The first half of the ruclips.net/user/postUgkx3ICSK6nSknaL_45CU2NmFSoXjarGMDiJ book is everything about wood: types, tools, finishes, setting up shop etc. The second half is all about doing projects for inside and outside of the home. The color pictures are helpful. After reading a dozen of these types of books, this is probably the best overall (layout, color photos, plans). Only detraction is that many of the projects use a table saw/router/planer, which are usually expensive and take up space, so the plans are less friendly to newcomers and the budget conscious. But I know I can use a drill, circular saw or a jigsaw to make the projects.
I was really tired of videos on youtube about using epoxy resin on tables ... I started watching videos of using white concrete with visible stones and I thought it was fantastic and decided to go to my workshop at the end of this month to make a wooden table, epoxy and concrete ... and you bring me the pleasant surprise of seeing you make a table although smaller than the one I'm designing, but you made it! I was afraid it would be a bad idea, but now that I see it I'm excited about the result! A big hug from Brazil! (We are having a difficult time here, with a terrible president and COVID19, and woodwork has been my escape for such difficult days). Gratitude!
@@modustrial if only because I'm living vicariously through your experiences and maybe someday I will have the opportunity to have a place like that of my own.
I do GFRC for a living. You do awesome work, but here's a small but helpful hint. You could get a clean face on the inside of the legs if you spray the melamine before clamping it to the bench, its also best to do a Light coat of backer over the face so it stays moist. Then pour your backer to fill in the legs, I'd even make it a little more wet than you had it just to ensure there's no air pockets. This will eliminate any pockets or holes on the inside of the leg. Hope it helps!
I don't have the hands-on skills nor the patience to do anything like this myself, but I enjoy watching these! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your loft and seeing all the pieces you create for your new space! The work I've seen you create so far is art.
This is super interesting! My mind immediately went 'wood - concrete - epoxy' and maybe a few holes in the concrete side for the epoxy to get purchase and add structure. This wasn't what I was expecting and as always... I'm blown away! You killed it again. You're really making your own niche, finding your own voice as a maker and growing the skills you need to let that voice sing. This is a song and a half. So unique, so cool.. so you. Hope the reno is going well, and hope you're safe! - Dante Antonio
...Never have I wanted a coffee table so much. Imagine one of these but with some sort of diffused LED strip in the epoxy portion - a warm glow would look great!
New Sub....i binge watched all your videos last night, kind of a shocker considering that I am a 18 year old FEMALE who's interested in make up and nail. Love the vids!!!!
i'm actually looking forward to seeing how you renovate your new building. such a fascinating place to live and work and i'm sure it will be an amazing home once you've finished it. love the table also . Good luck
Add a loft tour. Keep doing the style of work and construction you are doing. The details and product brands are great. So we can ask for same products in hardware stores.
I'm not mechanically inclined, but your videos make me feel like I can handle doing a few projects one of these days. Thank you for making such good quality content and seeming so genuine with your commentary and instruction. Stay safe!
Awesome job Mike! Love the guitar playing in the background. Word of advice, dont burn yourself out on the renovation projects. I did with my workshop build and having a tough time getting back to knife making/blacksmithing.
Wow such a beautiful and technical build! Experience needed for wood, epoxy and concrete. So many things that could have gone wrong. Kudos for pulling it off! Mahalo for sharing! : )
Incredible design and project yet again Mike! Really love the mixed mediums and there were so many little tips and tricks in this one! Great stuff and yes, loft tour for sure!
Friggin awesome build dude! So glad I've found another quality builder to add to my list of cool creators. Looking forward to more renovation videos too!

Watched all 18 episodes of the abandoned building reno in 1 day. BRILLIANT!!!! Loved it.
More maker channels need to be like you. owning up to your mistakes, and showing how to learn from them. Nobody is perfect. Love the content!
