Ok but imagine this: in an alternate universe, the original Gen 4 games feature Volo from the start. We only see him as another character, but in the actual pokemon story universe, Volo pulled a reverse Ingo after losing to Akari/Rei, travelling forward to present-day Sinnoh. He poses as Cynthia's estranged brother to cover up the fact that he's a time traveller, only to join forces with Team Galactic, posing as Cyrus' right hand man in trying to capture Dialga/Palkia but only because he needs their technology, manpower and money to ultimately summon Arceus once again. In order to beat the game, Lucas/Dawn has to defeat Volo just like their ancestor did in Hisui, but because this is an alternate version of 2006, beating Volo's team and then also Giratina is ten times harder because there's no fairy type and no automatic exp. share, so you really, really have to work for your victory. Like, remember how many times you lost to Cynthia and had to battle the elite 4 over and over again and take down loads of wild pokemon before you could even hope to stand a chance? Oh yeah, it's gonna be like that all over again. Volo will interact with the player character throughout the game, like Cynthia does, starting as nice and helpful, but then being real spiteful the further the story progresses because all he can see in them is the 15 year old brat who took him down 200 years ago. But we, as players, don't know why he's so mean because PLA doesn't exist yet, so we write him off as another villain character, probably bash him in forums and social media for being so poorly written and unnecessarily hateful. And then we find this all out in an alternate 2022 when we meet him again in PLA and come to understand his obsession with Arceus and hatred for Lucas/Dawn that he displayed in the earlier games. Yeah, this version of his theme sounds so official that I went out of my way to take time and think of a way to integrate Volo into the originals just because I would do anything to hear this version and see that sprite in action within a real game. It's that good.

If Volo is a Gen 4 character, I'd say the Sinnoh's plot will change a lot. it will be similar to Unova and Alola stories. In BW2, Ghetsis is the main villain, his right hand is Colress and N is his relative who against on his plans. In SM, Lusamine is the main villain, her right hand is Guzma and Lillie is her relative who against on her plans. Then, in Sinnoh, Volo is the main villain, his right hand is Cyrus and Cynthia is his relative who against on his plans.
A very terrifying thought is if black and white remakes have a side quest to bring back our man Ingo so he can reunite with Emmet is someway Volo gets transported to the current day Unova region you beat him but then Ghetsis appears and you either have a two v one no healing or N appears and it's a two v two still no healing. The battle could take place in either the giant chasm or in the rubble of N's castle. If they wanted to make it very unfair both of them get a full team of six. Give Ghetsis black or white kyurem based on what version and volo give him his true ace Garatina. After you some how win this battle their could be a cut scene of Volo begin dragged to the distortion world while their could be a mass of energy once black or white kyurem de combine. As well volo could just be sent back to the creation of the universe. This how they could integrate a Volo battle in gen 5 remakes because I love the volo battle and gen 5.
This should occur right after Dragonspiral Tower, but BEFORE we get the chance to catch Kyurem, go talk to Emmet in Anville Town, basically do what Drayano did in SGSS and collect every plate, go to the Entralink, (multiversal shenanigan reasons) and defeat Arceus thus bringing Ingo back and Volo with him, N catches wind of the plan and follows us before to warn us about Ghetsis' curiosity about being able to capture Arceus, while Volo sees the same eyes he saw in Rei/Akari thus the reason he wants to fight, later on we tell Emmet about what happened and he gives us three "Strange stones" he found, goes back to the Battle subway with Ingo, who also offers us Hisuian Sneasel, Braviary, Basculigeon, Ursaluna, Kleavor, Lilligant, Zoroark, and Electrode (and whatever I missed from PLA) later it is revealed that those stones Emmet gave to us are actually the stones for Origin Dialga, Palkia and Giratina (This could also work as a way to end the plot of B3/W3) As for Volo, he is trapped here and is in Caitlin's Villa with Cynthia and she tells him about Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh, he tells her about his plan, she tells him about Cyrus, and she took a bit of pity on him after losing his old home and friends (if he had any) and you get the chance to do another double battle with them weekly, and Ghetsis ends up in Hisui, thus beginning the events of Pokémon Legends: Kyurem where he tries to capture the original dragon which I hereby dub "Zekyuram" I should go to sleep

And then after one of there team gets knocked out, red comes in and replaces them
I've seen a few of these "demakes" of Volo's theme on yt and none of them have really captured the essence of Cynthia or Volo properly. You, my friend, have encapsulated both perfectly. Fantastic job.
The thing that makes volo so hard is that the new speed mechanics makes sweeping so much more difficult since nearly everything gets revenge killed which makes the giratina shadow forces that much more threatening since you get worn down in the initial fight
I have a theory that Volo is not only Cynthia's ancestor but also ancestor of Lusamine. He might as well not be the direct ancestor of Cynthia but a cousing of Cogita who propably has adult kids at the time of the game events. It's not confirmed who he is to Cogita but their relationship is complicated. They might know each other like family members they don't act like a mother and a son, more like a clever aunt and abnoxious, mentally unstable nephew. After we defeat him he met with Laventon then proceeded to travel somewhere else never to be found again. Perhaps to another region like Alola. - He looks similar to the Aether family - likes to cosplay the Pokémon he's obsessed with - swore he will eventually meet Arceus (or Giratina) even if it would take him generations - meanwhile (or 200 years later, whatever) Lusamine proceeds to create an abomination similar to Arceus that was made to kill creatures as powerful as gods (well the UBs lack godlike powers but their stats are godlike so it's close enough)
Mfw in 18th Century Alola, Lusamine's ancestor kidnaps Solgaleo and Lunala in order to draw out Necrozma and get them to summon the UBs. Shit that sounds like a good Legends: Necrozma idea.

@@riskyworks Giratina isn't really his pokemon, it's more "partner in crime" rather than his pokemon. Hence its so powerful (caught Pokemons, especially legendary ones get weaker once caught)

mostly having Calm Mind/Bulk Up, Thunderwave, and possibly Hypnosis to help makes it easier like it did for me

there's something off with this sprite. either he's not 64x64, he's past the color limit of 16, or both...
Both, I just chose whatever colors I wanted. Gen 4 sprites are actually 80x80 though and this sprite is 83x83 so it's pretty close lol.
