It's really interesting that you should mention Jung as I've been reading one of his books, Man and His Symbols, and it's been illuminating, very much recommends it. I'm compelled to write something because around minute 20ish, you mention that not listening to your inner self is something that could get you stuck in the wheel of fortune, it's exactly what Jung preaches - listening to your inner self.

Please expand on why you prefer to not use Whole Sign Houses, John. It's something I'm struggling with in my studies

I have to be brief here, but three reasons. Whole sign houses were perhaps the original method, and that's ok and people want to work with the original system, but it's kind of going backwards to a period that no longer exists, so let's not bother. Back then, people didn't know what time it was - it was mid-mrning, ok, but 10.12 am or 10.56 am, so if you don't know, use whole signs. Nowadays, we know the time and can use Placidus and Koch, depending on what sort of information you want. Whole signs are too general - it's like saying you were born in England so you speak English. Ok, tell me something I don't know. What abvout the Polish and Italian I speak at home with my parents? Also, decanates matter and give extra and important information, as do degrees, but you don't get that with whole sign. I could go on, but I'll be giving examples when I start my Substack astrology letter.
