As a biracial person with a black mother, there is definitely a difference. You could have the most pro-black parent in the world, but if you dont grow up in a black household how can you really understand black culture. I dont think its segregation or trying to fit in with one or the other, its simply two different expiriences and thats okay. Good coversation💙

There’s def a big difference between having a black mom or white mom when biracial. To have been carried in the womb then raised by a black mom is what unites all of the black community. Most black households are ran by a black mom, while unfortunately the fathers aren’t around as often as the women. So having that black mom experience is literally the one thing we all have in common and connects us. I also feel like a lot of times tee was annoyed during the pod with you winter & gravitated more towards chy . The bullying that darkskin women endured for their skin is not the same as being told you’re not black enough. There’s def a big difference between having a black mom or white mom when biracial. To have been carried in the womb then raised by a black mom is what unites all of the black community. Most black households are ran by a black mom, while unfortunately the fathers aren’t around as often as the women. So having that black mom experience is literally the one thing we all have in common and connects us. It’s also a rule that’s gone back since the beginning of time in a plethora of different cultures, that you are what your mom is. So… yeah 🤷🏻♀️😭
I also always felt that the biracial children born of white moms should absolutely be on the spectrum of white skin shades. Does this spectrum even exist? Lol you know when they line all the black women of Hollywood up on an Ebony magazine. They have Halle berry as the lighter one and Lupita at the other end as the darkest shade. I thought it was interesting when winter said that once you say both your parents are black, that’s the end of the discussion personally, I’ve told people that and they still told me know you’re white, but literally both my parents are black. I love you guys for talking about this because so many people go through this and then it causes you to have kind of like identity problems because people always try to tell you what you are and it confuses you especially coming from a family family, where my father tried to say I wasn’t his kid just because I was super light skin but obviously that was proven wrong people just don’t understand how genetics work.
