3 things you gotta know.
1) A primordial demom is the oldest member of the demon race. They are the first to come into existense.
2) The red eyes and different tone that Rimuru had after evolving was the Great Sage (now called Raphael) in control of his body. The same thing happened when he was fighting the Orc Lord.
3) The 2 demoms that were sacrificed were converted into magicules in order to gain the energy needed to bring everyone back.
Technically the 3rd thing is incorrect. Raphael has a nearly endlessly supply of magicules via Veldora. The real reason why she made it seem like she didn't have enough was to trick Diablo into offering to demons so she could absorb them specifically. Reason being, demons are being of desire. Incarnations of desire if you will. Specifically the will to live was inherent in Veldora's energy.
About the third thing, iirc, that ended up playing a part in Shion’s resurrection specifically
and "Merciless" reminds me of what occurred when father felled Amestris to ascend to godhood
When Rimuru was using resurrection magic it wasn't Rimuru it was Great Sage now Raphael. Which was why the voice was different and began sentences to Benimaru "Notice". Rimuru still hasn't woken up.
Degenerate was originally shizu's skill. He received it after consuming her body. That skill basically dissects, seperates and adds different skills to make new ones.
For eg. Black Flame is one of Veldora's Storm Magic and an Extra Skill. Rimuru obtained it by combining the effects of Predator's Mimicry, Flame Transformation, and Flame Manipulation using the Synthesis of Degenerate.
cool thing is that they dont really go into detail is Rimuru didnt lose the skill Degenerate but instead its now part of Raphael kinda like a equip skill lol

Rimuru and Diablo haven't met before He summoned him . The amount of souls he summoned is what caused him to come sense it was such a high amount it summoned a greater demon. And it just turned out to be him . And without spoiling anything he's Very old and as u can see VERY Strong.
Not completely right. Diablo sensed Rimuru was summoning and not wanting to pass up this chance, slaughtered all other demons that would've been summoned and got summoned instead. If Diablo didn't show up, it would've been a massive hoard of demons.
Not the souls, he used all the dead bodies which are 20000 to summon demons and used all souls to start the harvest festival for evolution
I'm pretty sure they met much earlier in the series, near the end of Season 1, but they skipped over that story and I think made it into an OVA. That might have been "Beretta" though? I never got around to watching that movie.
@@Augoeides32 Beretta is a completely different demon from Diablo. Same lineage, but different demons. So no they did not meet. You're remembering the line "That is how Rimuru and Diablo met, even though it was mostly one sided."
Good summaries. Rimiru had no idea who or what this unnamed(if you ladies remember the episode with Shizue, he said he was "called" Kuro, and Shizue called him Noir) demon is. During the episode with Shizue, that dying adventurer girl summoned Noir with the dead bodies on hand, which amounted to only a large battle, nowhere near around 20,000 corpses. With Rimiru using so many bodies to summon him, the demon got to show up in a far more resilient, powerful physical body. I am under the impression that Noir is HELLA stronger against Razen than against Shizue, because of this tribute. I never read this novel, so most of that is my hypothesis.
I really wish the anime had been clearer with the whole summoning demons thing. Nothing about Ramaris's demon or why Rimiru now knows how to even summon demons, which he learned in the whole arc that got left out. :/
Primordial in this context means first of/original, meaning he's one of the first demons to ever exist. That's why Razen was so scared of him

The only "negative" that could be said to have occurred during the resurrection (and it depends on what you consider negative) is that Shion and the 100 resurrected hobgoblins had their evolutionary paths altered due the presence of the soul fragments of the two Greater Demons sacrificed during the ritual.

