You can’t help but them ! Spencer is so clever and very skilled ! His wife has an amazing ability to lighten a stressful moment !
Spencer i don't think there's anything you cannot fix .look what you have achieved so far.be proud of yourself.Kenzie you have such a infectious laugh.when you laugh i laugh and this 77 year old sometimes doesent know why but thank you it makes my day.love from England🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧
Fully agree with this comment, i always look forward to watching the latest episode, also a avid viwer from England ...👏👏👍👍
Not from England but an avid watcher!!
Another avid viewer from England❤🇬🇧
I agree with you.🇮🇪💕
Agree with you!! Watching from Canada!
One of the things I love about you guys is that you own mistakes then fix them. Plus you listen to suggestions! Way to go!!
I would've lost it long before now and flipped the container on its roof to secure the panels... Your patience is impressive.
Right?? Just watching, I would have kicked the dirt bike rolled the container and sat in the woods babbling.
Time to get the random pieces of foam board to wedge between beam and board! 😊
That's what I expected him to realize... it's SO obvious vs multiple 2x4s and a jack... each foam sheet. Heck the foam could have been sprayed between studs and sheets to replace jack holding them up in place.
I see you building a condensation trap, in the voids between the insulation and the steel. That's why they use spray foam because it seals completely against the container leaving no voids.
Steel is an excellent heat transmitter...any and all suspended moisture coming into contact with the COOLER steel surfaces is going to condense and if in sufficient quantities will collect or congregat aat a low pont and drip. drip, drip, drip.....coat the metal exterior with a separator ...mission accomplished. This is just one of the many reasons that architects and engineers frown on converting containers into residence. It isn't a cost effective enterprise!!! (I am an architect>)
@@patrickbass3542Sprayed closed-cell foam displaces/blocks all air at the metal surface, there is no condensation.
I'm in the process of spray foaming my home and my research agrees with your comment. @@cghoward70
But there is air in the gaps and always will be
@@bennym1956 Like the original poster, I was referring to sprayed closed-cell foam. Sorry for the confusion.
Buy yourself some polypropylene socks. They help wick moisture away from your feet instead of allowing sweat to accumulate like a cotton sock does. Wool socks are also really great for pulling moisture (sweat) away from your feet. Warm and dry tootsies are so much nicer than freezing cold wet ones😊
I love how you as a couple and as a family show love with touch and words. The patience you show as you work through all the building problems is inspiring. You are so honest about the difficulties of the build and that is educational about the realities of the project. This will be an awesome cabin in your forest!! TY for sharing the journey. Best wishes from San Antonio, Texas.
Love the work ethic patience and ability to solve obstacles especially the helpful children gosh always can't wait for next video THIS FAMILY ROCKS ❤️
Life itself is a major practice of patience. And Spencer you get an A+. I so enjoy watching your video's not so much for the construction but the interaction between you all. You are a beautiful family and so loving of each other. God bless you.
Spencer gets a high five, on this one. Awesome family and dogs...🤩😍
If you put your adhesive on in circles it will create suction when you press the foam board up. That might help some, but if the roof isn’t flat it might not work. Pressing it up with the pole jacks is probably your best bet. I think the second layer will be easier.
Hello Family 🤗 bummer having trouble with foam boards - you'll get it figured out Spencer 😉 Cam is daddy's little helper & love all Beau's outfits 🥰 Hope you're feeling ok Mackenzie 🙏
Get a can of spray foam adhesive. It's a game changer. One can does what 20 tubes of caulk/liquid nails does, if you don't need structural strength to the hold the board things like wainscoting or foam board). It's a fraction of the cost, sticks almost immediately, and it's forgiving if you need to make adjustments or pull something off after it's dried.
Details where to find or brand name
3M Foam Fast 74 is a brand that I've used. It's minimal expansion. There are other brands that expand more, but this really works well.
@@user-rs9hl4mw7u they used some kind of spray insulation underneath the floor in their home containers. 😊
OMG Cam saying "Im working" is the cutest thing ever!!!
So glad you are accomplishing so much. You both have come a long way from the beginning of these videos. I congratulate both of you.
You have a beautiful growing family and watching all of you coming along year by year is a joy. Thank you so very much for including us.
May God continue to bless you and your family.
You guys always find ways to overcome obstacles. I just love how you handle challenges
I would have put the double layer in as I advanced down, so it wouldn't have been as tight a fit to run a piece all the way to the end again, even if you ended up crisscrossing the sheets. Project and family is looking good.
I was thinking that, too.
Glad to see how Spencer gets work around on problems that arise from time to time. Good work and the kiddies are so playful nice to see them enjoying themselves. Until the next time have a good week.
Watching your videos are so entertaining. Your wife loves to laugh and has an amazing sense of humor. You both are doing a great job. I've followed you for a long time now. Keep up the good work.
