She never really had many problems except with her hearing and vision at age 20-25. The last 5 years she never really declined. We were lucky to not have any internal organ failures and things along those lines.

11 years later and RUclips has called us to memorial of the 30 year old cat.
One year later: look below to witness people on the Internet get angry about someone else on the Internet making a statement.
In reality, you're angry based on the preconceived notion that this comment was made from some self serving gain. To which I'll drop this little info dump on you, it was made so we can discus the fact that RUclips had brought to light a long lived that that lived longer than expected.
I'd tell you to grow up but considering you are all either several years younger or several years older, I think a better lesson to be had is to not assume things.
Anyhow, back to the original point of this comment - holy shit RUclips showed me a crazy old cat from 12, years ago, how cool.

@@awembaweawembawe6116 Every facility has their own policies, but speaking generally, yes. Every service has a charge. You're paying for the expertise to make it a peaceful and smooth process. Veterinary (doctorate) degrees don't come cheap. I'm sure if any professional were asked to do a service for free, that probably wouldn't work well. Also, the cost is for the drugs involved. At the end of the day, we can only help pets if we keep the lights on. If a loved one (human) is undergoing surgery and they die, do you think they'll not charge anything? If someone is on hospice care, do you think there's no cost associated with that? I DON'T mean to sound cold. Believe me, I VERY much understand where you're coming from. That's why we try to keep our euthanasia costs as low as we can. We recognize that this is especially not a time to try and gouge people for money. Again though, every facility has their own protocols. Some charge more if owners want to be present. Some charge more for sedation. To me, that's a horrible thing! If you're tight on money and elect to not have your pet sedated prior to euthanasia, if they go down "rough," the owner is going to feel awful for not paying the little bit extra. Plus, that's not the last memory you want to have with your beloved fur baby. Sedation is always done by us. It's just included in the cost to ensure things are as peaceful as possible. Moreover, after the owners leave, we try to make paw prints for the owners. These get mailed with sympathy cards to the owners. These aren't things we need to do, but again, we want owners to have as good of memories as possible. Every bit takes time though, too. Realistically, utilizing an exam room and staff to ensure everything is taken care of appropriately....unfortunately in the real world, everything has costs associated with it. Like I said, we DO NOT nickel and dime people, especially at these times. It's just a matter of being realistic. Sorry for the long explanation but i just wanted to try and be thorough and clear. Hope that makes sense.

Bro Listen to me. I’m so sorry for your loss since I also miss my cat but I came to the conclusion that We need death.
You may think I m crazy but I absolutely mean it.
When my cat died I also wished he d live forever but then I think “ Why I loved him so much?”. And the answer is that I loved her because her life was limited.
Just imagine what would have happened if someone told you that you would have stayed with your cat forever.
I think I would not have loved my cat like I did because I would have took her for granted. It s sad to say but we need death so we can appreciate life and everything that comes with it.

My cat passed away earlier this year on the 7th of January after three long months of fighting back brain tumor. My country is barely advanced in terms of pet care, so we don't have an animal brain surgeon in the country itself. It was heart rending. He was fighter to the end, but the waiting and the balancing between hope and despair is crippling. I didn't want to put him down, I want to see through all possible method to save him. But in the end, his insides had rotten, he barely ate and probably couldn't digest his recovery meal well, and finally when I combed him, his fur came off too easily. I knew then that he no longer able to fight, his immunity had fallen. So, after a moment of processing this fact, I decided to let him go.
I didn't share the days of watching him slowly withering because I feel that it isn't something I should talk about. But now that a few months have passed, I found talking about him therapeutic.

We have 25 year old cat Jasmine. She doesn't walk much and her fur looks horrible, even worse than this. She won't let me brush her much, let alone to take a bath. She is a happy cat though, she has 2 friends now (my new two two year old cats).
    Rest in Peace, Ashley cat.

My grandfather cat lived 24 years. Nobody knew his real age, my grandparents pick up him from street 🐈‍⬛
I remember him from childhood, he be very smart, gentle and brave. When grandparents live in country house by summer, he fight with all cats around. His name be Sharkey in honor of Captain Sharkey (one of Conan Doyle literature characters).

My eldest cat is now 7 years old. I found her as a newborn on a rainy day in an alley, and I would wake up as early as 4 am to feed her and put her back to sleep. She's my baby. From time to time, the thought of her growing old and me moving on with my life without her breaks my heart. I'll never be prepared for that moment. 🥺😢

@@milesrn2312 Aw I'm sorry to hear that. 💔 Mine looks well and healthy, thankfully. I had her spayed so she never leaves the house on her own.

Man, that cat was older in this video than I am currently. And I'm a grown ass man who's graduated college and has a 3 year old son. That's insane.

That’s pretty amazing your cat was able to live that long . It’s heartbreaking when we have to let our loved ones go. I’m never ready when my dogs die , it sucks but sadly that’s life. We just gotta treasure the time we have with one another. :)

You just need to remember that you will also be deceased one day, and you might underestimate how long it will take.

You are an immensely good human for not discarding her, just because she's old and frail. Too many people discard pets when they become old, preferring the eternal kitten. I can't express how low I'm bowing down to you.

We lost our female cat Princess in May, 2023. The same day she was euthanized we got another shelter cat. Tomie, our "new" male, age 5 was glad we didn't wait. We are so used to two (or more) cats, we couldn't face returning home to our one remaining feline name Tigger.