*Awakening* is a term used to refer to the process of becoming a higher form of existence.
Examples include: Hero Eggs and Demon Lord Seeds awakening and becoming True Heroes and True Demon Lords, Demi-Spiritual Lifeforms awakening and becoming Spiritual Lifeforms or Spiritual Lifeforms awakening and becoming Divine Beings.
*Hero's Egg* refers to those who obtain the blessing of an Elemental Spirit of Light or Darkness as well as the Queen of Spirits.
*True Heroes* or *The Ones who Hatched the Hero's Egg*, are those who hatched a Hero's Egg, merging with their elemental and became an Awakened Hero.
*Demon Lord Seed* refers to individuals who have met the necessary qualifications to be able to undergo the Harvest Festival and become Demon Lords. They are not acknowledged as proper Demon Lords by the Voice of the World but can obtain the title if the Demon Lord Council approves of them as such. Examples include the Orc Disaster, Clayman, Carrion, Frey and Roy Valentine.
*True Demon Lord* - sometimes referred to as *Awakened Demon Lord* are those who have undergone the Harvest Festival and become actual Demon Lords by awakening as acknowledged by the Voice of the World. Examples include Rimuru Tempest, Milim Nava and three others on the Demon Lord Council.
Other methods of Awakening include Cultivation, Temporary Awakening through Equipment or Skills, Merging with an Elemental Spirit, and two other methods.
Cultivation is a method that requires individuals to train ones Skills, learning and mastering Arts, gathering Energy, and cultivatating their Body and Mind, pushing themselves to break their own mental barrier to Awaken. The primary example of Cultivation are Saints (Enlightened Humans and Demi-Humans who have undergone Awakening), but it works even for Majin.
By using equipment of Mythical-Grade or high-class Legendary-Grade equipment, it is possible to temporarily awaken.
By using certain skills like Magic Flame Transformation or Divine Berserker it is possible to temporarily awaken.
By merging with a high ranking Elemental Spirit it is possible to awaken even for a short time using ability like the Fusion skill. A High ranking Elemental Spirit needs to like an individual to form a contract with them, which can be tricky because they tend to have high standards for whom they trust. Examples include Treyni and Gazel Dwargo.
It is also possible to awaken incompletely by forcing a method causing a kind of Pseudo-Awakening.

*Demon Slime* (魔粘性精神体デモンスライム Demon Slime [Demonic Viscous Spiritual Body]) is the ultimate stage of evolution of Slimes. They evolve to this stage by awakening as a True Demon Lord during the Harvest Festival.
As a result of Rimuru's super evolution, all of their parameters have been greatly increased and the ability to freely change between Material and Spiritual Bodies has been gained, indicating that Demon Slimes are Slimes who have obtained Divinity.

