The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single seat, straight wing, subsonic, close air support, attack aircraft developed by Fairchild Republic for the United States Air Force. It is commonly referred to as the “Warthog” and has been in service since 1976 and has served in multiple conflicts.

2006 the last A-10 Thunderbolt of the 926th Fighter Wing left New Orleans. Prior to that the A-10's were a common sight in the skys of southern Louisiana and maybe not the most graceful aircraft in the sky they were probably some of the loudest. We will miss you guys, fly safe and remember the Oath of Office you toke to sit in that seat.
