The smile at the end of the intro says it all. You should be proud. Loved following this build.
Glad you enjoyed it Stuart.
Very nice job you have made of the cabinet, been great to follow you along. Enjoy that beer! 🍺 Cheers.
Thanks 👍
When I made the doors for my cabinet I used 1/4 round trim I made myself using my router table and table saw. I then cut it to fit (sneaking up to the fit) glued it and pin nailed it in place.
Bloody fantastic Macca!! What a great idea for storage, I will definitely be using this door style. Thanks mate!
Glad you like it!
Doors look fab John especially the cove detail on the doors
Cheers Christy 🍻 thanks for support 👍
All is great as is. Beautiful peace. My OCD would have me add a small strip of the dark wooden the top on the two inside parts of the doors so that when it's open it goes flows from corner to corner.
A great job John loved the total build
Cheers Mark 👍
Awesome job mate keep up the great work. Ireland is not the only place with drastic weather changes. I am in Saskatchewan Canada we went from -35c to 11c and back to -10 in less than 2 weeks. Now that April is here we should be on a steady climb to about 25c.
Its a lovely sunny day here, t-shirts and shorts! but snow is forecasted for next week! 😂
Excellent job.well done
Super job John...nice one
Very nice too
Well done John lad, keep up the good work looks fab
Thanks Joe
Nice one 👍👍👍
The subtitles crack me up. John says, "I've been having some real moisture issues" and the subtitles say, "I've been having some real moisturise juice". Frigging brilliant 🤣👍
40k it feels like yesterday u were at 30 keep goin man
Hi John. Great video..! Just discovered your channel and subscribed. I’ll go back and watch the tool cabinet built from the start and have a look at your other stuff. Good to see an Irish woodworker on RUclips. All the best 👍
Welcome along Aidan
Nice job there John. Chuck a silica gel pack in the outer door partitions and that should help a lot with the rust.
John, only just found your channel but some great video’s. It was your UJK parf system review that got me hear but sticking around as you have some great content. Just one comment it really helps new wood workers like me when your using tools like the trim router if you can remind people the direction you should be moving it to reduce burn and keeping the router under control. I only recently found out that you move right to left made such a difference.
Great job mate! Loved this series. This is defenitly giving me some ideas for my workshop so thanks.
Take care. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
John another great listen to you. Just I am so gutted I can’t see the cabinet now it’s finished very frustrating with sight loss
Be proud my friend. I am the same way with my shop. When my friends come into my shop they are impressed, and that makes me feel good. Be proud , you have an awesome shop. 👍
Fantastic work, John! 😃
That's a really good idea to make doors in shop projects! I really liked that! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks glad you enjoyed it, hope all is well 😁
Nice simple doors. I will give them a try on a small cabinet I am making
as I normal cut a grove in the back to just fit in the panel
Keep it up John
That's an absolutely beautiful piece of work. Can't go wrong with Shaker style, either.
Lovely work again John. Nice pair of faker shaker doors!
It turned out well lad :)
Another wonderful video. Have enjoyed everyone of them so far, keep it up John
Thanks, will do!
Good job there John. Love that simple style shaker doors.
Thanks 👍
It's in and out like a Fiddler's elbow, yet again! 😂😂😂💚🎻
It's simple, practical, and looks good!
It looks fantastic to me, I can see why it raised a smile when you had finished it. Also nice to see it in use before it is completed, lesson for me to learn, so I don't get fed up with a big project trying to complete every little thing before using it.
Buongiorno John. Ho copiato il tuo lavoro in tutti i particolari. Il risultato è spettacolare. Grazie per il tuo aiuto.
A fantastic build! 😍 I've been binge watching the entire series... 😜 And I have loads of more videos to watch! 😁 Can't wait! 😜
Well done mate that looks amazing I've built myself a workshop and got into woodworking because of you thank you for taking the time to make videos. Stay safe.
Jim
Excellent tool cabinet. Well done!
Very nicely done. I like the design and the practicality. :-).
Enjoying watching your video!!
Super job John, so well done!!!
Excellent build!
This cabinet is looking awesome the front doors really suit it . Like you said change out the hinges when you can get some it'll add more to the design
The hinges will go, just a temporary measure for now.
Yes...that's beautiful! I'm thinking of doing something similar one of these days...thanks for the inspiration!
Very welcome
Nice work as always.
For your damp problems try putting a unibond aero 360 pure moisture absorber inside your tool cabinet should be available in Ireland at Woodies
Turned out nice ,time to buy some more tools to fill it.
Hi John 👋 another fantastic video and thanks for your recommendation for Tommy at eire workshop between your and his channel im sorted for my woodworking fix 😀
Very welcome
Maybe after we get out of this lockdown the both of you could partner up for a project 🤔 that would be interesting
Unreal man, turned out great! How did it work out over winter, did you need to use a small dehumidifier in there? Surface rust on tools is killer in my single block uninsulated garage as well.
Great job, as always, you deserved your beer 🍻 🍻
Mine is made with some plywood too. Maybe we should both spoil ourselves with a mini split to help with the humidity and temperature.
Great job John ,the doors might be basic but it means most diyer's can make them without special tools.👍🍺
Dry cool intro.
