in to never never land!”
Run!
Two thumbs up to the guy who knew to play the song at the right time!!!
I think he deserves more then just two thumbs up he deserves a raise
Rodie Rooster he needs more than a raise
agreed - it was an absolute genius move

Yeah
I would give anything for this atmosphere to exist in the NFL

They already sell out the stadium every game.

zachwhitlow4 ^
100% truth !!!
Always has been. Always will be. It's personal
If College football just had better consistency with matchups it would be great. Every week in NFL is highly competitive. Not so much in college.
Someone on an NFL team needs to get the fanbase to start doing this
2023 and this was still a cold blooded move by the staff at lane stadium. I’m a Miami fan and that eruption by the crowd was awesome.
Only 66 thousand stadium but they sound like one of those Europe soccer stadiums. Amazing what Metallica can do!!
that was the most lit crowd ever and playing that song after the game was over was pretty freakin genius
Almost 8 years later I still get the chills
I've been to a lot of college football venues..God has a special place in his heart for a place like this. welcome to "The Lane."

I was there and the stadium was literally shaking!
Love the defensive lineman and linebacker head banging as they walk back out on the field.
BEST. GAME. EVER. I STILL remember the excitement in the stadium that day! Exhausting perfection!!!! :)

There’s literally NOTHING that beats the Enter Sandman entrance for me. Virginia Tech class of 2006
Probably the closest in the NFL is the Chiefs' Tomahawk Chop.
Lmao the second that song came on it was over
Lane Stadium: though not the biggest venue in cfb it certainly contains one of CFBs loudest crowds
I was able to go to a game in 2019 and really want to get back. Awesome experience, everyone is super nice.