Parenthood, and consturction teach us patience. You've got it all
Enjoy watching your videos God bless the family
They are awesome. They are so dedicated to each other, their children and their projects. Good people.
What a lovely family. Love how they approach all the obstacles with calmness and can even laugh about it. Mackenzie is beautiful, she is glowing!
That was the most difficult, fiddliest discouraging jobs I have seen you tackle, all credit to you for carrying on doing the job. 10 out of 10.
All best for the rest of the build, love from Mike. ❤
Don't beat yourself up. You're doing a great job. Love the wife's😃😃 giggles.
I was watching you struggle with the adhesive. And I had an idea. Raid one or three of the dollar generals in your area for cheap inflatable pool toys. Inflate them between the framing and the foam board.
I thought about that. I rent. The security screen door has a huge gap at the bottom. I put a pool noodle down there. Keeps the little critters out.
I just can't get over how cute your little family is and how hard you are working on your cute cabin. Love it‼️💕💕💕💕
We all have days/ weeks like this.🤷🏼♀️ It will be ok. You already have a lovely home and
2+ kids. You will work it out. God Bless 💕🙏💕💕💕💕💕 Happy Groundhog's Day!
Just wanted to say that this is the only channel of its kind that I sub to on here. Long time follower, love the wholesome content you guys put out of your journey these past years. You have a beautiful family and I wish you all the best in the future ahead.
Instead of using the pull jacks, you can also clamp wedges between your crossbars and the foam panels. This means you can do everything at once and no longer have to rely on your pull jacks.
Warm greetings from Germany. love watching you 😁👍🏻
Absolutely….cheap and easy. He’s using tools he has not necessarily familiar with this alternative clamping suggestion or he’d use it. Just my guess.
I love how you love each other❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
Got no advice to offer; just keep doing what you’re doing, and sharing it with us!❤
Your persistence to get it to work is awesome! Thanks for sharing that.
Absolute respect for your patience Spencer.
Spray adhesive would give more contact area. Regardless, I agree with other commenters about condensation. Hopefully when you fully tape up the seams, it will limit moisture.
We have sunshine today for the first time in 2 weeks!! It is beautiful 💞
So so many of us!! They’re the sweetest family 😊
I just love how the children feel as though they’re being very helpful 😊😊❤
It's nice to see how happy you guys are. It's a rarity today to see a real happy family and a joy to see one as well
Well, you two are tenacious, and that is a great thing!
Keep up the great work. The kids are adorable.
They have shipping container insulation with peak and valley lmao, I love you guys. You just living a beautiful life. Happy for you living the American dream. ❤
Keep on keeping on my RUclips friends. Blessings,Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊🇺🇸
Those beautiful eyes on the bluey (blue healer). Gorgeous dog.
Progress is progress!!! 🥰🎶❤️🏡🙏🇨🇦

The fastest 17 minutes ever! Love you guys!❤
I have followed you from the very beginning when you built your first home and its been quite a journey since then with your two children who are amazing and with another child on the way. I really am enjoying everything you all do. Best wishes from here in the UK.
Watching them since day one.😊
Spencer, we don't know what you can do to control Kenzie's giddy laughing at your work efforts, a little spankin' is not a solution cuz she is a Mother-to-be and now has that "glow". You and yours stay safe and healthy. The cabin is coming along great!
Making progress have a good week and count your blessings amen
Make sure you also change out air inside the home since it might be air tight once finished. Get two detectors one for carbon monoxide and the other for carbon dioxide.
Buy yourself some boots with THINSULATE in them and some good quality wool socks. Your feet won't be cold again. Thinsulate works so well you'll need different boots for summer. Oilfield guy testimonial. Also the the things you're calling pole Jack's are actually called load locks. They are used in trailers horizontally to keep the freight from falling over.
Doing a great job. Maybe doing 2 layers in each section before moving on to the next section would have lessened the difficulty. Cut 2 foam bords to fit each section. Send then down the container. Add glue to.container. Prop that board up. Add glue to that board. Apply second layer. Prop them both up to cure glue. Move on to second section. Repeat. Its much easier to come up with ideas after the fact or sitting here watching your progress. 😂 Keep up the great content, its a real inspiration.
Love that you keep up the humor. Favorite kind of trap….
Io is a cutie! My kinda sidekick.
And Spencer, you have the patience of Job with that container cabin... It seems like its been fighting you every step of the way.
Kenzie your hair looks awesome!you are always so beautiful.
Served in Indochina 1968. We used "Conex boxes" 8ft 6in high 8ft wide and 10ft long to build bunkers. Slit in one side for machine gun, door behind. Covered with earth and sandbags on top. Pretty indestructible. We were probably supposed to return the empties to the US, but "so sorry"...we needed them.
