@@franklyputyes, but the whole sound design of this track leading into it at the end, as cliche’ as some might see/hear it as, is absolutely fucking belting. I just came from The Amenta (local Aussie extreme metal if you haven’t heard em’ before! Definitely recommend if you like the sound of contempt for humanity and bleak blackness), and that breakdown really is a gem. The guitar tones. The drums. Everything about it is a very well oiled machine in misery signals. I frickin love ultraviolet too. Easily tops this album for me. But this breakdown. Sheesh.
1:03 through 1:37 is probably the most intelligently crafted, epic piece of music ever written. Simply amazing, I was blown away. Much too short though.
In my humble oppinion, this is one of those examples where as mentioned previously in another users post, the listener is actually using good taste and not media hype or any sort of propoganda (i.e. blasting the same damn song on the radio every 45 minutes). It's with a happy heart and uplifted soul that I have the opportunity to listen to some of the musical gold these obscure and wonderful metal bands have produced. August Burns Red, Oh Sleeper, Chimaira, Misery Signals, The Human Abstract, The Sorrow, Born of Osirus...these are only a handful of the bands that make my hair stand on end and tug at the emotional strings of my heart...Many a time I have been brought to tears by the beauty of a particular song or even a riff or breakdown Ive never really noticed before. The lyrics of Oh Sleeper have and still do cause me to weep often...anyways, like I said, just my oppinion but I agree. Congrats on not being part of the herd. "We are the voice and the clarion call - We are the the tyrants ruin and the rival's fall." "Let there be no shine to your armor. Let it speak of the blows received while standing for honor."
I have always loved misery signals since i was in high school back in the day...they have evolved so much since then...always an amazing change love their style
"Luminary" Let shine the dimmest light I barely see you through the fog that will not lift Show yourself the way I knew you With no fear of being pulled by the undertow into gaping holes You were someone I believed in Few return the same men as they left You led me through hell my constant north You were someone I believed in To keep you in the sky, untouchable All that they promised you will drag you under To keep you in the sky, untouchable All that they promised you will drag you down under the sea Stay what you are to me I'm losing you A lantern growing dark To keep you in the sky, untouchable All that they promised you will drag you under True colors painted over You were someone I believed in As they lower the veil The stars no longer guide us Deserted by ghosts of virtue Scraping the bottom
There was emotion, but the instruments were like a well-oiled machine. It was relentless and passionate at the same time. I suppose it's easy to miss the latter when skimming through the album. "Coma" and "Ebb and Flow" are incredibly full of emotion.
this time they've gone to far. Amazing. Some bands are the musical pylons of our age. An older guy could understand when the older bands of the 80's are married with the new age music. In between them some bands really hold all the weight of the music history.
YES this is brilliant!!! i'm so glad I was able to support these guys through crowdfunding. Cant wait till i receive the vinyl boxset, i told myself i wouldnt spoil anything of the new album but i couldnt help looking up at least one song..... and I'm glad I did, I'm even more stocked now :D BUT I thought they got sick of getting screwed over by record companies and now here they are , back with another record company..... basick must be very friendly towards their bands then i guess :P
I think it's because they want the official release to be on whatever site paid them to release it for all the internet user hits. Just a guess, but it will be listed after a while.
Basically its not a kind of music. Breakdowns are commonly used in metal bands playing anything from Metalcore to Deathcore, and also just hardcore. A breakdown is a passage in a song to 'break' it up. Only to blast harder straight after :)
This year's Album of the Year for me will be tough to decide... This, the new Cloudkicker, Soilwork, The Safety Fire, Tesseract, Scale the Summit, August Burns Red, Bring me the Horizon, Dillinger Escape Plan... Welp, at least I'm headbanging all year.
I saw these guys back in the day at Worcester palladium when controller came out bought a Milwaukee bucks misery signals jersey and was a shit show human being.....SUBSTANCES...they'll get yah. anyways was sitting here and saw an if these trees could talk abum cover that looked like controller and remembered then found out about this release today....PUMPED glad to hear this album didn't move in the direction of so many other bands move in a poor direction...this is badass
I hope they polish the mix a little more before release. The only thing I don't like about the mix is the kick drum sound. They need to roll off the highs a little and also cut some 100-120hz or so to make it sit better in the mix. This is by far the best recording they have had tho. The song is awesome.
ABR is awesome. There is emotion here, but moreso in the lyrics than anything. I think it fits the relentless pace Mis Sigs sets with many of their songs. I hear the emotional tone more when I listen to Migrate or Coma. To each their own, though!
Haste the Day had the high pitch zao like scream, but I agree the scream is monotone like haste the days, just not the same pitch. My favorite screamer is Jake Luhrs from abr.
Have you listened to Controller? That album has amazing lyrics and vocals. Everyone has their own opinion but I'm sorry I just don't see how you could say he has not emotion on that album.
Wow, I thought these guys disbanded, though according to wiki it seems they were writing new material since 2011? I guess I was really out of the loop then. Oh well, great song.
2:35 is by far the best breakdown I've ever heard in anything ever. Wtf.
I mean, it's pretty run of the mill for any early 00's metalcore

That breakdown at 2:35 is so fckng killer
This album and song still fucking hit hard all these years later. Jesus christ I can't get enough
Much thanks to this album for carrying me through dark times 👍
This song murders everything ever
Xo
My favorite band.would love to see them live.but I'm in n.c., so not gonna happen
YES!
Revisiting since MS are gonna bring out some fresh stuff soon
And they delivered!
"Luminary"
Let shine the dimmest light
I barely see you through the fog that will not lift
Show yourself the way I knew you
With no fear of being pulled by the undertow into gaping holes
You were someone I believed in
Few return the same men as they left
You led me through hell my constant north
You were someone I believed in
To keep you in the sky, untouchable
All that they promised you will drag you under
To keep you in the sky, untouchable
All that they promised you will drag you down under the sea
Stay what you are to me
I'm losing you
A lantern growing dark
To keep you in the sky, untouchable
All that they promised you will drag you under
True colors painted over
You were someone I believed in
As they lower the veil
The stars no longer guide us
Deserted by ghosts of virtue
Scraping the bottom

Come back guys!! We need you
so happy MS is back .i've been waiting so long for new material and they didn't disappoint. beautiful.

