Asante is to blame for the defeat. Two totally unnecessary bad tackles in the middle of the pitch ( no danger from sunderland at the time ) resulted in his dismissal. Albion were in full control up until then, but this irresponsible behaviour changed the game completely. He cost us the game. I say drop him for good. He wastes far too many goal scoring opportunities and his pace and skill set is deficient at this level. He has become a liability. Drop him and move him on at the end of the season.
He's a nice guy but not an out and out goal scorer. We need that and havent yad it for years. That is the difference between us and the teams at the very top.
Come on Corberan, starting with Townsend and Chalobah, while leaving Wallace, Swift, and Yokuslu on the bench is a recipe for disaster. Why don’t you try starting with Weimann for once instead of sticking with Asante? Today’s poor team selection cost Albion the game, and the poor substitutions against Stoke also cost Albion all three points. Carlos needs to wake up, and wake up now!!
Weimann has been utter shit lol... You can't seriously blame the manager for today? Asante let him down, we were the better team despite having 10 men.
@stephenlane4377 Let me guess, 50+ years of age? Know nothing about modern football? Know nothing about tactics or why we "pass around and go nowhere"? Typical albion fan these days. A lot of moaning but not a lot going on upstairs.
Very bad day at the office. Strange team selection for what was a must-win game ahead of two hugely difficult away game (look how we struggled against relegation threatened QPR, Millwall and Stoke where we could easily have been pointless). Sheff W will be fighting for everything as will Leicester who will be chastened after their Plymouth defeat. Leaving out Okay and Wallace was bemusing. We have heaped needless pressure on ourselves but that’s typical Albion I suppose. Need to park this and move on.
For as much as Asantes red card cost us the result. Carlos didn’t exactly set us up to win either. Townsend, Chalobah, Bartley, Mowatt and (recently) Fellows aren’t good enough every week. Pipa, Yokuslu, Wallace, Ajayi, M’Vila and (recently) Reach should be starting every game. It’s not like we’re playing 3 games a week. Twice a fucking week at most!
Sorry bad management today ok on the bench for a vital game and the second half had two wingers on and nobody in the box and we need to move the ball much quicker 30 passes to get nowhere if we do make the playoffs got no chance playing like we have the last four games
It's called squad management. Okay has looked exhausted lately and needed a rest at some point. I'd rather him have a day off like today instead of breaking him down and missing him in the playoffs. You can't just put out the same XI every week lol
Surprised the players were dumb enough to attack the Sunderland player the crowd were booing , just do your job and don’t lose , so uncreative atm it’s unreal
I am surprised a lot of your supporters are saying my team are thugs because if they can see this then I must be eligible for a white stick. We are not a physical team and very often suffer badly ok the occasional mis-timed tackle will happen with any team but our player are thugs what a joke.
Asante should be ashamed of himself he as let the club down today.

Yeah your spot on he needs 10 chances to score a tap in sell him in the summer hopefully.

it wasn't bad management we played well and would of probably won if Asante had a brain
Funny the number of people who think they are better at team selection than Carlos after we lose a game when playing with 10 men.
Twitchy bum time
Nothing he can do with that squad. The quality isn't there.