I have zero knowledge how to do any of this. I know that you started as such. Please celebrate what you all have accomplished with house and now with this project. The amount of vocations you have learned over this time is overwhelming to think about. You are doing great. Take a deep breath and know that at least this viewer has complete faith that you will figure it out. Kenzie - you are glowing!
When you figured out to use boards (shims) between the top of the walls and the foam board to hold it up to dry, I was screaming “YES, YES…
Be thankful that you have a wife who sees humor in every mistake you make. You guys rock!
They are terrific. Lovely family❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very good overcoming obstacles and the sound of the little ones is priceless-imaginations in full bloom, brings back many memories. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoy their interaction with each other and with the kids ❤
man y'all the cabin is coming along nicely ~
I know y'all can't wait to get it up on the mountain property 🙂
Love to watch you guys building your dreams... ❤
For the bottom layer, make sure to flip it aluminum facing up so that your spray foam has the etched side to stick to.
Watching from Connecticut Do a great job love watching people build . Keep goy god with you. Amen
I am proud of you and everyone assisting you ❤❤❤
Good job guys! You will get the objective you want when you finish the project! Full insulation, warmth and insulation from the heat! Keep on doing this and have fun,!! Be safe!!😊
LOVE your interactions with your kids............ the pair of you!!!
All kinds of awesome as always. The cold never helps. God Bless you all!
Great job. Glad you think outside the box. Now comes the next layer. You are doing a good job.
Learning curve all the way😉
You are doing good!
((hugs)) to you both💖
Adjustable painters pole is cheapest support for holding lightweight things overhead. You got there in the end thru trial n error.
Yall doing a great job, keep up the good work guys.❤❤😊
I really hope that all this work, turns out to be a nice warm little cabin when you're up on your land. I'm seeing all the suggestions below and I hope that you are too; might make it easier in the long run. Please have a wonderful weekend and hope that you can get this done without too much frustration. Happy Friday! (from Sandi)
FUTILE: When the outside ceiling gets hot and freezing the foam board will let loose.
use 2x4 wedges for pushing foam up underneath the bourds you used with post jacks hope that helps lock things in place
He keeps such a good attitude as he fixes the challenges ... Love that!
Great Job Spencer. GET ER DONE!!!! 😊😊😊💕💕💕🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I can't get over how fast your kids are growing. ❤❤
I love you guys, from the very beginnings!!
For your cold feet . . I have a suggestion . Get an emergency blanket the foil ones cheapest ones you can , fold it in three tape it to the insoles of your boots . Or a second option is put a normal thin wool sock on and put a thin bamboo sock over the wool one . The bamboo one will hold all the moisture away from your other sock .
Keep going good job
Cayenne pepper in sock or make a cream with it 😊
@@Satya2btrue, that's going to keep your feet warm? Not just irritate the skin?
Sheep skin insoles work too
Try and get as much as you can done before the kids start school. Because that's a different ball game. Love you guys. Keep up the great work.
The foamboard in the ceiling is a great idea, albeit a pain to attach. Personally, I would've braced it up to begin with, making sure it attached at all contact points. Sprayfoam in the walls and ceiling will definitely be best. Love ya'll ❤️
You could use a chime in btwn the foam and the 2/4s to hold the foam up and once it sticks remove the chime.. but Spencer you can fix anything 😊
I love this family ❤
Bless your sweet Darlin hearts! ❤
Despite the challenges of your building process, it is so amazing to see that you both support and love each other through the challenges the build presents. You both are an amazing example for your children to see what love truly looks like. I say stay the course, mistakes included, and continue to build resiliency to show your beautiful family that hardwork payoffs in the end... ROCK STAR STATUS.
Every day is a learning experience, and you're doing just fine. No worries, right. This will be soon be finished and you'll be looking for something else to work on. Love the kids and the dogs too.
I love how you guys amongst your trials and tribulations that you continue to crack up at each other and seems like you're have a good time no matter what... You two are perfect for each other.
Just love you guys. I hope your daughter has the same laugh you do Mackenzie. ❤
Spray adhesive works great!
Hi guys, I just love you both so much and you can see the love do you have for each other even when things go crazy and you can still see the love for each other which is wonderful. I just loved the honesty you both have when you are doing stuff and it doesn’t turn out right Anyway keep up the good work. Love your videos Cliff from Logan City Queensland, Australia
Great job, seems like you know what you are doing keep up the good work 😮😊💜
In the future, I recommend that you use foam adhesive when installing foam board to a ceiling
Love this family ,always having a great time with each other on the job site. What else can you say about this family, they always work together and through it. David B, Utah. 🐕🐕❤❤❤.
I love how smart you guys are! ❤❤
If you put your adhesive on In circles⭕️ it will create a double suction and pull it up, or spray foam works as well, food for thought for next time, I’ve used this method myself and it works, your Alaskan friend.. God Bless you all it’s looking great 🙏🏻❤️
Yep, adhesive should hold for a while, but it’s going to start getting warmer soon… and😮
