Wednesday 28/10/2020. Hello "Viandant5". I have been using a Brother MFC-L3750CDW for a few months and have recently succeeded in replacing the original four standard capacity cartridges (TN243) by high capacity cartridges (TN247) in "compatible" version, ... this over the course of the period. 'exhaustion of each of these original cartridges ... and preceded by "simple" "resets" of these cartridges, .... until the visible appearance of an excessive exhaustion of each of these cartridges, ... thus motivating their replacements. I carried out these first "resets" by using the key press combinations allowing to reach the "menu" then to specify the reinitialization of the capacity of each cartridge, with mention of the "standard" capacity of the original cartridges; Then, when it was necessary to insert the "compatible" cartridges of "high capacity", ... I had to operate, ... at least on some of these "compatible" TN247 cartridges, ... the procedure more " closes "cartridge reset ... by correcting the correct initial position of the" reset gear "(based on one of your videos) ... and then correctly selecting the correct capacity via the" menus " to have their "high capacities" recognized. Alas, ... after a few impressions (although correct) having followed the placement of the last of the "compatible" cartridges, I was surprised, after switching on, to receive the message "No toner "... which persists despite all my attempts at new resets by the two processes mentioned previously ... and this on each of the four cartridges, ... since the" message "does not tell me which cartridge is not detectable. I went so far as to check / clean the "contact points" which could, in the printer, allow "physical" detection of the presence of cartridges, ... but this did not bring any improvement. I am very distraught, ... especially because very soon I should be able to materialize other essential impressions, ... as well as document scans ... which are also refused to me by the equipment, ... causes the message "No toner" to be displayed immediately after switching on the equipment. Can you provide me with other ways to resolve this "problem" ??? Thanks in advance. PROOT Guy 8-) "guy.proot@gmail.com"
There is no need to perform a reset procedure when you insert a new cartridge. The new compatible cartridge must have the reset gear in the correct position. One of the cartridge could be defective or not reassembled properly. Try to insert the old cartridges one at time and find which is the defective cartridge
@@viandant5 Thursday 29/10/2020. Good evening "Viandant5". As a result of your answers yesterday, I was only able to use your suggestions on this day through my other tasks. I am pleased to inform you that, on the basis of your suggestion to discriminate against the problematic cartridge by simple successive replacements of the cartridges by the old ones, ... by respective "colors" of course, ... which, I do admits, should have been perceived by me directly as "logical" and "trivial", ... allowed me to determine that it was the "yellow" cartridge that was the problem, ... while my suspicions were rather to the "Magenta" cartridge. On the other hand, by observing this cartridge with attention, ... I did not manage to "see" any cause of its impossibility to be detected as present by the Brother MFC-L3750CDW equipment. In desperation, I again checked / corrected the position of the "reset" "gear" on this cartridge, ... but, in addition, I "swapped" the "chips" "between the original" Yellow "cartridge and the one that was no longer recognized, ... even if, however, this cartridge could already have been functional without having carried out this exchange. Although I took it, however, since this cartridge was then immediately recognized by the equipment after its reinsertion. That said, ... I therefore did not "understand" the very reason for stopping recognition of this "yellow" cartridge before its use without having proceeded to exchange the "chips". I of course then proceeded to reset the capacities of the four cartridges to be sure that they were assigned the "High Capacity" one. So I can only send you my best thanks for your suggestion ... which allowed me to solve my problem of non-functioning of my equipment. PROOT Guy 8-) "guy.proot@gmail.com"

This video was very helpful in me figuring out that sometimes a virtual reset didn't work which motivated me to figure out how to physically reset the toner cartridge. I just accomplished and published this physical reset today. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/_MJpHbZaEjA/видео.html
It seems there are 2 methods to reset TN-243/247 cartridges: 1. The reset gear shown in this video 2. The software reset shown in your other video: ruclips.net/video/6WAb2C3Wgq4/видео.html What's the difference? Which reset method is better? I'm guessing that MAYBE the software reset is only a "soft" reset, but when the reset gear reaches the end position, the software counter is ignored, and the cartridge is shown as empty. Then you can only reset it with the reset gear, but not the software reset method. Right? I don't know, that's just my guess how these 2 reset methods interact with each other.
I think your right. Toner ran out on our printer a while back and used the software method now it ran out again and would not take the software reset no matter how many times we tried. Sinmply reset the gear and now it displays full again. Does running a printer low on toner have negative side effects beside poor print quality?
@@viandant5 ...and that is precisely the problem. Nobody can tell me they couldn't have made it easier. Then, when it was necessary to insert the "compatible" cartridges of "high capacity", ...

There is no need to perform a reset procedure when you insert a new cartridge. The new compatible cartridge must have the reset gear in the correct position. One of the cartridge could be defective or not reassembled properly. Try to insert the old cartridges one at time and find which is the defective cartridge

Thursday 29/10/2020.
So I can only send you my best thanks for your suggestion ... which allowed me to solve my problem of non-functioning of my equipment.

hello sir
what toner did you buy ?? they were equipped with the reset gear ?? or did you buy these reset gear and you installed them in the toner ??
thanks for your answer
best regard
This video was very helpful in me figuring out that sometimes a virtual reset didn't work which motivated me to figure out how to physically reset the toner cartridge. I just accomplished and published this physical reset today. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/_MJpHbZaEjA/видео.html
It seems there are 2 methods to reset TN-243/247 cartridges:
1. The reset gear shown in this video
2. The software reset shown in your other video: ruclips.net/video/6WAb2C3Wgq4/видео.html
What's the difference? Which reset method is better?
I'm guessing that MAYBE the software reset is only a "soft" reset, but when the reset gear reaches the end position, the software counter is ignored, and the cartridge is shown as empty. Then you can only reset it with the reset gear, but not the software reset method. Right? I don't know, that's just my guess how these 2 reset methods interact with each other.
They are the same, you can use the software with cartridges without the gear
I think your right. Toner ran out on our printer a while back and used the software method now it ran out again and would not take the software reset no matter how many times we tried. Sinmply reset the gear and now it displays full again. Does running a printer low on toner have negative side effects beside poor print quality?
Tank
What a terrible design for refilling. I definitely wont be buying one of these printers. I will rather opt for a tank fill inkjet.
They are not designed to be refilled
@@viandant5 ...and that is precisely the problem. Nobody can tell me they couldn't have made it easier. Its no different from the way the inkjet printers eventually just stop working if you keep filling the same set of cartridges. The entire printer industry is a money making scam at the expense of the environment. I have thrown 2 complete machines in the waste bin so far this year.
