    The only time I have seen A380s in person is when I was connecting in Frankfurt Germany. I hope they will start flying here soon. I would love to see it. It will be awesome!

      G-Man So Fly I saw A380's in New York's airport but not O'hare...

      they do fly to JFK, but not to O'Hare at least not as of now. I am assuming Lufthansa,Emirates and British Airways will start using their A380-800 soon!

    I never noticed the upgrade to M11. I've seen BA use is often. Does anyone use both jet bridges?

    do you know if they have plans to introduce the Emirates A380 flight from ORD to DXB in the near future?

    • @ChicagoAirportSpotter
      @ChicagoAirportSpotter  8 лет назад +1

      Not the VERY near future, but it's my understanding that the plan is to go to daily A380 service from EK...eventually. We're also expecting a few other airlines to consider running A380's here.

      No, negative. I'm a ramp controller. I'm just in charge of the gates at the International terminal.

    Hopefully Qantas will gate here. But the breakup in flight is nice flying to Melbourne from DFW.

    Neat.. So any more a380 flights in Chicago anytime soon??

    • @ChicagoAirportSpotter
      @ChicagoAirportSpotter  8 лет назад +1

      Kevin Davis Unfortunately, no. We have no scheduled A380 service. There's a chance (or several - Air France, Asiana, British Airways, Emirates, Etihad, Korean, Lufthansa, & Qatar all operate A380's, just not to Chicago) that we may see an equipment change one day due to other planes being out of service or something major going on, so I'm holding out hope for a day lie that. But for now, bothing is planned or scheduled.

    • @KevinDavis338

      My guess, once the 747 is phased out, then I think we could see more 380.. But I could be wrong.

    • @ChicagoAirportSpotter
      @ChicagoAirportSpotter  8 лет назад +2

      Kevin Davis I highly doubt that. Everyone seems to be going down to 2 engines. Korean used to fly 747's daily here. Now they fly B77W's. Same for Etihad who once routed A345's here. Royal Jordanian switched from the A342 to the B788.

      May 8th,2018. British Airways A380 will start regular flights into Ohare

      As CAS said, the future of 4-engine planes is uncertain. Carriers are replacing their 747s either with 2-engine jumbos, like B777s (and especially the new generation 777X that will launch soon, which saves energy), or with the smaller B787 and A350 (either with increased frequency, or relying less on the hub-spoke model). So, the future of the A380 is up in the air. Some B747s will continue to operate for a while: The last B747-400s were delivered in 2009, still young planes by 747 standards (these aircraft last longer than smaller planes), which easily have over ten years ahead of them still. Also, a handful of B747-8s were delivered between 2012 and 2017. While we'll see fewer 747s *and* 380s in the coming years, the younger ones will still be in the air operating niche routes, like say between high-demand, slot-restricted airports like between JFK and LHR.

    O'hare Airport handles more bigger airplanes than Midway Airport, that is because O'hare Airport is bigger, has more bigger runways and much more space to park large aircraft like the world's biggest passenger airplane the Airbus A380-800. Ever since that Midway is a smaller Airport, it cannot handle large airplanes like the Boeing 767, Boeing 777 and the Airbus A380-800 like O'hare Airport can.

      Being your average ramp agent, I'd have to say that the afternoons are less than desirable and far from comfortable, lol. But I do agree that it's far better in the morning and evening.
