    I recently bought the A7Cii. Haven't got to use it very much yet, but the little I've been shooting, the 7 stop IBIS seems very good. Combined with the compact size, I can easily take 1 second or more handheld captures. And that thing can see in the dark. Looking forward to spending more time with it 😊

    I found the comment "if you have some spare money" shows being out of touch. The a7cii is 2200, the Sony 35mm pancake is 600, the x100vi has 4 degree nd filter that's another 200. Maybe 1400 is "spare money" to you. I'm not saying the a7cii isn't a better camera for some, but the dismissal of nearly double the cost is a bit odd.
    (Not mentioning the 24-70 lens for 2300, as that changes everything)

    • @KaanSenel
      @KaanSenel  5 месяцев назад +1

      Did you watch the entire video? I mentioned the Samyang 35mm & 24mm f2.8, these only cost 250$ each, so the total investment would be less than you mentioned. Also, the internal nd is nice, but it's only a fixed ND, so it'll be always less useful compared to having a separate VND.

    • @mhayburn4846
      @mhayburn4846 5 месяцев назад +2

      @KaanSenel OH, so only 850 more with no nd filter, and if you want to take it to the "next level" as recommended (sony 24-70 f2.8 gm 2) only 2300 more. You're right, "some spare money."
      If you read my comment, I stated that the Sony for some is the better camera. My point was they're cameras in different price ranges, for different use cases with some overlap. I understand that there is a wealth gap. That for some 850 to 1400 more is spare money. As is, "just add" 2300 for a piece of glass to take it to the next level, maybe pocket change. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm just poor, and I'm the one who is out of touch.

      Dude same here, I have the Sony A7RV and love that camera but wanted a more compact everyday Sony camera and that's where the Sony A7cii comes in. I have the silver one along with the silver small rig base plate and love it. I pair it usually with the Sony 24mm F2.8 & 40mm F2.5 primes. The good thing is that I already have invested into Sony glass as I've owned the Sony A7Riii previously. The F1.8 primes are great with the Sony A7cii. I had the Fuji X100v and ended up selling it because I wasn't using it as much prior to getting the Sony A7cii.

    Great insight! However it is like comparing apples to oranges imho. I am all into Sony, love the ecosystem of E mount and just preordered the X100VI for one particular reason - to have fun with photography. I own a range of Sony APS-C cameras and love them to bits (the A6700 is just incredible) but I want to have something that will be living outside the studio, in my pocket, have some quirky things like the Fuji film simulations and enforce limitations on me (fixed 35mm eq) so I don't even think about lugging around an extra lens and think more about the shot. Imho the X100VI is to spark creativity and have something different in your hand than your usual portfolio of cameras, it is almost an artisan camera but yes, the A7CII is overall a better camera for someone looking for a main driver. Thanks!

    I bought a Sony A7RV and an A7CII when both were released. I am more than happy with both. Before that, I had been using a Fuiji X-T4, which I sold to help finance the the cost Sony gear. I enjoyed the Fuji so much that I was planning to get this new X100VI. After speaking to my nearest camera store manager, I decided not to buy it. There is nothing wrong with the X100VI. The gentleman told me that, at 70, I would enjoy the Sony's AF more. The only thing missing with the A7CII is a Sony pancake full frame lens. I think you're right, Kaan, I believe the A7CII is more camera than the Fuji. But if I had the budget, I'd buy the X100VII without giving it second thoughts.

    The price of the two cameras are close. I had a Fuji X100s and the focus was terrible and I found the fixed lens frustrating and limiting. I have been considering the VI, but your video makes think I should go with A7C II, as I'm a Sony shooter and already have plenty of Sony Glass. And I do find that having a short tele to compliment the 35mm focal length a big plus, and will say having a 20 - 24mm for wider shooting makes for a great three lens set-up. Do you really think it will go up in value? I read that they have a production capacity of 18k cams per month which is quite a lot. Also, the Fuji is not some kind of limited edition Leica or something, this version will be pretty widely available. I'd rather go for an A cam that suits all my needs, that might drop in price, but that does the job for everything than a camera that's not 'main cam worthy' - of course this depends on what you do with a camera. Its all the manual dials, the built in ND, the retro aesthetics, the sensor stabilization the optical view finder & the film simulations. It gives you all the fun of an old manual film camera with some modern convenances a digital camera affords. As someone who already owns other cameras the appeal of this its not maximum image quality, but to bring the fun and the slower pace of manual photography. Other small cameras seam to be built around the idea of point and shoot and have a bunch of pre programed modes and no tactile exposure controls. The fixed lens does not bother me, I'm not looking to invest in a bunch of fuji lenses or get invested in their system. Its just a fun camera that takes me back to the days when i used a Pentax K1000. Would i recommend this to someone as their first camera. Probably not.

      Agree with lot's of your points, that's why I also mentioned that the X100VI might not be the best investment for some. If you're already set on your 'main camera gear', the Fuji's a really great addition. If I had the spare money, I might have bought it as well

    Bigger, heavier , no built in “35mm”, no leaf shutter, no built in ND filter, smaller EVF, it’s a long list before this camera match the Fuji and body alone is $2200

      It's a suggestion and might be a better investment for some, it's not a 1 on 1 comparison.

      Amazing autofocus on the Sony, choose any Sony lens you like, full frame, excellent low ISO performance. The Sony 35 mm f1.8 is nice and small. Lots of reasons to get the Sony over the Fuji. I have an a7c and an x100v. I barely use the x100v and will probably sell it and the a7c and get the a7cii.

    I'm a sony shooter. These machines are workhorses, feature rich and amazing technology wise... but one thing they are not: Fun!
    People always say the X100 is a toy and they mean it condescending.
    For me the X100 also is a toy but one that brings me back the joy of playing with a camera.
    This is something that no Sony will ever do because "fun" isn't on their spec sheets when they design a camera.

      I've got the same feeling, really enjoyed my experience with the X100V, but for some people investing in their first good camera is a smarter decision. Especially if you consider the price. It might even be better for people to get the x100T of F camera's as a fun camera. But due to the form factor and with a small lens, I'm truly enjoying the A7CII as well as a fun camera tho.

      If I had spare money I'd probably want to get the X100VI as well and I'll probably borrow it from a friend to make a vid about it

      I 100% agree- I have the Sony for work and the Fuji for joy!

      I'm not trying anything over here mate, just thought it might be a better option for some. If people really want he X100VI, be my guest! It's a super dope camera

      The A7II is without any doubt the better camera. I own a a7cr and since thee weeks also the x100vi and I decided to either sell the x100vi or give it to my wife. The pictures of the a7cr are so much better than the ones from the fujifilm, that I always regret it when I bring my x100vi instead of the sony. It's a bit sad because I really like the look and feel of the fujifilm.

    Feel like there's lots of videos now just click baiting for the x100vi

      It does help to get views for sure, however I feel like for some people this will be the better camera and I wanted to share my excitement about the A7CII

      That's pretty much RUclips and entertainment in a nutshell. You want to be talking about the trends, because that is where the attention is. RUclips is a business built around making you want to buy goods and services.

      I disagree. I was looking at the x100vi (currently a Sony user), but want a smaller more compact daily carry, and the hype of the x100vi has been a negative to me, can’t pick up the camera, and after comparing I realise I can get some good compact lenses and the a7cii. Good video
