I enjoy how much hardcore makes the game about the leveling process more than the end game. I think it truly creates a better environment/community for busy people hopping on when they have time
Exactly. Plus you will always have people leveling in lower level zones and able to find groups. In regular game everyone is dungeon power leveling and once people get max level they are not leveling again. Here you can be max and end up dead next raid and will be back to leveling again.
Yeah it honestly makes it how they wanted classic to be instead of what it turned out to be which was just everyone begging for runs and gdkp lol. Everything was empty all the time and the servers were always horribly uneven in population
Makes it better for playing with randoms. In softcore vanilla, having friends was way more than enough to 5 team leveling together and running dungeons all the way to 60. We'd all make half a dozen alts or more and level them all to 60 together.

Tried hardcore the other day. It made me fall in love with the game again. Something about the feeling that if you enter a cave you might never Get out, it takes it to another level :)
Now imagine if they made it so infections/diseases lasted longer, you had to eat and drink, and your gear all had weight. I want to see who could even make it to 30.

But there's something that's just so absolutely maddeningly thrilling about succeeding. The other day, my three man group ambushed another three Man Group. We had crappy starter gear but the surprise was so good, we killed all three of them with headshots. Then later on in that same raid, my two buddies were killed in an ambush by a lone guy who was extremely well geared. I got a lucky headshot on him and escaped alive with all that fat loot. I don't care if I die 10 times in a row, I remember stories like that forever. That's why I play that game. You struggle and struggle and struggle, and eventually you become the boogeyman

That druid never Rejuved, never used natures grasp, didn't use a target dummy, clicked a potion from his bag, and broke all the roots 2 secs after they started. That was frustrating to watch, and than subsequently Asmon said he played well.
also another note, like 80% of the players in classic hardcore have zero awareness in a third person view, how am i and a handful of others using left click to pan out the area constantly when attacking a mob.... actually insane how these people get to these levels
That first death made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This is what happens when people are impatient and not paying any attention to the rest of their group. Completely deserving of that death.

You join a group in hardcore that is the risk you take. Who knows there might be a guy who will claim its "judgement day" and wipe your progress out too.
i was the druid who died that wasnt the case at all we were hesitant of the boss in the first place i told them ill pull it back and you can even hear the o shit moment where im like oh i forgot the hunter idk why he chose to walk in but you live and learn

Also you MUST plan each encounter. I am currently playing Hardcore off an on between WoW vanilla classic and each time I go out I plan my attack AND my escape route. I look for which direction has less mobs so if I need to run I go where I won’t aggro additional pats. And if that’s not an option I LFG before proceeding further. Treat hardcore as if you yourself is venturing out there
1 - Hunter tank with pet then himself while druid HS out, then hunter try feign death away then HS. Druid lives 100%, hunter lives 50%. 2 - Should've run away the other way near the mountains there is a safe path out with no mobs. 3 - Bad pull, should have abort it immediatly. Shaman put taunt totem + earthbind totem while they run away, both lives. 4 - Listen to gnomes, gnomes are smart. 100% survive chance increase. 5 - They survived, well played. 6 - As soon as you see a dragon flying towards you, use feign death and survive, bind it to a shortcut keyboard for increased reactivity. 7 - LOS, CC root / slow till mob cast again and LOS again, you can't die playing mage. 100% could have survive easily. 8 - Aggro the pirate on the right first with cc stab for 2pc + instant rupture then switch target to the caster to Blind it and continue your melee fight behind the tree to LOS when caster is freed. Easy chain 1v1 fight and survive. 9 - Survived, well played but could have remove buff thorns to decrease pursuit aggro range. 10 - Fight on the bridge for easy jump when needed to have time to bandage. Disarm the last one when fighting on the water when he arrives and win the fight. 11 - Always eat mage food before doing something crazy, it's free bc it's a conjuration and you'll notice if there's a delayed reaction. Bad luck, should not have died but you should know if you're prone to lagging and play carefully knowing it. 12 - Survived, well played. Did they aggro because a summon/pet was not dismissed when jumping down ? 13 - Went the wrong way to the room so chain pull happened this way. Then went the wrong way running away. Unfortunately, two wrongs don't cancel each others in HC Classic.

Our bingo lists are out at the beginning of everyone of these uploads and so far I am 100% on deaf guesses and the really sad part is mages have some of the biggest tool kits to get out of these shenanigans they put themselves into and it’s like they go blind to half of their abilities. Mages are likely the best and safest class to play in HC. Thats why tons of Mages do aoe leveling or limit their abilities to 1 school of magic while leveling. Only way to get sense of danger.

tbf, playing a mage without aoe grind is just painful. it's unbearble doing "2 mobs and drink to full" all the way to 60. I have one mage in classic. When I was leveling I grinded every spot i knew. I thought about questing every now and then, wouldn't last 20 min before i decided to aoe grind again. I'd rather play warrior than playing single target mage in classic, if i will ever play wow again.

Was taking out grizzled bears in Darkshore and a 17 moonstalker that I couldn’t see around the tree joined the party. I hamstringed them both and ran. Got stunned once and dazed but made it out with 27 health.
For years I kept remembering it as just the hunters that were stupid in Vanilla WoW. The last few months have reminded me that warriors were by far the most moronic players in the game for a long time. We just desperately needed them, so were willing to overlook / put up with it until TBC when we could replace them.
I would watch these everyday to see what not to do. Me a 20 mage only gotten has far as I have by watching these xD I have leanred more of what not to do. I forgot that wall blows people up haha

All that warrior had to do was use Intimidating Shout and Bandage. Both were still up.

For years I kept remembering it as just the hunters that were stupid in Vanilla WoW.
The last few months have reminded me that warriors were by far the most moronic players in the game for a long time.
We just desperately needed them, so were willing to overlook / put up with it until TBC when we could replace them.