*The Harvest Festival* is a phenomenon that occurs once all the requirements to become a True Demon Lord have been met.
In order to meet the base requirements to undergo a Harvest Festival and become a Demon Lord, an individual has to fulfill certain conditions, at which point they're referred to as a *Demon Lord Seed*. Once the individual obtains the qualifications to become a Demon Lord, they're required to "Germinate the Seed" using a large amount of Souls.
It is usually said that 10,000 Human Souls are necessary for this process, but in fact, the soul of any creature capable of passing a mirror self-recognition test is sufficient. Similarly, the 10,000 number is only an average, with the actual quantity of soul energy being what matters, not the number of individual souls. For example, the Soul of an Enlightened Human or Demi-Human let alone an Awakened one would possess far more Soul Energy than the average Human.
Once an individual with the qualifications to become a Demon Lord germinates the seed with an appropriate amount of nutrients, the Voice of the World will confirm their intent to become a Demon Lord, after which, the start of the Harvest Festival will be announced to those in their surroundings and the Initiation will begin.
The Initiation is a process in which the Demon Lord Candidate is tested by the world itself to determine if they're worthy of being a Demon Lord. The individual's consciousness will grind to screeching halt as they're put into a special "sleep" that is impossible to resist and lasts for three days. This "sleep" is different from the usual Evolutionary Slumber and the Low-Activity Mode used by Spiritual Lifeforms. During the duration of the "sleep", the individual will be left completely helpless, with even their defensive skills granting them no benefit. If one is not careful, one could be assassinated by an enemy or disloyal ally while undergoing the initiation, making undertaking it a massive risk.
During the duration of the Initiation, the individual will start the main course of the Harvest Festival in full. Their body will be reconstructed into a stronger state, usually resulting in the individual's Super Evolution into their desired form and acquiring powerful Intrinsic Skills along with it. The individual's mind will also be stimulated, making the individual a Spiritual Lifeform in mind if they weren't so already. This can potentially result in minor personality changes, although the odds of that are slim.
The power granted to an individual upon becoming a Demon Lord is immense, so much so that it isn't uncommon for True Demon Lords to possess Divinity, making those that do super-high level existences with increased odds of awakening an Ultimate Skill in their near-future. It is also possible for the individual's Equipment to increase in quality by leaps and bounds, potentially raising it to the Mythical-Grade or near Mythical-Grade.
Upon the completion of an individual's Harvest Festival, Gifts will be granted to everyone in that individuals Soul Genealogy, most notably those that they've named. The Harvest Festival's "Gifts" can come in many forms. Some gain Skills that they desire, potentially even awakening Unique Skills, while others attain evolutions that would otherwise be impossible. Whatever the result, it is almost certain that their "wish" will come true.
that Demon was actually rimuru's second summoned demon his first is the demon he summoned for ramiris as a servant/guard named Beretta back when Rimuru was helping the children with spirits
Diablo missed that oportunity initially and wanted to actually murder Beretta for taking up the summon. He wasn't about to miss that oportunity again😂
Voice of the World Explanation
Explanation for Voice of the World since the Anime never explained it (the first Time it was mentioned and explained about in the Light Novels, was around Volume 3, which they left out in Season 1)
Its a Sort of mechanism or a system that governs the world, and when certain phenomenon occur - such as the acquisition of skills, racial evolution, the obtainment of a demon lord seed, and the activation of some skills - the World Language will echo within the consciousness of all related parties. Sometimes it is heard by a single individual while in other instances it is broadcast to a large group of individuals within the range of the source phenomenon.
Important to remember for the Future, because Great Sage essentially copied the Voice of the Voice of the World when Rimuru reincarnated (was mentioned in the Light Novels, but sadly not mentioned in first Season) which is why Great Sage has the same Voice as VotW.
There is the title of Demon Lord which you can be recommended for like Carrion and Clayman, but there is also an evolution process for becoming a “True Demon Lord” like what Rimaru just went thru.
Its a really dumb naming convention, should have been demon lord and demon king if anything.

@@iamme141 I agree that it's dumb they never explain it. I did SORT OF pick up on it, but didn't understand it still. I had assumed that Rimiru basically went through stage 1 of 2. I know spoilers don't matter much now as they've gotten through it all, but i'll still avoid them for anyone else (though I can't imagine 'watching' a show via reaction videos with all the content they have to cut for legal reasons).
There are things said later in the show that kind of clued me in on this, but I didn't realize that it was JUST a title in those cases. I had assumed that Rimiru's evolution in this episode was effectively stage 1 and that there was still potential for a stage 2 that would make him a "True" Demon Lord.
Primordials are the highest ranked of demons, the originals basically, to summon such a demon, sacrificing 10,000 souls got him to be summoned, if it was much lower, it'd be difficult, for example, last time around the time when shizu faced him, he was summoned but for a small of amount of time. But souls this much summoned this guy, you will find out more about the primordials in later episodes perhaps, in manga even more
only diablo or noir soo far is the only one of the primordials that can go from the mortal world to the demon world

True Demon Lord (真なる魔王, shin naru maō?) - sometimes reffered to as Awakened Demon Lord (覚醒魔王, kakusei maō?) - is a term created to distinguish those who call themselves a Demon Lord and those who have undergone the Harvest Festival and become actual Demon Lords.
As well as everyone that is calling themselves a demon lord at least has a demon lord seed
Clayman and a few others are Demon Lord's in title only, a true Demon Lord is one who met the requirements with the human souls, like Milim for example.
*Mystic Oni* are the result of Kijin fully returning to their ancestral roots as Elemental Spirits, making them Spiritual Lifeforms similar to Dryads or incarnated Arch Demons. They possess an immense amount of power comparable to that of a Demon Lord Seed, with nigh-unlimited lifespans as a result.
Benimaru, Shuna, Hakuro, Soei and Kurobe all evolved into Mystic Oni during Rimuru's Harvest Festival.

