The Louhan Quan was the style introduced by the Indian Monk Da-Mo 6th century AD. It has its influence on the Tamil Arts of Kuttu Varisai and Kuttu Kalai. It was the first time I saw the Louhan Form, it's very graceful.
I just from 16 chang quan. That form looks like an overly simplified version of this one. Bravo to the performer. He paid careful attention to many small details, so that his years of practice shine through.
Shi Yong Jie (Zhang Shi Jie) have very good fundaments, you see immediately that he practice a lots of basics. Strong fundaments results in nice flowing movements :) . 5 star from Feilong !
This very form is available as a detailed tutorial at the official Shaolin channel : RUclips/user/Shaolin Kung Fu . Under the title Shaolin Arhat (Luohan) Kung fu- road 1
I got my source from The Bubishi translated by Sensei MCCarthy and other info from the internet. I thought all along that Da-mo introduced some combative techniques from the Tamil Arts along with Yoga exercises and Zen practice.

What you said above is true. I was making comments on your ealier statement. Louhan Quan is a form (not style) bases on the personal characteristics of 18 Louhan(s). This form was created by 4th generation disciple of Damo. This form was not exist during Damo's time.
these forms are very old and there has become alot of room for interpretation. if youd like to learn this youd have to inquire about the lineage of the kung fu instructors in your area
You need to do some more research before you make such a statement above. Louhan Quan belongs to Southern Style of Shaolin. Southern Shaolin emerged about 4 generations after Monk Damo.