Really is a brilliant cabinet John, great to see it finished off ! Very challenging lighting conditions there. Try shooting a couple of stops lower. Always better to be slightly under exposed than slightly over exposed. You editing software should be able to balance it out. Have you checked out DaVinci Resolve software ?
I use DaVinci resolve, really good software but I only use the basic features I must take some time to study editing more.
@@JohnMcGrathManInShed Check out some basic colour correction. There's probably some pretty good presets that can help without over processing your footage.
This has been a really enjoyable build to watch. Great work! Maybe not traditional but I much prefer it. Definitely going to 'attempt' something similar. Going to leave out the routed cove in the shaker doors though... not my cup of tea.
Nice one.
Thanks!
Hi John, have you had a look at the fence system, for a MFT, made by Benchdogs UK. It certainly moved the MFT to another le el, particularly for the accurate repeatability of cut. Great series though!
Absolutely superb channel and you do some great work. As a recent retiree, I am looking to develop my hobby woodworking skills and your projects are really inspiring. Can you give any advice on the best ways to source specialist wood such as walnut, maple and ash as in the UK these are not sold by mainstream DIY stores. I am starting smaller projects such as your Japanese Puzzlebox.
Hi Keith I'm not sure about the UK but search hardwood suppliers, some woodworking stores will also sell hardwood in small amounts.
@@JohnMcGrathManInShed Much appreciated John. Keep up the great work and the inspiration you give.
Well done John. Looks great I finally have closure on this series, although no mounts, shelves, hooks on the front door insides?
I'm not sure what tools will go in there Gary, but I will be sure to share it when I do!
Hey John. The cabinet is looking fantastic.
I’m constantly dealing with extraction hose coming from one side & power coming from the other, & I noticed you were having the same issue when you were doing the long rip.
I was considering snipping the cords on my track saw & my big router, and Velcro-ing a power cable to my extraction hose. I was thinking I might use kettle sockets on the tools & a kettle plug on the hose, kind of like a poor man’s Festool system. I use a wireless remote to turn on my extractor, so thinking about using the same outlet to power the tool. Any thoughts, from an electrician’s perspective?
Keep up the good work. Love the channel. 👍👍
Very nice cabinet John, what's going to be the next workshop cabinet build, for your shop?
Thanks, no plans for another cabinet at the moment but that could change with new tools!!
Hi John, nice build looks great. are you planning on using any kind of kind of dehumidification / dessicated inside the cabinet, or just keeping the tools well oiled?
I have a small dehumidifier that I leave in it
I've seen someone 3d print covers for the track saw, get one with your logo on 👍🏻
Thanks for the”inches “
no problem
Treat yourself to a 23” gauge nail gun for doing cabinet work. No heads on the pins
Great series. I intend to do something like this soon. Did you add any plans on Sketchup?
Absolutely love your design, I’ve added the outer door design to my drawings! How deep is your cabinet?
John Does your roof panels have any kind of drip stop coating? I have the same issue on my own box profile roofing sheets as far as condensation is concerned.
Yes the roof is no drip, it doesn't condensate much but there is a lot of moisture in the air
@@JohnMcGrathManInShed Thank you.
A bit late with watching the video. Saw you lifting the sheet of plywood. Made me think; how is you knee holding up lately?
Its not to painful but I am going for surgery in the next few weeks
@@JohnMcGrathManInShed Ow, so something is damaged inside. More serious than you let us know. I hope that your knee will be alright after surgery. Probably lucky that your bjj is on hold because of the lockdown, so not missing out on that.
Why don’t you just flip the piece and use rail the other way so you don’t need to worry about your blade kerf ?
Hows the over head dust extraction working out?
Great video John.
working well the hose still snags but its good.
Only this year a problem with damp - in Ireland. Yah big ejit, take a drive in any direction, that thar water that stops you is the N Atlantic OCEAN or Irish SEA.
unless i am mistaken you are going the wrong way with the router.........i may be wrong please anyone else comment
You are right I was going in the wrong direction!
@@JohnMcGrathManInShed ive been routing for 30 years i have done it a couple of times normally with a hangover easy done
Birch ply not a great option for damp environments, you will get fungal growth.
Disappointed again with the hinges, they should show knuckles of the hinge only, they need chopped in to the door and the side of the cabinet.
Turn off the annoying adverts John
Lots of negativity from you, eh? 😜 Get RUclips premium, or just ad blocker if you don't want to pay for premium. Problem solved! 😁
@@attesmatte Dont mind the 5 second adverts but long adverts at the start deeply annoying. The youtubers can switch them on and off - they have complete control over the adverts. Shows complete lack of respect for viewers too.
@@jcoul1sc
I watch waaaay too much RUclips, so Premium was the best investment for me in a long while. It's not expensive, I highly recommend it!
@@attesmatte I just use v.i.e.wpure (without the . ) they have a bookmark u just click on.
Know people that have used vpn to change location to India and get cheaper youtube premium. Its interesting some of the better youtubers how they structure their adverts in the videos.
@@attesmatte think I'm addicted to casey niestat too, got me through the latest lockdown.
Disappointing, not much making, wheres the joints
