Emirates A380 DIVERSION at O'Hare Airport

- On December 17th, 2023 as I was tracking the Emirates 777 that usually comes into O'Hare, I noticed the A380 flight to Houston was not far behind. Soon, flightradar24 indicated that EK211 from Dubai (DXB) to Houston (IAH) was diverting to Chicago (ORD). This most likely occurred due to a medical emergency as there were a few EMS vehicles waiting by gate M17. The flight departed on to Houston around two hours later. O'Hare did receive a one-off Emirates A380 flight in 2016, but other than that Emirates only flies the 777-300ER here. Still, this was super fun to experience and hopefully Emirates will decide to bring the King of the Skies again for regular passenger flights.

Sadly, I doubt Emirates will ever bring the A380 to ORD for regular service. The first time they brought one, they damaged it.

Did any airlines fly the a380 to O'hare? I think British Airways did last year and Emirates did once
Yeah British Airways used to fly their A380 here, but won’t anymore since they moved to T3 (Oneworld connections and better lounge) and T3 doesn’t have an A380 gate. Instead, they increased to 3 daily flights to make up for the lost capacity. Emirates flew a one off A380 in 2016.
