For this project build, I made a traditional leather tool bag for a Secret Santa event. There are many different ways to make a traditional tool bag, and for this workshop project, I was looking to make a tool bag that was not only functional, but also had design cues that would make it aesthetically appealing. Making your own leather tool bag is a great shop project, and whether you are a craftsman or beginner, it’s a project that I would encourage you to give it a try, as they are great additions to any workshop - Enjoy!

Stencil? It's a signature or makers mark. A seal signifying you touched the item, own it, or made it.
Over generations items can acquire dozens and each mark helps show its age and authenticity.
Except modern cheap knockoffs of course.

Watching your secret santa's maker video, I got curious about your name since she had to translate it to actual Chinese meaningful words for her gift to you.
I might have gotten everything wrong since I don't know your family origins at all. But here's the bit I wrote on her video making your gift. Huge boulders of salt, I just like words and names, I don't know anything about actual etymology! I just like to google words and see where their roots are.
"I looked up the etymology of Diresta, and it's a fun name to delve into. I assumed it's of Italian origin (because of the "De/Di" at the start) and found possible roots to ancient greek "Aristos", "The Best". As in the best cut of pig meat, or the best crop of wheat. Very agricultural terms. It also leads into Etruscan history and language. That's iron age, 900 BC ancient history. Big deep hole of history, for a simple name!
Anyway, it probably reads as something completely different in current Italian, and it might not even be Italian. But it was a fun little rabbit hole.
And your Mum somehow found Earth, Advantageous, Good place to reach goal. Which is pretty much "The Best" :D"

Normally I stay as far from your channel as I can get after I watched you ruin that canoe that was sent to you. I was a fan but not your biggest fan but I enjoyed watching until you butchered the canoe. So I thought what the heck, he really will put time into his secret Santa gift. Oh well. Raw brass that was never cleaned up after cutting it off. The edges of the leather never burnished, not even slightly. All the little extras you gave had your name on them. It has to have your name on it, doesn't it? And you can't even be bothered to make sure it's centered.
You know what Jimmy Diresta, I wish you the best.. In the future don't rush so much to get stuff done. Think about it, you are putting your name on it. Do you want your name crooked and off center? Do you want to make a $1,500 canoe and leave big puddles of epoxy on the bottom? Everything you own says Diresta. Surprised it's not tattooed on your wife and kids. My New Years Wish for Jim Diresta: May you find happiness in everything you do. Slow down on your projects and enjoy what you are able to do, what has been given to you by our good Lord. You have talent and ability so make them be something you slow down and enjoy and find great happiness in, especially with your children, let them learn and teach then gratitude for what they have been given, whether thru your hard work or the Lords bounty. I would like to one day return to your channel and find a different outlook for you. I'm not trying to be mean. I wish you and your family a Happy New Year. I wish I had a 1/4 of what you do. No, not envy or jealousy. Just a thought. Pat Walls
