easily the best of the 105 Ghost's ever played...I've heard them all (give or take two or three that are impossible to find) and seen 65 of them (inclduing this one). this is what I make first timers listen to as an introduction to Phish; it's an intense introduction but 9 out of 10 who hear it for the fitst time are shocked by the tightness and the funk....CANT WAIT FOR SUMMER 2012!
My personal favorite is the Amsterdam version from earlier in the month. You can hear allot of similar nuances with this jam, but I feel like the Amsterdam version is just magic and the vibe is looser and more psychedelic. Nonetheless an amazing Ghost for sure.
This is one of the bands best jams ever. And that's taking in everything from 83 to 2016 so far. Yet when best jams get brought up, this one rarely gets thrown in the mix. Glad I was there to see it. But it still stands the test of time. Sometimes I'll be partial to a jam just because I was there. But I can always admit whether the jam was that good or if I was swayed just because I was there. And this is one of the jams where I listen to it almost twenty years later and think "yeah, it really was that good"
+Arthur Peterson yeah. I don't think it gets brought up as much as other jams. I'm not saying people don't know about it. it just seems to be brought up in a how can you not mention 7/23/97 gHost when talking about all time great jams. I think the Ghost from Denver in 98 gets more credit. The Riverport Gin and Albany YEM frequently are brought up, but thus version seems to slip a lot of people's minds when they're trying to think of their favorite jams. Don't know why it's like that.
Senior year in college show. My parents said, “you have already seen Phish before, why do you keep going?”. 😂😂😂👍😂
What more could you ask for out of a live version of this? Thank God I was there watching it go down live. Stoked!

+Ian Finnneman Rarely comes up? Are you kidding? This is probably THE Ghost. Great fucking Ghost, best ever IMO.

They have kicked Georgia’s ass for many years. Just another example here. They know where the loyal fan base is. Deep South says thank you!
the YEM from this set was crazy too.
Best ghost ever
No description available is an accurate description. Words can't explain this jams epicness
Prepping for tonight's Albany show and needed this tune for the Final 30 minutes of work.....ITS RAGE TIME.
On my Bday, no less.. YEEAAAUHH!!
happy birthday
I had no idea this was on youtube! Random request computing from another computer... nice!
It's the audio Kevin Shapiro played on From the Archives at the IT festival.
I'm hoping the return to Lakewood amp will be a night of dirty space funk
Oh I wish I could have seen this! Does anyone know if there is a video version available? DVD?
if you like this Ghost....check out 7/6/98 Ghost from Prague..
Needs more cowbell!
Is this an AUD? It doesn't sound as crisp as a SBD, but it doesn't have the super boomy bass the Spreadsheet AUD does.
