Love it. Very similar to my process -- but I make a few different calls:
    - I measure out the right amount of water before pressing so that I can just press it down all the way and not think about when to stop the shot. This lets me focus more on maintaining even pressure.
    - I firmly place my screen on the puck. This minimizes the amount of water that makes contact with the coffee before you begin pre-infusion. Whether that's good or bad is up to you.
    - If I'm having a milky drink, I put the milk on the stove before I press so that by the time I'm done it's at about ~50C and I can just quickly begin hitting it with the NanoFoamer. By the time that's all done, milk is at a nice 60C

      Those are some great suggestions

Do you still use this setup: robot and nanofoamer? If so, would you recommend it to others? If not, what got you to stop?

@@jnattress I still do! It’s a great setup and I’d recommend it to anybody that won’t mind a manual press.

very nice real time demonstration. Thanks for sharing! I love that you don’t need to worry about pre heating

Robot really doesn't need a firm tamp like this, I just use the weight of the leveling tamper to tamp the bed, plus maybe a tiny bit of extra force, but yeah, if you tamp like this its gonna make channeling a lot easier.

The video makes the tamp look much harder than what actually is. The 3d printed piece isn't a perfect fit so it takes some force to get it to the bottom of the basket. It was a pretty light tamp once I got the the bottom where the grounds are. I didn't sand down the 3d printed piece at the time of filming

Does this require as much force as it looks? Seems harder than the flair 58 to pull a shot in terms of sustained effort.

I think the flair is easier. but this is still very doable.

Is there a trick to inserting the brew chamber portafilter easily into the Cafelat Robot?

That was only a 20sec extraction (including preinfussion)...??? Is your shot not under extracted??

Shot looks great. How much longer it takes to make an espresso on Robot vs semiautomatic?

I think the additional time is mainly pouring the water into the basket. Puck prep, extaction time, clean up is the same with semi automatic. You just have to make sure that the water is ready when your puck is ready.

I forgot to mention: most machines have to heat up which can take around 15 minutes. So the robot might actually be faster depending on how you would use a machine.

Nailed it. It is almost faster since the only heat up time is the kettle. I think it feels slower mainly because you are doing stuff the entire time. Like pulling the arms durning the shot versus standing and watching durning the shot on other machines

Want is the mat you have in place of the black one cafelat provides that your lunar is on top of? I just got a lunar 2021 and find it finicky to balance and think that would help.

It’s a piece of horween leather that I had laying around. Cut it to fit and unscrew the top and put the screws through the leather so it doesn’t move
