    This is my first of your vids and I'm so hooked. I love ya man! Thanks for making my day a little better. Aron Mellergard is my favorite drummer, and Henrik is my favorite bassist other than Michael League, but this whole band is freaking amazing. But even Michael League could never write a solo bass line as good as Henriks

    The pure joy and fun they’re having. Reminds me of a comment Jim Morrison made…that he’d like to make a piece of music that is a burst of pure joy. I think Dirty Loops has achieved that. Thanks for the introduction 🇦🇺⚡️🤘🏿🤘🏼🎸💋❤️

    I listened to an interview with Aaron and Henrik and when the reporter asked what “Rock You” was all about, Aron turned to Henrik and asked “yes, Henrik lyric writer what is this song about?”. Henrik responded something like “I’m not comfortable to talk about it on the radio” . I think the original title was too naughty for the masses, so they changed the name.
    Yes. And Aron writes music in his underwear. Jonah never knew that he could sing like he does now, he was just singing in choirs. Henrik changed from piano to bass because he wanted to play like Flee and a girl he had a crush on said that base players were the sexiest musicians. Thank you unknown girl!

    • @fiddlestix3025
      @fiddlestix3025 2 года назад +2

      Yes, Pia 😉
      The lyrics just loosely rhyme with ‘rock you’ and ‘let’s groove’ ;)
      And isn’t it just mindblowing to know that Jonah only started singing lead vocals with Dirty Loops and had never done it before?!?
      And that girl, we’ll owe her forever 🙏☺️👍

      @@fiddlestix3025 Even with the official lyrics "rock you, let's groove" in the chorus, it's quite obvious what it's about if you read the rest of the lyrics. They are NOT subtle. 😅
      And it definitely sounds like at least one of them is singing the original "working title" of the song. I'm thinking there's a reason why it says "unfortunately" after stating Henrik is singing backing vocals, in the credits. They also seem to have a blast making the audience singing the original title at their live gigs lately. 😁

    I love your reactions to DL, and your looks of enjoyment and utter disbelief (and I couldn't help laughing when you used those exact words yourself in the afterthoughts, as I had been thinking the same thing during your reaction, hahaha). I imagine that's pretty much the looks I have on my own face every time I hear one of their songs for the first time. :)
    And as a side note, in case you missed it, Quincy Jones is just their manager. They produce everything themselves, with the help of Simon Petrén, and they don't let Quincy see or hear anything until they're completely done with a song, video and all.

    Another fantastic reaction. You bring us all along for a great ride. Many times I've pondered why Loops aren't selling millions and millions of albums. During your reaction a metaphor occurred to me. Dirty Loops are like somebody is going to the movies. They stop at the snack bar and ask for a small, plain popcorn...that's it. The person behind the counter says "How about I give you a large buttered popcorn with a large soda and I'll throw in a taco for the same price. The customer thinks about it and then responds "Naw that's OK I'll just take the small plain." Loops are just more than the casual listener can handle. Which is a shame all around and why we continue to be surrounded by multi-million selling albums of the same, old rehashed stuff. Keep up the the fun reactions and thanks.

      A great observation Mr Robot. Loops are one of those bands that can't really be fully appreciated unless you have a reasonable musical understanding or are at least naturally musically minded. It's like how mathematicians see the elegance and beauty in some equations. You won't appreciate it unless you understand. It will probably just make you feel tired looking at it.
      However, I get the feeling that massi e fame isn't their motivation. I think it's very much the case that their freedom to do exactly as they please is paramount.

    • @robote7679
      @robote7679 2 года назад +4

      @@TheCharlieSmithChannel That's a pretty elegantly thought out reply. Appreciated. Don't think they're looking for stadium level fame either it's just I hope they're making a decent living. And being musicians and having such universal regard from the music community has to provide some pretty satisfying feelings on their own. Great work on your end.

    The thing that I have problems imagining, is Any group of musicians.... out there... having the chutzpah to try doing a cover of a DL song. Think about that.... who feels confident enough to cover "Work Shit Out"? Or "Next To You"? What my mind's eye envisions is a train wreck! I have not been this taken with a band since CSN! And, Alphie guess, they are just managed by Quincy though, so they don't have a full contract with him, the way they did with Verve and Foster. They produce everything themselves, with the help of Simon Petrén, these days. :)
