And 2nd of all, this does line up if you believe that the Kid Buu statements of him being the strongest Majin are consistent. Which won’t contradict anything if you think that SSJ3 Goku briefly fighting off Buutenks shows he’s stronger than Gohan (which may soon be implied after Gotenks defuses in Buu, since I believe Goku says something along the lines of “Even Gohan can beat you now” if my memory is right), and by the time that Goku fought Kid Buu, the Saiyan did receive a Zenkai boost which can help put him above Ultimate Gohan. This isn’t me saying I agree by the way. After all, this does change depending on interpretation, so this is just me pointing out the big stuff that suggests Buu Saga SSJ3 Goku is stronger than Buu Saga Ultimate Gohan.

Here's why this is cap, Goku couldn't beat a weaker version of Buu (Kid Buu), but Gohan was dog-walking Super Buu (aka, a MUCH stronger varient), and before you say anything about the SS2 Goku fight vs kid buu, it's non-canon it only appeared in the anime for filler, and besides, you cannot believe Goku to have gotten at least 300× stronger (since ss3 is a 400× multiplier and ss2 is a 100× multiplier) when this entire fight takes the span of about 3 days in the actual story, and before you say anything about "oH gOhAN lOsT. AnD GokU dIDn't." That was because Buu played dirty and absorbed Gotenks and Piccolo mid-fight, this made Buu gain an edge against Gohan, plus, Goku had help from Vegeta and they were barely okay by the end against (need I remind) a WEAKER buu.
