My favorite horse and my favorite jockey Florent Geroux. I'm so looking forward to the Breeders Cup. What a beautiful horse. My whole family are fans of both Gun Runner and Florent Geroux. We have watched all of Gun Runners races, and we all follow Florent ' s races. So happy to see him have the success he has had on Gun Runner and others the last few years. Looking forward to Gun Runners next race and will be watching Florent 's future success.
That was a stupendous performance. I'm not sure how Del Mar plays in terms of speed, but even at 10 furlongs he has an excellent chance to win, especially given that Arrogate has come back to earth.
There is no question regarding who is the top ranked thoroughbred right now... Can we please give this amazing boy the credit he has been due the entire season. He is my Breeders Cup 2018 choice; GUN RUNNER for HOTY 2017
Gun Runner has been running really impressive and destroying the field lately. If Arrogate doesn't show up in BCC, Gun Runner will win it, no matter how many speed horses they throw in there. Gun Runner can run in a stalking position and be close to the pace setter.
Gun Runner can be on the lead or right off the lead..He has the perfect running style for Del Mar...Collected is a VERY legit and sharp horse..Arrogate has something to prove..BCC going to be interesting
He's brilliant. BCC will be awesome. Arrogate doesn't like the surface apparently, they say Gun Runner doesn't want 10 furlongs. Collected is a good horse and throw in West Coast. Keen Ice won't have a distance problem. Maybe Classic Empire will run. Gunnevera has a strong late kick and looks to be sharp after the Travers. This will come down to a head bob at the wire.
Gunny looks great, I agree gonna be a great race. I don't know about Classic Empire, they scratched him out of his upcoming race. He's a mess, it's too bad he can really run when he wants too.
FitzeesMrs Agreed, always felt Classic Empire was probably the best of the crop but that's hard to say now. Skipped Belmont to go to Travers, then scratched from there to go to the Penn Derby. Seems all out of whack atm. Hope he races again. Love Gunnevera so I hope he puts in a big effort. Would be pleased to see Gun Runner win the classic though. Always puts in a good performance.
I just don't get how this performance deserved a 142 timeform?! He looked good but was this the greatest performance ever of a North American racehorse and 5th greatest ever world wide?

Lisa ODell Del Mar is a high-grade track. Santa Anita and Del Mar are the only two Premeir tracks on the West Coast. If Arrogate(or any other horse for that matter) looses a race do not blame the track. Zenyatta won all three of her races(Grade 1) at Del Mar in 2009 and 2010. American Pharaoh(first Triple Crown winner in 37 years) is a Del Mar Futurity(Grade 1) graduate which was his first Grade 1 win. Do not blame the track.
GR had absolutely no competition in this race..won in a canter. the BC will be a different matter altogether if the real competition shows up. if Arrogate is ready runs his race, the BC will be his!
He's the opposite of Arrogate. He keeps getting better.

His performance was great and he embarrassed this field the way he should have. I became a "Gunee" after his performance in the BC Mile last year.