*Wicked Oni* are a parallel evolution of Mystic Oni, possessing an essence that leans closer towards that of a Demon rather than that of a pure Elemental Spirit. They possess an immense amount of power comparable to that of a Demon Lord Seed, having a nigh-unlimited lifespan as a result.
Shion evolved into a Wicked Oni rather than a Mystic Oni like the other Kijin during Rimuru's Harvest Festival due the influence of two Greater Demon's soul fragments used in resurrecting her.

*Perfect Memory* is an Extra Skill that Rimuru obtained from analyzing the two Greater Demons that were absorbed by Beelzebub and it was gifted to the hundred fallen citizens of Tempest during Rimuru's harvest festival to assist in their complete revival.
It allows the user to record their memories into their Astral Body allowing the user to retain their memories for as long as the Soul remains intact. This makes resurrection of the user possible even if the users brain and Spiritual Body have been destroyed.
It can also act as a “springboard” into awakening, making it easier for powerful beings to break through their mental barrier and begin thinking with their Astral Body or Soul, becoming Spiritual Lifeforms.

*Ogre Berserker* is an Intrinsic Skill of Wicked Oni. It allows the user to tremendously increase their physical strength for the duration it remains active, with a performance that far surpasses the skill Steel Strength. The downside is that it damages the user's body to remain active, leaving them worn out and in need of recovery afterward.

Yay! I love this episode! The evolution is so cool, so many new abilities. Everyone passing out to get their own upgrades, Rimuru's cool new autopilot (aka Raphael). The demons summoned were cool too, even if 2 of them didn't last lol. Great couple of episodes 😆👍
My absolute favorite thing about Rimuru's evolution is the desperation of Great Sage to evolve as well. It really showed that it was no longer just a skill and had grown an actual identity and personality. It didn't want to be left behind and wanted to keep serving it's master and was happy to sacrifice to do that. I love it!
Okay first thing first. "Degenerate" and "Merciless" wasn't really sacrificed, both skills became kind of like a sub-skill(and I think the names changed, not sure) for the two ULTIMATE skills "Raphael" and "Beelzebub". Ultimate skill are the "MAX" skill one can have and it can only be countered by another Ultimate skill. Second, that Demon, He is called "NOIR" at this time, (I don't wanna say his name since he'll be given next episode) is called a PRIMORDIAL, literally means existence from the beginning, he is one of the Seven Primordial demons. He was summoned by Rimuru. He almost got summoned in season 1, but as he said the summoning was intercepted by his own kind. He is strong enough to be a Demon Lord or even a True Demon Lord himself but yes he just wants to serve strong individual(or maybe just Rimuru). Third, A "DEMON LORD" is pretty much just a title, anyone strong enough can be called/self-proclaim themself as one. A "TRUE DEMON LORD" is kind of a "STATUS" if you will or you can just say they are an "AWAKENED" Demon Lords. And True Demon Lords goes through the whole Harvest festival "Event". At this time(when you're watching), there are 10 Demon Lords but only 4 True Demon Lords(excluding Rimuru). LAST, the one that awakened was actually "Raphael" in control of Rimuru's body, Rimuru is still pretty much asleep and going through Harvest festival, since Raphael deemed it important to resurrect the dead as it is the point of that whole ordeal. Hooooo!, I hope I covered it all sorry if it was long.
The Merciless technique was very super epic. Definitely worth of the hype. I hope Demon Lord Rimuru is still the same old Rimuru that we grew to love. They were precious already.

