I recently completed a 2-month upgrade process on my 2022 Kaabo Wolf King GT, and it's transformed the scooter into a completely new vehicle!
While the scooter is fantastic, the stock Chinese brakes leave a lot to be desired. After installing Magura MT7 Raceline brakes on my Canyon Nerve 5500w e-bike, I realized I wanted the same great braking power for the WKGT. That led me down the rabbit hole...
Hundreds of hours later, with hair pulled out, lots of angle grinding done, and many swear words expended, I finally got it done. The Magura MT5E (Higo Closer) brakes are WORLDS better than the stock brakes.
Was the work and PITA worth it? Absolutely! The great brakes transform the scooter's performance, and the upgrade from stock off-road tires to the ULIP hybrid off-road is also an amazing improvement. Quieter, smoother, with less rolling resistance and less rider fatigue.
So if you're thinking about upgrading your WKGT with Magura brakes, this how-to video is a must watch. I wish it had existed when I started this project - it would've saved many, many hours of work and frustration.

Thank you for this video! You're probably the ONLY person ever to show the disassembly of these brakes and how to put them on a scooter.
This is what I needed to hear about those tires. They look amazing, but your review of them is the only one I have found and it was fantastic.

@@CoolWatts You think they're tougher than a typical tire? I'm going to install the version with tubes, on a split rim Nanrobot. I'm hoping it will be easier
@@elliotbaltazar Can't tell about longevity yet, but rubber on tread and sides is quite thick.
@@CoolWatts LOL! Thanks, but I meant do you think they're tougher to change than a typical tire? I was asking because you said they're a pain in the ass to install. I think you had such a tough time because you had tubeless and your rim wasn't a split rim. I'll be using the tubes, and my rim splits in two. I shouldn't have to struggle with tire spoons and fighting to get the tire to take air.
@@elliotbaltazar Can't compare as these are the first scooter tires I've changed. If you're doing with split rim, it'll be MUCH easier. Kaabo had to design this better for maintenance, with a split rim and connectors for motor/wheel removal. They took a step in the right direction with the GTR which has split rims.

Thanks so much for posting this. I purchased all the kit to attempt to do this and gave up, so sold on all the parts. I then purchased the GTR model and would love to look at it again to see how this differs for the GTR model compared to GT. The Front brake rotor is now on the opposite side compared to the GT so hoping this helps missing out one step in reversing the front wheel. The tyres being 12". Would be good to get your opinion in worth the investigation of trying MT5e on the GTR...of course there is no content out there for the GTR.

Hey man, I am currently trying to fit mt5 estop for my t107 pro electric scooter. When reversing the banjo do you have to cut the old one or can you unscrew it and replace it with the good sized one?

I cut the tube and re-terminated with the Goodridge banjo.

Nope, the mt5e Higo closer connect to the stock connectors, and work same as stock levers. Activates Regen and brake lights.
