      Me at seeing Transformers is #2: Really? Thundercats is #1? I mean, it was good, but Transformers was better, and what about Voltron, maybe it's #1? How could either one of them be left off the list!?
      Me at seeing Muppet Babies at #1: WHAT THE FUCK!?!? Neither of them are on the list!? Bullshit!
      It's bad enough there's no room for Inspector Gadget, but Muppet Babies, nor Care Bears should be on the list. I would have tolerated Strawberry Shortcake, even though I hated it, it seemed like it was EVERYWHERE along with Jem and the Holograms. But that still leaves out Dungeons & Dragons, and Inhumanoids. And of course if you were a kid in the 80s you didn't know the difference between cartoons and anime and Dragon Ball and Gundam definitely one of the best as well!

    I wasn't around in the 80s, but for me, there's something weirdly nostalgic about it. As a 90s/2000s kid, the 80s were close enough to be familiar, but far enough in time to be wonderfully weird.

      oh really care to explain to me how "good" the characters are in cartoons these days cartoons these days have the stupidest and most unimaginative characters not to mention the storylines in today's cartoons make little to no sense the villains arnt really threatening mainly do to parents whining hell you can't even have love be in a cartoon these days because it would be wrong for kids to learn about love (especially true in anime aimed at kids pokemon is good example of that as well as Sonic X)

    • @hunterhellfire848
      @hunterhellfire848 8 лет назад +5

      So you're gonna pretend like shows like Tom & Jerry, the Flintstones and Looney Tunes don't exist? If you think only the 90s had good cartoons then you know very little about cartoons and their history. The best cartoons came out long before the 1990s and that is fact! The 1990's could considered a second golden era, but certainly not the best.

      It seems some fans have FINALLY "got out of the woodwork" (what an OUTRAGEOUS accomplishment!). Normally you'd seen that WM would get ~ 6-8 of the 10 for most tastes, but in this case for this 3 1/2 y/o list (at the time I've typed this) I'd bet they didn't get even 3 of them right in the minds of most fans, including this one that watched those cartoons when they were new...
      At least JatH got a HONORABLE MENTION in WM's cartoon theme song list and I'd dare to say JatH deserved at least a bottom 3 post (8-10th) on this list (before some get into their "cheesiness", most cartoons from the era were at least as cheesy, judging by WM's comments on both He-Man and She-Ra).

      I agree, Garfield and Friends was a real laugh riot then and now. Inspector Gadget likewise had some great laughs from and some action too. Plus unlike many cartoons of the past it holds up well even after all these years. Dare I say it but Inspector Gadget and The Real Ghostbusters are to this day both iconic cartoons from the 1980's and two of the most popular shows DIC ever produced.

    Seriously Muppet Babies #1? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles should be #1!
    My favorites from the 80s (even some continued in the 90s):

    Hey Vern, It's Ernest!
    Inspector Gadget
    Dennis the Menace
    The Flintstone Kids/Captain Caveman and Son
    Muppet Babies
    Garfield and Friends
    Captain N: The Game Master
    The Legend of Zelda
    The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
    Beetlejuice
    Alvin and the Chipmunks
    The Smurfs
    My Little Pony
    Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears
    The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
    A Pup Named Scooby-Doo
    The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show
    Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers
    Duck Tales

      @user-si9fx4xb6v 6 лет назад

      Indeed, they were. Really hope that since Disney owns the Muppets, Muppet Babies with finally get a proper DVD release. The biggest hurdle is negotiating with the rights holders of the movies and television shows they used clips from. A few years back, DVD's were included with some Muppet Babies plush toys but the episodes that were on the discs were randomly picked from across the seasons. With the new Muppet Babies on Disney Jr. it only makes sense to release the original show. If the 1966 Batman tv show can get a release on DVD so can Muppet Babies.

    To me He-Man should have been number one. Because it helped kids talk about things. Any show that can get abused kids to open up is more than a show. Its a great and wonderful gift. She-Ra would be my number two.

      @AshleyBaldinoHasMuffins 10 лет назад

      Well, I think it was based of iconicness, popularity, and university, not how it benefited people in the real world, but I may be wrong... for example, I had never heard of She-Ra until I watched this video, but most people know who the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are.

    It is true that He-Man and other 1980's cartoons that were done by Filmation were cheaply done in terms of the use of limited animation, but at least they weren't animated in Third-World East Asian/South-East Asian countries by animators who got paid _next-to-nothing_ (the Filmation cartoons of the 1980's were *_still_* animated in the U.S.A.!).
