- What's going on everybody Rob here with a little video on my 20 V weed Wacker. This is a review of my craftsman 20 V weed Wacker well some you people calling weed eaters but I more or less think they whack the weed instead you eating the weed LOL either way I'm sold out to craftsmen and their 20 V system. I have a bunch of Craftsman 20 V accessories because I have four craftsmen 20 V batteries. Therefore I bought this to craftsmen 20 V weed Wacker or craftsmen 20 V weed eater. I bought it because I get tired of fighting with the gas when trying to get the gas when started therefore I just went ahead and bought this electric one. Now I will tell you it does not have the power of a gas weed Wacker or a gas weed eater. But if you have a regular residential size property this will get the job done. I do not use more than one battery with this craftsmen weed Wacker I am able to get all the lines that I want around the edges of the grass and I whacked down all the grass that sticks up high along the side of the garage. I am sold-out to this Craftsman weed Wacker. In the beginning it took a while for me to get used to because like Tim the tool man Taylor I am used of the gas powered beer motors. But I will tell you it is a lot easier just to push a button and go and that's what I get with this craftsmen weed Wacker. Thanks for watching,
Rob here a.k.a. Trev2323
I had one of these given to me this spring. I’m an avid stihl guy and have quite a bit of stihl commercial equipment including weedeaters. I threw this in the garage and never gave it a second thought. I was bored one night in the garage and put the battery on charge and took it with me the next day to weedeat at my other property around my cabin. I was actually impressed how well it done I was able to do everything on a single charge. This will be my weedeater from now on at the cabin. They have their place for some this is all they need. Now will it keep up with my commercial stihl ones? No but that’s not what it was designed for.
As a female who only needs it to go a walkway this is wonderful for me. I bought it yesterday and zero hassle with gas and so much stress. Watched this while waiting on my battery to charge
Same here. Am about to step out and use mine for the first time.
You can also twist the handle to use it for edging. No need to hold it sideways.
I hate my Craftsman 20 V weed eater. Has not fed line since the day I bought it. Bought new Craftsman line spools and stil no feed. Trash time for this one. Never had anything I could not fix. This one beat me....
My first one fed. Died eventually - my BRAND NEW doesn't feed - pretty p!ssed.
Thank you sooo much for this video, needed this real quick👍🏻
you are so very welcome I'm glad it helped
Just picked this up with a free reciprocating 20v saw at lowes’s. Glad I saw your video to watch while I’m waiting for the battery to charge 😅
I just bought one and got it today. Easy to assemble. Thanks for the instruction on how to start it. I am charging my battery now. I see from the comments I need to get more batteries. This was a very helpful video. I am a 71 year old female and wanted something lightweight and easy to use. Didn't want to deal with the gas type and pulling to start it. especially since gas is so expensive now. This is really good for my small yard. Thanks so much!
Well... I am a 'female', old lady female LOL, and it looks to be exactly what I'm looking for. Your review sold me. Thank you!
lightweight for us women
I'm 61y chubby female, so far I've had no issues. I use same model it light wt and it's way easier than pushing my self propelled mower, on my steep but small slope.
It's fantastic. My 85 year old mom won't give it back.
Plan on buying this weed-eater next spring, better than gas models, the battery volt models are decently quiet but still works well from the reviews.
It definitely is not as powerful as the gas ones BUT my shoulder couldnt take all the pulling just to start them.
Hello Chicago far NW side here. Good tool and good review. Take care bro!
Female here. Got one and had to see how these things work. Thank you
Your welcome for my property I love it.. I hates starting the gas one. I do mine and my neighbors property so I am going to start buying a spool of .065 and start relining it myself to save money
I bought this one and sent it back. The line feed doesn't work, it has a design flaw. It's got this little spring and hook mechanism inside the line spool housing that is supposed to pull the spool back each time it advances by a gear tooth. The spring is too weak for its intended purpose and as a result the line doesn't feed out when you press the line feed button. If it's a model that doesn't have the line feed button, it's supposed to feed out every time you start it up spinning. Either way, it doesn't work. I saw a lot of reviews of this product and they all said the same thing: line feed doesn't work. I'd recommend getting the brushless model that Craftsman makes with the bump head instead of this one. The brushless motor lasts longer and also provides more power using the same 20V battery and the bump head works better.
@@RobHereAKATrev2323 I guarantee you, that line feed will stop working very soon.
@@artvandelay8090 Spot on!
@artvandelay8090 Well thank you. Your comment is 3 years old but I am going to be attentive to the equipment I just bought yesterday, 4.29.2024. If I can't figure out how to better use this weedwhacker, I will return it hopefully and purchase a better model with all working parts. Again, many thanks for your comment. Blessings!
Thanks bunches. Great review. Just purchased one yesterday and couldn't figure out how to get the string to feed. Thought it was operator error. 😂 Actually pulled it apart to manually pull more out then cut excess. And, you are right about that safety button. I have never used equipment to maintain yard. Usually find myself crawling around on hands and knees pulling up weeds. 🥵 Too much!! Again, your review is very helpful. I may not have to return it after all. Blessings!
I’ve just spent an ungodly amount of time trying to figure out why all the line feeds out, it turns out this little plastic thing is broken inside the feeder mechanism, which means that due to the small little part, I’m going to have to get a new Weedwhacker, but I can tell you it won’t be from craftsman
Nice video. I'm not sure if you noticed, but that pull to unlock thingy that lets you extend the length. It also lets you lock in the head upside down or sideways for edging. That should make pulling that $#!% safety catch mutch easier, since you don't have to flip the handle upside down and all over the place.
