The bandana or kerchief is worn by many cultures and for religious practice. The paisley bandanas originated from Paisley, Scotland. The first bandana that was believed to come to America was a gift to George Washington from Martha Washinton. It's said that after the gift, the bandana became popular in America, then again after Rosie the Riveters, "We can do it!" movement, women began wearing them, but all through the last 200 years people have being wearing them, from every culture.
