- Nicht aufregen! So viele RUclips-User haben mich gebeten doch mal was auf deutsch zu machen. Da dachte ich mir jetzt ist es Zeit mal ein paar Mikrofone mit einer Stratocaster gründlich auf ihre klanglichen Eigenschaften zu testen. :)
Für mich klingt das 414er am besten :-) Danke für das tolle Video
Good try... but i think that especially Brauner vs AKG 414 TL II ULS could be biased by the speaker position. The TL II is a non transformer Mic and has a slight presence boost, thus making it more crisp than the B-ULS TL, or former B-ULS. Compared to that the Brauner sounds extremely sharp. I would suggest comparing those two again in the same place on the same speaker. In my studio i use the AKG 414 TL B-ULS and the SM57 for guitars, and even that elderly AKG (without the presence boost) reproduces more crisp and less coloration (just my opinion)... But, to be honest, i still use the old school Shure SM 57 in most cases when i do not want to use more than 1 Track, or Ambience... By the way, to use the AKG, which sounds more "dry" in the bass frequencies than other mics like Brauner, Roswell or Neumann U87, together with SM57 is quite a good idea. I did not compare the new 414 XLS with my AKG TL B-ULS, but it seems that those AKGs might be the best overall good mics in a reasonable priced studio... also for vocals, since they dont need so much acoustic preparation than the vintage character Neumanns or Brauners (except maybe U89 and TLM-170 etc.)

Hallo Mike, vielen Dank für die interessante Vorführung, die ich genau so "gehört" habe wie Du. Die zwei teuren Mics sind ungeeignet für die Gitarrenabnahme. Gruß Christian
Immer wieder erstaunlich wie sich verschiedene Mikros vor einem lauten Brüllwürfel verhalten. ::::))))))))))
VMX every time. We use it on eveeything, we have 3 VMs.
Gorgeous clarity.
We have five C414s because they are so versatile... Drum over heads, and room mics. But sound lovely on 12 strings. You can never have too many 414 ULS mics in the mic cabinet.

What the hell was that Roswell doing there? It sounded awful.
Das Colares wurde ganz spezifisch dafür gemacht, (schlechte?) vocals schmeichelhaft aufzuzeichnen
The Brauner looks like a VM1 to me....?
The VM1 and the VMX look identical. We have a few of each. Just slightly different character.
Das ist ein VM1, und kein VMX oder VMA, wie man daran erkennen kann, das der grill oben flach ist

Gute Idee diesen Vergleich mal zu machen. Ich war also schon sehr gespannt, aber so geht das natürlich überhaupt nicht!
Die Mikrofone müssen peinlichst an gleicher Stelle Positioniert werden um sie zu vergleichen - und nicht wild durcheinander = irre !
Der Sound ist sonst nicht vergleichbar, weil auch nur 2 cm nach Links, Rechts, Oben oder Unten sich der Sound grundsätzlich verändert.
