Tagore had a great great relation with entire Europe...His cultural exchanges with Europe is a treasure to preserve ...Modern Indians other than Bengalis today dont even understand the genius of Tagore...Understanding Tagore requires study, cultural practice, feeling for life ...It takes decades to understand his creations.

I do not understand Bangla but even then I have an immense respect for Tagore. He passed away before independence and partition. So he is a common asset to Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.

ঠাকুর তোমার এত মিস্টি কন্ঠে গান সুনে মনে হচ্ছে কোথাও যেনো একটা অস্পর্শী-বিমূর্ত আশীর্বাদ বর্শিত হচ্ছে। আর তোমার গান তোমার কন্ঠে ঠাকুর এতটাই আত্মতৃপ্তি আছে যেনো যেকোনো অশান্ত মনকে এক নিমিষেই শান্ত করতে সক্ষম।।।।

Tagore is among the many non-Persian poets who love the 15th century Iranian poet Hafez. Tagore even went on pilgrimage to his tomb in Shiraz-Iran. It is not a surprise that both Tagore and Hafez have great audience in Iran as well as in the rest of the world because of the similarities between these two beautiful souls. We are so fortunate to be able to hear Tagore`s magical voice although I do not understand Bengali! Thank you Jayanta.
