- Fresh vegetables can be given to your guinea pigs once a day to keep them happy and healthy. Each type of veggie can provide your piggie with different nutrients, so serving them a variety would be ideal. However, make sure not to overfeed them! Here is a list of popular vegetables that we can feed our piggies, including their nutritional value and suggested serving size. What veggies does your guinea pig like to eat? Hey. I love your videos and I had a query. Is it okay to give my guinea pig a bath once a week ?
When I used to have a guinea pig I would feed him a variety of these vegetables on a daily basis;- salad mix leaves, cos lettuce, cauliflower leaves, broccoli leaves, celery leaves, celery sticks, carrot sticks, capsicum, and cucumber. Occasionally I fed him apple as well, and his most favourite treat of all was rockmelon skins.

This is an adorable video, as are all of yours! I love the salads you create for the piggies, and the cute and unique shapes for them! I am still laughing at Tiffany's babysitting trials and tribulations. I knew Peanut would rule the day. She is an alpha piggy, if there ever was one. Soooooooo cute! I felt bad for poor Dumpling. My piggies hate zucchini sadly haha but I feed them kale because it lasts longer in the fridge and is a good source of vit c!
Oh god I thought celery was ok, lol, I’ve been feeding them entire sticks almost daily for like years.. Thankfully they’ve never gotten sick from it.

bamboo is a great food for gunieas, too (and is a vegetable in some countries).

My guinea pigs only like parsley and baby carrots. Small amounts 2 x's a day. Plus hay and pellets. Ive tried to introduce other veggies and they turn their noses up !! They seem healthy

My pigs won’t eat anything except carrots I think they are getting used to cocumber tho they haven’t taken a bite but they seem interested so that’s good
Mine too. My piggie wouldn't eat much but carrots( and guinea pig food of course). Recently I feed it more celery and hope to get to eat bell peppers, etc.

Yes! My 2 guinea pigs ❤'s it! Oh! They also ❤'s Italian parsley too.
Mine love parsley! They get some everyday with their peppers and romaine. They also love carrots, apples and celery in moderation. Neither likes cucumbers or zucchini so I gave up trying. We give broccoli and cauliflower leaves occasionally too.
One of our piggies, Peanut, doesn't like Zucchini too! 😆
I always used to give my guinea pig cauliflower and broccoli leaves. He especially loved to eat the cauliflower leaves.
@guineadad one of mine hates zucchini but loves yellow squash. Radicchio can be given every day. Just pricey. Endive is another one that can be given frequently. I give a cherry tomato a couple x a week due to sugar as well. Cilantro at times too.
Same with Tofu and Dumpling they hate Zucchinis :D
My guinea pigs love carrots, romaine lettuce, celery, green peppers, and spinach. My only boy does not like peppers though, only my three girls.

My sweet gurl rejects apples, red, green and yellow peppers, carrots, several types of lettuce and doesn't care for celery...SO I'm really glad she LOVES hay and her multi vitamin enriched grain food. My previous 2 pigs LOVED about all fruit and veggies but were home bred. My new gurl I got from a pet store...is that why?
More often than not, the new girl from the pet store was not intorduced to a variety of food that's why she did not know that apples, peppers, carrots and several types of lettuce is good for her. It takes a lot of getting used to I know but she will definitely come around. Just leave it in her cage and one day she'd finally try it. You can also cut it in small pieces and mix it with her favorite food or hay. 😉

Hey.. my Guinea pigs do not eat veggies... They only eat cucumber or cabbage..I have tried giving them red/yellow/green bell peppers, they denied... Tried zucchini, no... Tried pumpkin,it was a no...tried baby corns, carrots...it's all a no for them...They only eat hay, cucumber and cabbage... Please suggest how I should I make them eat..

Hello, I have some questions, because can't to find the right way to feed my guiena pigs.
The portion for 1 guinea pig should be 1 cup (till 100gr) a day, right? That cup of veggies should I give them all or a half in the morning and half in the afternoon? Or in the morning better to give them till 3 kind of veggies and in the afternoon 2-3 another different kind of veggies?
What's right foe 1 guinea pig:
- 1 cup of veggies in the morning (cucumber, lettuce, yellow pepper)
- In the afternoon any snack
- for dinner 2 spoons of a dry food (pellets)
And the next day to give them another kind of veggies.
Or
- 50gr of veggies in the morning (lettuce, cucumber, yellow pepper)
- 50gr of the same veggies in the afternoon
- dry food for the dinner time
Next day different veggies.
Or
- in the morning half of the cup (cucumber, lettuce, yellow pepper)
- in the afternoon half of the cup (tomato, zucchini, carrot)
- dinner time (dry food)
Next day again different types of veggies
I watch lot of different videos about this topic, but I can't to find a conclusion 😖

I always fed celery leaves to my guinea pig and it was never a problem. They will enjoy eating almost anything that's leafy. Try feeding your guinea pig cauliflower leaves too if you haven't yet done so.

Hi Nani. I highly suggest you cut it into small pieces and then mix it with it's favorite food. Gradually, he/she should gets used to the taste then learn to like it 😊

I rescued my piggie after living 2 years in poor condition...I don't think they ever fed her fresh veggies and now that I have her she will ONLY eat hay and sometimes dried flowers. She won't touch fruit, veggies, or even her pellet mix. :( I'm going to keep trying
Guinea pigs generally aren't that great with change, so it'll take her some time to become accustomed to different foods from what she's used to for sure! It's great that your still trying, it's a good idea. Our girls didn't like a lot of veggies either, and now they do after continued attempts!

Oh, that is absolutely okay! Guinea pipgs have their preferences too. Some pigs really do prefer viggies or fruits that other piggies don't like. Nothing to worry about. 😉
