I can enjoy both versions when I think of them as two unique songs that are unrelated to each other except for the lyrics. That way you don't get caught up in comparing the two versions. Because you can't. They're so different, and both great
The original and this remake have such different moods, at first it didn't click with me, but after listening to it on repeat over and over, it has really grown on me. Especially 2:28 - 3:44 is just so beautiful...
It's good to hear that Guano Apes got back to their roots. It was my favourite band as a teenager in late 90's. Their recent stuff was too "soft and pop" for me, but these remakes/remasters are just spot on! Nostalgic, energetic, feels good to listen to. We, "old" fans can't wait for some new guitar oriented material from "The Apes" :)

IMO, The "Rain" is a metaphor refering to the ancient times. Without rain could be no prosperity, only drought and famine. She could be talking to the Lord, "sending out" her wishes, but it could be the person she loves or cares about.

I love sound guano apes, but this version... only reflection late Linkin Park and Korn. No energy no emotion like original. Only my personal opinion. Respect and love for Guano Apes