MUCH easier. Although now I want to start spelling it mutch.
Put the "red metal guard" down to do edging. (Use as a guide along the ground)
Lol when he first edged I was like nooooo made me cringe lol …
Just purchased mine, thank you!
I love mine. Nice and light.
Yes it's awesome for what I need
You can adjust it to have it stand sideways to edge instead of hold it sideways
I got 1 today for the same reason . And I don't want to pay the gardener 120 bucks a month.
Battery last maybe 20min on a full charge. 😩
Mine lasted 45 minutes
think this is gonna be right up my alley. I don't need it for much, should be perfect
How do you turn it on⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️
Thank you!, great review 👍
I super glued the safety switch pushed in it’s helps a lot not having to hold that damn switch down lol but I love this thing only thing is the auto feed I’m not a fan
You absolute mad lad
Damn this or blower with free tool
I do want the blower I still have my corded black and decker blower
Great video man appreciate it!
I just put mine together today before watching the video. I thought the string attached and I guess it just hangs there .
The shaft rotates for edging 😂
I knew this was Chicago by the houses lol
I have the same weed eater can you tell me how to put a brush cutter on it
OMG I didnt even know they had that attachment
Bought one try it a few times batteries las no more than 10 max 15 minutes
You have the 2ah battery you need the 5ah for the best performance I guess.. I use gas equipment
PLEASE. post the model numbers of items that you review. There are many and this is not the one that I put in my search engine on RUclips. Listing the model number would save us watching ones that are not what we wanted.
Thanks
i loved the push button feed model, but that stopped working. I could edge so fast. I have three models, an auto feed that feeds out too much, one that doesn't feed, and the push button feed that stopped working. I really like them, they're light, and i was able to get all jobs done with it. Time to move on. 3 trimmers with no feed system. I'm tempted to get another push button feed, that's how much i like them. Undecided. Might go kobalt 15", but then i'll have the craftsman batteries not being used.
It’s weird how the button stops the machine when operated… I have to lightly press the feed button in order to work..
@@matthewsalvador9783 Yes, i noticed the motor stopping too. I thought i should read the manual; it might to stop it first, then hit the button. I'm too lazy to read it. I got another one (push button feed) I have to hit it five times sometimes, but so far, so good 👍
Thank you for the review. I appreciate it a lot may I ask now that you have had awhile would have upgraded or stayed at 20v I am looking to buy something for my home edging would like your feed back.
I had one took it back to lowes 2 days after getting it new. That fucking thing sucks. Got the ryobi one works better.
I have one and it works great especially with a bigger battery but now my problem is it's feeding the line too much or too fast and the spool isn't lasting they way it used too the spool runs out like in 10 minutes. Any thoughts of this problem?
Thanks
Fuel? Oil and gas or just gas?
oil and gas now just battery My shoulder couldnt take pulling that gas weed wacker anymore
Thanks!
I have one! I took my guard off
He must not know that the shaft and rotate to turn into a edger
No I don’t know this either how do I make it edge?! Lol
thanks. used my female neighbor's for a bit. fit my physic and could save me from bending as i do everything by hand.
How long does the battery last?
That battery sucks it's a 1.5 AH (amp hour)
What string do I need to get?
So I saw two different reviews, one with the red lever plopped forward when cutting and yours cutting while the red lever is pulled back. Is there a right or wrong way or is it safe to use either way? (The red lever on the head of it)
I have a Kobalt, but my neighbor uses that to help with spacing when cutting around his trees and edging.
it's prollie 65thousanths..and a bump head also the bar thing is prollie a guide..to help you.-
I am taking mine back to Lowe's ..this thing is junk.
Do you have to hold the safety on or does it lock in place
you have to hold it. it's a little hard. i might tape mine down bc it makes my hand tired
@@cheferin I taped mine down today, it helps as I don't have much strength in my hands.
MORE POWER UGH UGH UGH!!!!
What is the run time on low?
According to the box, 20 minutes
@@rmeadows94rm with a 2.0mah battery??
Life
Is this better than Ryobi?
It’s hella lot lighter then the roybi I!!!
How long does it take for a battery to fully charge when you first buy it. and how long does it last? thanks.
It takes anywhere from 20-30 minutes at least for the battery to fully charge, but you only get about 20 minutes (at most) from each battery. If you're looking to buy, I'd recommend getting 2-3 batteries and making sure they're on the charger while you're weedeating so you can hotswap them on the fly.
@@chaylaforte I just got one and was able to go like 10 minutes and it was dead. So now I have to head back to Lowes and buy more batteries!!!!
I may return it an just buy a gas powered one.
I bought this for my girlfriend for her place. Her liberal friends give her shit about burning fossil fuels. I use my gas powered in secrecy.
It’s okay to say if they’re a woman. We know they’re physically weaker. It’s a scientific fact and it’s okay we men don’t mind and we’ll take care of the yard work anyways. Single ladies are on their own though. 😅😀
You probably live in your moms basement 😂

Sorry to hear that. 520 Volt batteries that are craftsman batteries so I guess I'm sticking with craftsman LOL twice in the packages of string I have bought the little plastic clips were broken. Would I have started to do was just reline my own thimbles I guess you can call them with . 065 thread myself
Thanks