Ultimate Skills, as the name implies, grants its wielder the ultimate power to control the very laws of nature. The only ways to counter an Ultimate Skill are with another Ultimate Skill, Mythical-Grade Equipment or Divinity. That is the absolute, unbendable rule of the world.
If Unique Skills are born from one's individuality, Ultimate Skills are born when Unique Skills are brought past their limit. That is why no Ultimate Skill is identical. A strong will and soul, as well as being a Spiritual Lifeform are necessary to awaken an Ultimate Skill. Similar to all Skills, a large amount of Energy is consumed and converted to awaken them.
In the story, the characters pronounce Ultimate Skills using only the being they reference and not the entire names used in the wiki and translations. Meaning, it's "Ultimate Skill Beelzebub" not "Ultimate Skill Lord of Gluttony Beelzebub." This is due to the Japanese texts themselves. *Divinity* is something that is achieved when a Spiritual Lifeform who possesses a material body completes the process of awakening and becomes immortal as a result. It is different from the conceptual God and beings who possess it are not omnipotent, they are, however, extremely powerful.
Beings with Divinity possess the ability to freely convert their material body between physical and spiritual form and are freed from lifespan. As long as their heart core remains intact, and they have sufficient energy, they can regenerate endlessly, even from the destruction of their body or soul.
It should be noted that most individuals possessing divinity cannot have children, as their physical body is almost always converted into a mass of pure energy and lack properly functioning genetics as a result.
They also possess a special energy called *Divine Aura* which, when used with their body or equipment, can elevate their attack and defense to be equivalent to Mythical-Grade Equipment.

*Raphael [Lord of Wisdom]* is one of Rimuru Tempest's Ultimate Skills. It had evolved from the Unique Skill Great Sage during Rimuru's Harvest Festival after countless attempts to evolve itself. It had done so for the sole purpose of becoming more useful to its master, showing early signs of a developing ego. It had eventually succeeded at the sacrifice of the Unique Skill Degenerate.

Beelzebub can absorb targets, as if it was a Black Hole.
Sub-Skills:
-Predation: Absorbs the target into the body and can be used at range like Gluttony. If the target is conscious, however, the success rate greatly decreases. The affected targets include organic matter, inorganic matter, Aura, Magicules, Skills, Magic and even space itself. It also takes effect instantly, ignoring space and time.

Noir (Aka “Diablo”) interrupted the summoning and actually summoned himself. Not sure if allot of anime watchers knew this or not.
Diablo knew Rimuru already as shown in Shizue's episode, and wanted to be summoned by Rimuru. In the Ramiris's dungeon (labyrinth) when Rimuru had to summon a demon for her, in exchange for destroying her magic soldier which was guarding her labyrinth, one of Diablo's bloodline demons answered the call first. Although he wanted to get summoned by Rimuru, he was late that time in answering the call, and regretted that. But this time around, he was able to answer Rimuru's demon summon.
Although Diablo knew Rimuru through Shizue's time mask, and after that had been stalking him from the "void", Rimuru had no idea about who Noir (Diablo) is.
And, after one sidedly knowing about Rimuru and his exploits, he was very impressed by everything he did. He is from the bloodline of demons which are known for their extreme curiosity for new experiences and to know about everything in that world. This led him to become more and more interested in wanting to get summoned by Rimuru as time went by, until this moment.
Rimuru's demon slime race is classified as a race that belongs to a higher class of holy demon spirits.(上位聖魔霊)
It also has resistance to the holy attribute, which was previously a weak attribute, and is durable enough to withstand disintegration, the most aggressive magic in the world where Rimuru lives, as long as it avoids a direct hit.
As a side note, brother Veldora's race is classified as the highest-ranking holy demon spirit species.(最上位聖魔霊)
Will Rimuru be able to reach that height as well?
Btw, some pretty damn important info- the subtitles say "sacrifice" every time a skill gets exchanged for an evolution, but that is inaccurate. Basically, a translation error. It's more like a process of combining skills, which satisfies the World System/Words of the World, allowing a new/upgraded skill to be accessed. I mainly point this out because it is plot holey af if you go forward thunking these skills are gone. In fact, at some future point of TenSura, if you believed that skills got "sacrificesd," once a specific event happened, you'd be screaming about "WTF?!?" I dont know how far the anime will go, but even now, if you really think about the process, it would be hella impossible for those skills to be gone.
Rimuru was trying to summon any random greater demon but Noir was waiting for when Rimuru would summon any demon so he could insert himself into it because he wanted to be summoned by him.
Some clarification
Rimiru and Diablo hasn't meet before this episode, but Diablo has known about Rimiru since the episode with Shizu and wanted to be summon by Rimiru to serve him.
About Demon Lord, Demon Lord is a title that is given by the word of worlds when certain condition are meet but in the tensura world you can't call yourself a demon lord without the permission of the other demon lord's. Not all the the demon lord are true demon lord's , some of them are demon lord seeds case and point Clayman. Rimiru just became a true demon lord but he still needs the approval of the other Demon Lord to be able to call himself a demon lord.
Degenerate allows Rimuru to break skillas apart to recombine them to make new skills.
Great Sage/Wise one wanted to upgrade even further to help Rimuru. Wise on kept requesting to evolve, till it gave up that skill. But Rimuru still has that skill, basically Wise One n Degenerates fused together to Create Ultimate Skill Raphael Lord of Wisdom. And then Raphael continued to upgrade Rimuru’s other skills. Most people at Rimuru’s level may not have any Ultimate skills. To our knowledge as of this episode, we know Rimuru has 2.
Clayman has the seed but not awakened as true demonlord because he didnt have atleast 10,000 souls yet. Rimuru has demonlord seed when he killed the orc lord and he only need the souls to awaken. In ttigraas you get more power when you kill anything with magicules, rimuru's absorption technique is just waaaay more efficient because it 100% sucks up enemy magicules and even analyze techniques to be used at his disposal.
Correct me if im wrong but i think frey, carrion, and clayman aren't awakened as true demon lord, milim and the others(not spoiling) are ancient and stronger demonlords because they absorbed more than the required number of souls to awaken. Milim is considered one of the strongest btw
Demon lord is a title given to those acknowledged by the other demonlords. where as True demon lord is a Evolution (title) given to you by the voice of the world after you awaken (you need enough magicules and around 10K souls to awaken)