To keep you in the sky untouchable. All that they promised will drag down under the sea!!!!
Sometimes songs and videos are released unlisted, just to see how far it spreads via word of mouth and direct links instead of through searches.
Oh god, I can't even imagine! I haven't seen them yet, but if I do I hope they play this.
Unmistakable vocals, glad these guys are back
His solo project Solace is awesome too. Karl is a beast.
Oh yeah!! This is great! Gotta say.. I've got huuuge expectations with these guys ever since Controller and this is an awesome progression
First time listening, saw a status one of my mates put up and gave these guys a listen... SO GLAD I DID! They rock! :D
I can't get enough of this track
I'm so happy that they are using their original sound and adding to it with new :)
to keep you in the sky... untouchable
all that they promised you, will drag you down under the sea
new misery signals soon please !!?!!? the world needs real music.
Phil Pacific , your wish will soon be granted! 👏🏻
Andrew Jackson , absolutely truth!
Early 2020! All original members!
Glad you like Michael! What you think of the show?
Basick are only distributing in the UK. New Damage Records are releasing it in the US.
This sounds something like progressive death metal... I love it!
Really nothing death metal about this. good song regardless
I will check it out, thanks
i turn it up more every riff
Holy shit! This may very well be the best comeback from any band. Ever. Period.
Perfect fit for Basick, and one of the best in their roster.
Those first 20 seconds.. thats one technical intro! Love it
makes sense.
already the best thing ever 50 seconds into it
Perfect song. Perfect band.
Saw these guys live yesterday
i was waiting for this shit a long long time, !!!!! but finally
i'm so happy with your comeback
Cheers from Colombia
I only hope folks realize that most of the melodic-hardcore bands they like these days wouldn't be around if not for this band. Forefathers.
Awesome song.
No words to describe
This is Mirrors-esque... So happy to hear!
I like loud kicks too, its just the way the sit in the mix.
So glad they're back.
I have to mop up my melted face every time I listen to this,
YES this is brilliant!!! i'm so glad I was able to support these guys through crowdfunding. so glad you made another album, so good, keep that shit coming.
holy fuck that breakdown towards the end.... what the fuck
Do you by any chance now what that is called? I like music like that
Clark min What do you mean exactly? Ive been, I am and I always will be a metalcore fanatic, guess I can help you out if you can be more specific
What kind of music is it when that break down comes in? The heavy, heavy part
Basically its not a kind of music. Breakdowns are commonly used in metal bands playing anything from Metalcore to Deathcore, and also just hardcore. A breakdown is a passage in a song to 'break' it up. Only to blast harder straight after :)
Ah, well thanks for the info! The more you know
Aaron Cook. Agreed. I had shivers when 1:26 hit
Wow that hoodie pre-order package looks awesome. I need some other colors in my closet other than black anyway, haha.
However they do it, it's always sick. This is epic sick right here. You'll get used to it and you'll love it. That is not a request.
Oh awesome! Thanks for the friendly info, much appreciated :D
Perfect
CAN'T WAIT!!!
Unbelievable tune.
I like it.
Love the sound of the double kick. More of a punch than a boom, if that makes sense.
amazing it's perfect thx guys
This year's Album of the Year for me will be tough to decide... This, the new Cloudkicker, Soilwork, The Safety Fire, Tesseract, Scale the Summit, August Burns Red, Bring me the Horizon, Dillinger Escape Plan... Welp, at least I'm headbanging all year.
Thank you Based Basick.
We like to think so ;)
yeah, this is what we've been waiting for!
If you haven't listened to ERRA, I suggest you do. Their new album drops on Oct. 29th.
I've waited years.
Misery Signal just got pissed! Love it!
this was one of the best miss clicks ever
1:25 and on is just like... omg, perfect.

and....they're back.
YES! YES! YES!
We NEVER fuck around ;)
Nice
Anyone know why they decided to keep this videos unlisted??
fucking love the orchestral in this
225 likes to 0 dislikes. This is probably a successful comeback, right?
Wht do you mean good enough its fuckin epic the musicianship is phenomenal
How do you know this is from the mastered album?
But whats the problem with the loud kicks? I´ve seen lots of comments complaining about the kicks. I prefer loud kicks than loud voice.
Have you listened to Controller? That album has amazing lyrics and vocals. Everyone has their own opinion but I'm sorry I just don't see how you could say he has not emotion on that album.
Why is this unlisted?
I
They're pretty good.
1:26 is so fucking incredible, I am so amazed listening to this song :)
They've asked fans to learn the lyrics, especially 1:04 (a chorus), so I would assume they're playing it on tour.
*ahem*... and Europe ;)
This is good shit.
Please put out a new album. Fuck, I'll even help pay for it! I have money! Please!
Karl is gone ):
Canada* ;P
Wow, I thought these guys disbanded, though according to wiki it seems they were writing new material since 2011? I guess I was really out of the loop then.
Oh well, great song.
Right, because its impossible to get good audio quality on youtube.
Mirrors pt 2?
Anyway this is amazing as I expected it to be.
Anthrax, Deftones, Korn, Misery Signals some bright examples
The pit on that break down will be freak nasty when they tour.
