@BenjoBuilds my little brother just got a 97' and we got it back home and realized head gasket was pretty well done. He's got plans of getting an older 2v 4.6 and any manual probably t5 or cd009, all junkyard stuff. Any tips or advice for the manual swap and cutting the firewall?
I'm glad this video was recommended to me. I've seen so many people picking up fox body's for drift cars and singing their praises, and I say to myself why not the T-Bird? The generation you have ( I believe ) mostly had 4 wheel independent suspension, which I would imagine would make it a better candidate for a drift car then a straight axle fox body. So hopefully these cars remain slept on so we all can still get them cheaper lol. Great video

FR710 fire stone tires on mine, they hook up very tight on the road other brands will leave ya sliding off the road trying to keep pace. would be interesting to line them t-birds up on the newer 2017 v6 ecoboost ford fusion... the turbos will blow up after 3000-8000 miles guaranteed. "not what there made for"... that new 7.3L ford is no joke. adjust the tear toe and lower a-arm and the rear end drives into the corners like a steering assist. AC blows very cold with all the wind going in it.

I had a nice pearl white 96 XR7 and couple friends had 95,96,97 Tbird and Cougars we all beat the shit out of. Great cars for Drifting 👌 make her bad bro

Hey man did you do any ECU tuning when you did the swap or just went straight for it? I'm the guy using a BMW gearbox in mine since I'm over in Ireland ahaha

I did I just got a chip from Super coupe Preformance website but I’m not too sure it does anything… the only thing that happens is your overdrive light flashes on and off but supposedly they turned off the automatic transmission controller but mine won’t run without it. You just keep the gear selector from the side of the trans and switch it into neutral or park to run it
@@BenjoBuilds sick, cheers man. I've a guy local to me who's a serious tuner and knows his way around Ford stuff so will see about just getting a tune with him I think.
He runs a Barra powered Ute with 1200hp, thinks nuts. If you're ever over this way of the world you're welcome for a pint and some country road drifting!

Rwd, v8 and independent rear suspension.. only other cars that had that at the time in the 90s was the Vette.

My dad had a 92 Thunderbird sport in the later 90s. I've got a 97 LX sitting in the driveway. I think yours would look better if you would color match the stripe on the bottom of the door, with the bumpers and hood? 👍
This is a supercoupe body kit, only got the pieces we needed at the time, but paint is definitely on the list
@@BenjoBuilds I figured it was of a kit but I should have guessed, you were going for maybe; a solid color? My 97 is "light denim blue metallic" and I just can't stand it! I used to have a Ford LTD Crown Vic that was "Ford bright dark blue metallic" and that's what I'm thinking for it. I find it to be such a beautiful color! 👍
