OK. So, I'm running a very similar setup. Stock chassis with rails. Got exotech front bumper, aluminum shocks, integy aluminum rear arms, motor guard, front and rear shock towers, and that brace between motor guard/wheelie bar mount and shock tower on top of tranny. Diff locked, pro-line reaction blue dots. Sway bar. MMX 8s and castle 1412 6400kv motor. The motor and esc are new. The issue I've been having is getting rpms up. Running 24t pinion, 84t spur. Have tried 20t, 22t pinions and 86t spur. Getting good 66ft times (1.88-1.89), buy slow in 132, 3.19 44mph last night.
Really it's mph I'm lacking. Guess I'll see if I can get my 26t pinion to fit my st9ck motor plate. Had 24t/86t on it before, btw. So your gear, 25t, right, would fit stock plate I think.
Rtr is a cheaper option even if you want to upgrade it right off the bat. I done the rtr and had to buy the servo, a motor, an esc, a radio and transmitter, plus other things. Go RTR no argument.
Hey good video. Can I pass something on to you? Castle motors especially the 1412 are high spin motor. Put a bigger pinion go down with the spur. Try the gear chart. I can't remember the ratio I'm fighting sleep lol sorry. It's guys on here who can explain. When u paint a body and back it white makes it brighter black darker. Good luck dude. hey i just got into drag racing i use to run my rc for i got hurt i got a log droped on me about 3 years ago an it crushed my pelvic an lowed spin an i am cripple from my waist down an i can track race an bash some but i have been watching this drag racing an now sence i got hurt rc cars is my life i got me a losi 68 ford drag truck an its nice is all i can say an its something i am going to do an only drag race cause i cant do much else you know but i enjoy watching your videos cause you said you are new to the game an there is all these different 13.5 blinky outlaw whats is the class to be in an the rules i have read about them an oh my so i need to pick one so i will be able to move forward in a good build like you thank you an i hope i have not bothered you my friend
Comments are never a bother. So I run strictly in outlaw classes. I'm not keen on all the rules but you can Google any class you are wanting to race in and it will give you the official rule document. I've seen outlaw cars run 1.8s personally so thats what hooked me lol
@@GirthyTikTak so in outlaw class you can run anything you want to am i right on that an can i weight the front of my truck down cause thats all it wants to do is stand up but i have learn that you cant come off the line full trigger i have learnd that i have to get it going just a sec then let it have it an it goes good
I'm trying to figure out a better filming arrangement. Right now I'm using my phone in a small space. But I will be doing more videos and attempting to get better shots and angles. Thanks for the tip bro! And the drag slash will be coming soon.
Drill holes through out your chassis half an inch apart with the biggest drill bit you have laying around .. get rid of the castle esc switch to the r1 digital 3 keep the 6400kv castle motor use 10gauge wire .. get rid of the esc plate and lower the esc as much as u can towards the middle .. grab a 6400mah trinity 220c lipo place it connector side up make sure you get rid of the battery separator plate and use velcro trap the hold it down then add about 5 ounces to the front bumper.. grab yourself the tlr tuned drive shafts for the carpet car.. run 87t spur and a 16 pinon .. as long as you got your launch tuned on your remote and can keep the car straight youll run 1.8-1.7 wvery single time btw delete this comment after seeing it lol
I've tuned my punch control on the MMX8S. I think it was sitting around 30 or 40% but I still have to work on it. The transmitter has no adjustment so it was all in the tune. Also adjusted throttle curve.
@@GirthyTikTak I have the Noble 4 by Fly ski. Very good radio it's not the Sanwa but it's a very close second. Check on here utube the video comparison of the Noble 4 & Sanwa 17. That video made my mind up to get what I could afford @ the time. I'll be getting the Sanwa soon but 4 know I'm getting good time and very good results. I was running 2.5 2.6 at 57-59 now that I'm running the noble and learning it I run a 2.4 @ 62. Slowly getting there I'm getting positive results. Test test test test. Only way you get better and understand your car. 💪🏿👍🏿

I think I have ended up going down to a 78t spur to help with times. Gotta do the slipper eliminator and use a Kimbrough spur though.

The eliminator is something I will buy for every drag vehicle I have from this point on. It does take some getting used to but definitely worth it!
What tires/ rims are you using and bearings you are using?
Stock bearings. Ibelive the wheels are the six shots and the tires are the blue dots.

What transmitter you using
TQI traxxas that came with my drag slash. I'm going to buy either the Sanwa M17 or the Flysky Noble nb4