So to answer 2 questions 1 degenerat was shizue’s skill that could break and combine abilities which was sacrificed to make Raphael the upgrade of great sage/wise one 2 the person that did the resurrection ritual was Raphael alone cause she knew rimuru would’ve wanted done as soon as possible even though he’s asleep.
As usual the anime cut a lot of important info out for this episode to save time so I suggest reading my other comments on this episode, big info dumps.
Those were Noir/Diablo's own descendants that were sacrificed by Raphael so it was a big thing and I'm pretty sure Noir only brought them along since he anticipated the cost of the Secret Art of Revival. He can be pretty merciless even to his own kin. He almost killed Beretta, another of his descendants, for cutting in line when Rimuru summoned Beretta back in Season 1 for Ramiris (ruclips.net/video/wcPGJ_FzpP0/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/NPbxAUrx4A0/видео.html).
Degenerate was Shizue's Unique Skill and its Synthesis and Separation abilities were absorbed by Raphael so it wasn't a total loss.
Just remember RED EYES = the Great Sage (wise one skill)/ Raphael takes over control of the body... same thing happened during the Orc Disaster fight, Wise One took over and Rimuru's eyes are RED...also harvesting those two demons doesn't not affect the souls of those being revived, as their souls are their souls, the demons were harvested to get enough magic energy / magicules to perform the revival magic (like convert matter to magic energy).... think of it like if you play a game as a wizard you need resource like mana to cast spells

Also, notice how it said that he gained a spiritual attack resistance? It may not happen this season, but I believe that that will come in handy when he fights Hinata again.
Wise one is the great sage.
The great sage itself asked words of the world to evolve. It failed billions of attempts. Then great sage gritted its teeth essentially and chose on its own to sacrifice degenerate (the ability he got from shizu) to try again.... it worked.
Knowing it alone wasnt enough to do the revival, now raphael chose to sacrifice merciless to ensure gluttony evolved.
Then raphael, without orders from rimuru, took over his body and began the ritual. Knowing rimuru wanted his friends back at anybcost, so chose to continue with self sacrifice.
Demons though allowed the required energy needed to do it so it was accepted.
And rimuru never met this demon yet, but its been watching rimuru since fight with ifrit.
The kind of sad/wholesome thing about great sage evolving as well is it seems/is implied great sage wanted to evolve so urgently because it knew it needed to for the resurrection to have any realistic chance of success (and it was very much correct) it tried over and over because it wanted to give rimurus wishes the best chance it could. Raphael knows all, the secret art that great sage didn’t as well as how to give it the best chances of success (evolving gluttony) not that I believe great sage knew it would evolve into Raphael, but I think that’s why it attempted it’s own evolution first out of any of the skills because whatever it would evolve into would have a better idea of what to do next with the other evolutions.
One thing that always bummed me about this episode was that it's Raphael using Rimuru's body that caused the red eyes (hence Great Sage's voice and red eyes like when he let Great Sage fight Orc Disaster). I wish Rimuru actually got red eyes after the evolution so he would look more "demon-esque" and didn't just look the same (besides slightly taller)

