    Until I watched your videos the closest I wanted to be to camping was the Holiday Inn. I have never seen such beauty. I live near the Appalachians in the USA. I know our vistas are much different but your videos make camping there appealing to me for the first time!

      @@BUSHMANandBLUE We have some cracking tent pegs but not any that go thru rock 🤣🤣 After spending 4 days camping & hiking in the dark peaks this last week, our new pegs passed very highly! Big strong yellow v pegs plus we had the yellow anchors, in case we had high winds forecast but, i think the ones we used, would have held upto anything! Were 71 & 72 & only hiked mountains since June but, lost count of how many times we've clmbed! We trained on hills and 500 metre mountains for 4 months, before going up Snowdon twice in one week, at the end of July! Since then, we do at least 2 each week and this last 4 days we hiked 35 miles on 3 of them and a 6 mile walk on the first day, after pitching on camp!

      @@BUSHMANandBLUE Thank you! Its been a hard few months getting to where we are and i have muscles i never knew existed, popping up everywhere 🤣🤣! I missed my youth, due to being ten stone heavier but, now, I'm much more than half my old weight, I'm getting what I've missed and more and the time my hubby and kids say well done, shows me how they notice changes! I could never get through or climb styles before but now, this last few days, i'm lugging my heavy, all weather backpack, up and over the most awful dry stone styles ever imaginable and hubby just keeps saying " well done Maggi!" He's kinda scared that I'll fall because i am trying to conquer a big fear, that i've always had of falling head first, due to my dad, when i was little, coming up behind me on steep cliffs, picking me up, pushing me with his arms, until i was free hanging over the cliffs. He had a tight hold of me but it scarred me for life! Plus at 4, i was pushed head first off a big climbing frame and split my head wide open and was unconscious and carried across town by the nursery teacher in the early 50s, to the clinic, where i eventually came round!

    • @BUSHMANandBLUE

      It’s amazing how childhood trauma becomes a true scar in you. Even just the fun things still give you fears. I’m truly happy for you getting out and making the most of it! Keep going as it’s always worth it for both body and mind! A well done from me.

    I was sat on the exact same spot you were having a cuppa at 25.58 back in 1990 (if I remember the year rightly) in January. The clag was swirling about - very dynamic. I had walked all the way over from Black Sail (YHA) through the saddle between Great Gable and Green Gable eventually stopping at the Pike before dropping down to Wastewater YHA. It was something else. Wish to hell the knees could do it nowadays, but we do what we can eh? I am off on a first wild camp in years in the Hampshire downs. But keep it quiet, they get arsey about it down here in't south.

Remember doing a 24hr survey in may and we has 500 people between the hours of 12pm anf 5am ... and to think it goes on like that through much of the summer. What size is Blues approach pack? .. I've often thought about one as the volume of dry kibble over a multi day walk is rather remarkable!

      You have either good eyes or a massive TV 😂. I think it was a lad I chatted to and explained the route to him so he went to the bottom to have a look up before he descended back to wasdale.

      😂😂😂 Just blame me if you get caught. I’ll talk to your boss and explain how work productivity increases with outdoor activities. Watching this is just preparing for your next adventure. 😂

    Little lake at 23 min. reminds me of one on Maroon mountain in northern British Columbia, Canada. My wife was 7 months pregnant at the time :-). She broke her toe a couple weeks later. Her doctor said
    "I told you don't hike".
    But she broke it against a file cabinet in the house :-)
    Perhaps the outdoors is safer????

      😂 I think so. I did two nights camping in horrendous conditions with icy snowing long mountain scrambles with no problem then got home and slipped down the bottom 3 stairs and hurt my self😂

    I went up scafell a few years ago, why do you think there's so much scree?

    • @BUSHMANandBLUE
      @BUSHMANandBLUE  3 года назад

      Plant life struggles at higher altitudes because it’s colder causing more exposed rock with a few million years of water erosion with freeze thaw which causes scree… that’s my guess🤷🏻‍♂️😂😉
