      Also against the FEI's rules... oh, wait, never mind, that's right. They took that one out when people started to complain. Don't worry, though, equine welfare is their TOP priority, never mind all the studies that say that trash does short and long term damage to the horse.

    The horse is practically dragging his back feet in the extended trot. She's not asking him to engage his abs or hindquarters. You can always tell, when the horse's neck is practically at a right angle to the back, because the withers haven't lifted

    It irks me that while some people have the ability to ride far better than I can, they constrict the horses movement and practise Rollkur. Also the horse looked quite tense. I am not qualified to criticise but it should be possible to maintain a certain amount of relaxation . Like you might see in elite human athletes.

  • @Mel-x7m
    @Mel-x7m 13 дней назад +26

    Yeah, agreeing with the comment below. The FEI constantly ignores the rules it is governed by and one thing you will see constantly is this over breaking at the poll which of course causes the horse to be travelling with it's face WAY behind the vertical. They just ignore it. And you can go ANYWHERE on YT and find trainers that are showing that you can work with a horse. gain "collection" and beauty in movement without any bridle, bit saddle nor, in fact do you even have to be riding them to achieve these results. Why don't they? It will take too long and too much time actually bonding with the horse. If you are competing you want results NOW. Ergo shortcuts that these people competing are not being called out on. It is time to put the horses need before your own, after all, they are the ones willing to work with you and perform. Go out and do that without a horse, see how far you'll get.

    Yup, they rigged it.
    And they dgaf because there are not going to be consequences.
    The head bobbing, the broken extended trot, the nearly lateral walk, the canter on the forehand, the "asymmetrical too short in front" frame, and all the serious faults of nowadays "DrESsAgE".
    Yet Helix still seems to enjoy moving to the music.

    The entire test was horrifically ridden. The horse is required to perform far above its actual ability. Remember, being able to execute a movement does not make a horse ready to compete at the level.
    But that's beside the point. You questioned the corruption within the FEI. Well, i was never involved with the FEI. However, I was involved at the national level within the national governing body, and let me be the one to tell you that all equestrian bodies, at all levels, are corrupt to a criminal level. I walked away when I saw evidence of athletes and / or owners paying for wins. There needs to be external investigations into these equestrian bodies.

What happened to training at home and bringing the horse out when he’s actually ready? I guess they get the big prizes, and that’s the only thing they care about? Why bother learning how to properly train a horse to collect when you can get through the test and win a ribbon? Fancy horses really do cop a raw deal in dressage.

    • @fredakvesic1762
      @fredakvesic1762 14 дней назад +27

      No, it wasn't a trot. The trouble with head-pulled-in reining is that doesn't only affect the horse's mouth, with blue tongue and bleeding, and neck, which affects their breathing and natural body carriage; it also affects their chest muscles and foreleg gait so they can't position their front bodies correctly, trot properly or lift their legs high. If the horse isn't relaxed, it's not going to have good presentation. Frankly, this kind of training should be banned and riders and trainers fined. I'd like to see more classical dressage training again and even that needs modernising.

      Gal started a "trend" by using carriage horse shoes on Toto.
      It became "fashionable" to have the front legs elevate excessively (and disproportionately to the hind legs) and snap forward.
      The judges scored that nonsense high, and the public thought that crippled movement to be "bEaUtIfUl."
      In a video from the 2012 Olympics, Salinero displays that movement as well.
      Breeders began to breed for that as well :(

    Oh dear, the poor guy’s neck was so compressed and tense. When you get the poll that high and then pull the face back to the vertical you put excessive pressure on the windpipe. That is one reason why you do not see Saddleseat park horses ridden on the vertical. It puts more weight on the forehand and tends to constrict action as well. There is plenty to criticize with the Saddleseat style but at least the canny riders don’t force the vertical. It is also true that very few horses have the conformation to carry the neck so the poll is the highest point and achieve the required bend in the throat latch. If you look at the pictures of the dressage riders from traditional places like Saumer in the middle decades of the 20th century only in the piaffe did the horse’s profile approach the vertical.

    A major gripe I have about this whole thing is that NOBODY at this level should do something as stupid as turning in the wrong version of their music!! We are at the very top level of the sport and there is a certain expectation that it should be important enough to the athlete, owner, trainer, whoever to turn in the correct music. I was never a rider to this level but I was a figure skater who had a coach with no qualms telling me it was my fault if my skates came unlaced, or if I forgot to get the skates sharpened at the appropriate time. At this level, the only mistakes that should be allowed are those that are completely out of the control of the rider and her team such as a ceiling tile falling from the arena roof or a false fire alarm. Turning in the correct version of the music is a human error and a no brainer.

    As explanations come out about this freestyle, I think you owe Adrienne an apology. You must not be familiar with how the music uploading works for CDI competitions: You upload a digital music file via Equestrian Hub (it must be uploaded prior to the jog) and the announcer then downloads the files onto his computer to play for the freestyle night. Adrienne uploaded the correct music, as the show management confirmed. But because they keep the uploaded music on the computer they accidentally played the music used at the last show. If she had uploaded the incorrect music she would not be allowed to stop but it was an error on the on the side of show management, not the rider. Adrienne changed the choreography of the middle of the freestyle and had new music adjusted to fit it. It would not work to continue with the choreography while riding to similar music but which wouldn't match it at all. In addition, the new/correct music uploaded had subtle changes to the beginning, with piaffe from 17 steps to 12 steps. She didn’t realize the problem at first-the error became clearer as she rode further into the freestyle. The FEI rules were followed completely.
    When you make a false accusation, you owe it to all concerned to acknowledge it .

    In my opinion to be fair to all they should all be able to restart. One or the other. Why did she get a second go?

    Her sponsors are very rich. I suspect they paid someone off. Absolutely awful test!! Janet Foy is the worst judge.

      All the top dressage is a rich cheating scheme

    I've never ridden dressage but have always loved it. I do own horses and ride western. This horse looks so uncomfortable. To me it's obvious that he's not ready to compete at this level. I hate how so many of my favorite sport event to watch are being rigged.
