Just got QOTMS from their merch store. The production is a bit flat, understandable considering it's an independent album, but it really is stunning musically. Lots of headphone ear candy that you don't get from the live version.

There are so many things I love about this particular video:
    1. Dany and Pau sharing lead vocals.
    2. Ale’s 2-3-Go!
    3. During Pau’s interlude she lays her sticks on her snare to maximize her stage presence by her arm articulation.
    4. The crowd work. When they are free playing and Dany turns to Pau to resume the click.
    5. #NumberlyGarfs
    6. The abrupt ending.
That doesn’t take into account the driving beat of the song and the remarkable writing and vocals throughout.

To do what Pau does, pat your head, rub your stomach, jump up and down on one foot, then belt out a song in tune, on key, in rhythm with everything else you are doing keeping the legato notes from getting broken by your actions. Simple, right? Pau apparently sings while running or doing other exercise to keep up her lung capacity for her singing while drumming. She has talked about her drumming is automatic so she can focus on her singing.

This was the opening song when I saw them. Everyone in the crowd was so pumped and was singing along. When I saw them, Ale was playing through Ampeg, but a few months later at the MTV VMAs, she was playing through Orange.
During one of Pau’s Instagram lives, she was asked how she can play and sing at the same time. Her only answer was “practice.” The first video on their channel is a much younger Pau playing a tiny kit and singing along with a Hannah Montana song. It’s just something she’s always done.

    • @PaleHorseShabuShabu
      @PaleHorseShabuShabu 10 месяцев назад +2

Also, there’s a video out there where Pau talks about how she doesn’t have perfect time. Ale, however, does have that natural sense of timing and gives Pau a look whenever those drums go off.
Lastly, the look that Dany gives Pau at 7:19 is telling her to turn the click back on. Pau controls it on her laptop that’s next to her, and it was turned off for the audience participation section.

All you can do is try your best. I was at the London show which was the last show of their European tour and I know that they were tired. The song begins so strongly, when I first heard it I wasn't sure I liked it because of how it slows down, before speeding up again. Of course this is intentional and is an element of the hook. Of course I love the song. They're an amazing band.

  • @chriso6719

Hey Bob, I love this song because you get lead vocals from all 3, Dany and Pau on co-lead, and the "2,3, Go!" is Ale's line. And , yes, that killer bass intro, and 1 of my favorite drum fills. Pau is very good at singing while drumming, there are a bunch of songs where she sings lead on the entire song. As for her stamina, she practices singing while running.
To hear a song with Pau singing lead, try "Dust To Dust", "Narcisista"(1 of their 2 Spanish language songs), "23", or "Revenant". All were played at this same Teatro Metropolitan 2022 concert.

I love this song. I think Pau can do all these incredible multi-tasking things because she had the passion and the drive to be doing it since she was 6. No one ever old her she couldn't except for her (ex)friends that told her she was wasting her time. But her family never told any of them that what they wanted to do was too hard. Nor did they push them, these young ladies are stubborn and determined and if they couldn't do something they worked at it until they could. I'll support these sisters Always, as professor Snape would say.

Great reaction to the band that best presents their live performances... Their way is masterful.
    DPA...
They have a formidable innate talent, each one of them. Innate but with practice taken to the sublime.
Despite their youth, they already have a lot of experience on their path in addition to their great preparation since they were children.
Their attitude, discipline and will to achieve their goals are leading them to great, well-deserved achievements.
    Daniela, Paulina y Alejandra…
They are still on the road to the top, but with too much potential, enough to think it will be inevitable.
Furthermore, the volume of quality that each of their creations implies is great… and the number of songs that carry said quality is enormous, which for me could be “The Warning label”.
I’m sure that each of their creations is subjected to a meticulous quality process before finally seeing the light…
And not only in the technical aspect, but we have also already proven that they have an exquisite taste for good music that emanates from them when they become inspired and creative.
Added to all this is that they are surrounded by an excellent family and fraternal team totally committed to their project…
And they have a fan base, “The Warning Army”, tremendously loyal to them that is decisively involved in supporting them because they have deservedly earned it for being incredible and surprising human beings.
Knowing this will give you a much better perspective to better value Dany, Pau and Ale, and maybe you will understand that TW is not just a band of talented girls who make good songs…
No, it's about music, really art with the brilliance of a "masterpiece" created and performed by three genius performers from an early age who have been developing and evolving by leaps and bounds.
The beauty of their art lies in its simplicity.
Each of these amazing rock masterpieces must be appreciated in all its dimensions and then be surprised again that they are creations of those who have wonderful talent but who, due to their age, still have much more talent to develop.
They are already admirable but their potential increases exponentially as they achieve success.
As long as all this continues to flow with this equation they will soon reach the top of the world where they deserve to be.
We're always looking for more from our favorite band of all time.
Thanks and regards from México!! 🇲🇽

So there are lots of bands out there with maybe more technical flash, epic riffing, showoff playing...but NO band with better music. Just one great earworm song after another. And full of musical "moments", which you await...like, 2...3...GO! Everything the girls do is to serve the song, not their individual pkaying.
This particular version of Disciple is the best. I love how Dany includes the crowd in the singing, then lashes into the second somple riff before "ohohoh hear my calling". She usually doesn't do that, but it is SO effective. She should always do that live! Por favor Dany!

@@bobcieslinski Oh certainly I could go on and on...like diving into songs, deconstructing and reconstructing them. Like Amour, a personal favorite, which I did once in recommending it...the lyric version of Amour is great, but misses the sweet sting of Dany's guitar in the prechorus, which stands out in live versions. But the lyric version emphasizes Ale's loping bass line in the chorus. And Dany's luscious French pronunciation in the bridge...like I said I could go on...

I said 'one of', not 'the greatest that's ever existed'. There exists a pretty comprehensive history of her playing, going back many years, that show that even when she was in elementary school, she could out play a lot of adult musicians.

You asked how Pau can sing and play like she does. All three are treat their craft like professional athletes. They practice the music chops, study music, but all have hard core physical training regiments. However Pau is rumored to do wind sprints and sing as hard as she can at the same time. Dani jogs and sings at the same time.

True limb independence on the drums is tricky on its own; then to throw in not just harmonizing, but full lead vocals, AND Pau also projects so much personality. Pau is really talented and has worked so very hard to do it as well as she does; it's such a joy to watch.

They really know how to construct a rock song that sticks in your head, as they seem to do it consistently. Then they give a flawless live performance. Such a tight-knit unit, and the drummer is an absolute phenom. Holding a beat while singing is hard enough, let alone throwing in fast fills. It's almost scary that they are only going to get better.

Basically when Pau started playing drums she started singing while doing it. Same with Dany. If you look when they were small Pau sings an AC/DC song while playing and she sings lead. The recording isn’t great and she definitely has a child’s type voice but she is singing while playing drums. Ale can sing lead and has when Dany needs a break, but she hates it. She prefers to sing back up.

It seems all 3 girls have been able to tap into parts of their brain that an avg person doesnt have access too.
Its been scientificly proven that normal everday people only use a small percentage of their brain.
I think Pau especially has somehow accessed more of her brain to be able to drum and sing flawlessly. To do somthing different with all 4 limbs while singing complicated lyrics is almost like something that is super human. Dany does the same with difficult guitar riffs and complicated lyrics..its pretty amazing.