f.y.i. - Demons dwell in the Netherworld and sacrifices are required to summon them for a limited amount of time and that number based on how strong the demon is. They are also spiritual beings who acquire physical forms through said sacrifices. Rimuru offered 20k soulless bodies and got only three high-level demons. This alone shows that Noir is so powerful it required that many bodies just for him and two others
Also when Rimuru's eyes turn red that's (Great Sage) now (Raphael) taking over his body.
To become a TRUE DEMON LORD, the individual in question need to have "the" seed & I mean "The Demon Lord Seed", it is one of the condition & the requirement for the individual in question to evolve into a True Demon Lord.
Now, for the other individual who either was proclaimed by others or self-proclaim themselves as a demon lord for their intensely immense strength & power, which probably already have killed more than 5k or 10k people before, which probably have acquired "the" seed, but didn't met the condition & requirement of activation. Which is why I believe the demon lord such as Carrion, Frey & Clayman were never a True Demon Lord, because a True Demon Lord, would've evolve into a demon-something race.

What's more broken is that even after sacrificing Degeneration and Merciless to evolve Wise One to Raphael Lord of Wisdom and Gluttony to Beelzebub Lord of Gluttony, Raphael could still "remake" the skills for Rimuru so he could use it again. Just like Delete and Recover.

So considering the amount of bodies, its clear he summoned a very powerful demon, primordial demon, which I think in this world is the highest rank.
Diablo fought Shizu, played with her a bit then later on saved her from the demons pretending to be royalty in the human kingdom.
Of course Diablo, or Noir like he was called before naming, could sense he is connected with Shizu, not only from her mask but appearance and energy.
Rimuru was controlled by Raphael when he revived them, who before evolving was Sage.

Rimuru didn't choose the demon. He was summoning any demon. But what they didn't show you, that when he tried to summon demons. This demon fought all the demon and didn't let them get summoned. If he didn't stop them Rimuru would have summoned more than 100 demon. But this demon decided him and the 2 others are enough.
You probably got told already but True Demon Lord and Demon Lord are two different things. Demon Lord is a title and True Demon Lord is an evolutional state. So not everyone with the title of Demon Lord is a True Demon Lord and is subsequently less powerful than a True Demon Lord. It's not a spoiler because the anime never tells you the distinction between the two, but just talks like it assumes you know they're different, so when you see other Demon Lords you end up confused by power comparisons. Also, it's considered not good to call yourself a Demon Lord without going through the right process to be instated as one since it's a very official title, but they don't explain that either.

Idk which is the actual way he died in the LN, but this death was way more funny to me than it was for anime onlys because it was COMPLETELY different in the manga, so I was caught off guard since i WAS expecting him to die, but not like this.
The way it happened in the manga is him leaving the tent (which had a closed door,unlike in the anime where the tent was open), then the king and razen talked for a bit, then one of them opened the tent for a moment to see what’s happening or smth, they noticed the dude just standing still not doing anything,so they wondered wtf is going on, went to touch him and he just falls on the ground dead with a hole in him. THAT is what I was expecting, so the anime actually had me spitting when it happened this way instead.
There are Demon Lords and they can became even stronger by becaming a true demon lord but to become a True Demon Lord there are Req. you have to have a seed to become a true demon lord and rimuru had the seed when he absorb the orc desaster... so insted of becoming a Demon Lord he instantly evolve to a True Demon Lord

There is a difference between a Demon Lord and a True Demon Lord... A True Demon Lord is someone that evolved to that level. A Demon Lord however is someone powerful granted that position by the other Demon Lords. I won't say any more so as not to spoil anything.
