RevealtheReal because it’s really bad weight distribution and can add a lot of unnecessary weight. And it’s especially dangerous if it’s stored on one of the sides of a van (added rollover risk). When it’s stored in the back like that it puts a lot of extra weight on the rear suspension wearing out your transmission faster...
Excellent and affordable Murphy bed design. My husband and I once built one using $300 hardware, high cost wood etc and you have shown a much better way...this could certainly be adapted to in-home bed also. Love the piano hinge too!
Just discovered this channel. I'm getting ready to outfit my van into a camper van and so have subscribed. He describes things nicely and is creative. I'll also get some things from Amazon so he gets paid a percentage of the sale.

Thank you for your patience! I took a while putting this one out because of the weather and I was changing my editing style a bit. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos and I’ll try to put more of these videos out faster if I can!
New subscriber! Wow, looks like I have a lot of binge-watching to do to catch up to your channel. This video popped up on my feed and decided to watch. I’ve been watching a lot of van life/van build videos and have NEVER seen this in those videos.
I love watching you work. Very skilled. My husband does some wood work. Porch swings cabinets and I helped him build our chicken coop a couple years ago. More like I held this and fetched that. More than happy to help where ever. Anyway I’m looking forward to following this build to the end. You are incredibly talented and seem like a cool nice guy.
You probably heard it already but to strengthen your joints and decrease squeaking, you should also add glue to each joint. Not being critical, I love your work!
I just found your channel and I'm going to make my Honda Odyssey into a camper van! Wish me luck! 🤣 I will be watching all your videos! Thanking you in advance 💜 67-year-old, retired, female!
What a great idea! I’ve never seen anyone else make a Murphy bed in a van before. Being able to make those graphic drawings is a great tool! Well done! And the music is awesome 😎

Your build and 101-type explanations are some of the best going man. I realized this last week, you are the same dude whose other complete other build I watched long ago and that was exciting for me, to see you keep going on the next hustle. I am liking your flow. You have some great ideas to go with those pipes and the lats. LOL.
Drop it? No I only filled this much of the build because it’s pretty self explanatory how to hibiscus the project from there. I’m working on a lot of other things at the same time so I’ll end up coming back to explain this later
While it's not the esthetic that I would choose for my own. I will say that this is an awesome job. You're doing it really good. I would choose a different stain but you know what, yours looks good. I'm really glad to see that you were doing this cause it looks great. I'm impressed.
I love, love, love the Murphy bed. But I want to be able to see out the back when I put it down. I don’t care if it’s off the back or the side. Nice not to have to make it up everyday and less work to put it down and not deal with a table and all that crap. Another great video. Keep including short commercials we can’t skip through. I hate the long ones. 🤣
These older vans and shit will run forever as long as theyre taken care of and this one looks like it was and is going to. Cool van build dude I can’t wait to start my own!
Whaaaat! Love that idea fella. I am looking at purchasing a Van very soon looking at Murphy Bed ideas. I’ll be recording the build etc too. Huge learning curves ahead.
Where are you. Lol I'm in Washington state. We don't notice rain much here . .a guy I used to log with. His dad went on a logging job as a young man back in the 1920s the job was outside of forks Washington. The woods boss went out to see his new rigging crew and fired anyone wearing rain gear of any kind. The last year I lived in forks we set the National rainfall record. It was around 380+- inches of rain in that year .more than a inch per day average. Didn't rain every day but sometimes it was 2-3 inches in a hour. Anyway I am busting your balls over not working in the rain. I seen part of another build you did I have 2 suggestions . 1) when you put in a plank type flooring if you run the flooring front to back it creates the elusion of space . Running from side to side it a small space can cause a small space to appear smaller. 2) put a shitter in a van it will greatly increase the $ you can get. Cassette toilets are around $500 and have a built in holding tank that slides out sealed so you can even dump it in a toilet or dump station. I know that when I. Paid $18,000 for a new GMC with every option my sister paid $30,000 for a new conversation van it had 4 seats a table and a shitter.
Thank you! I’ll be posting much more videos like this. About 10 minutes long kind of just showing what I’m doing as I go on this van. Thanks so much for watching!
To avoid the rain, you need a garage like cover. Or, you can move into one of your vans, save rent money. Later, buy a lot, or property. Property large enough to build a tiny house and two car garage. You can work out of the garage. When you grow old, you can run an attachment to garage from tiny house. Hum... thinking happens when it rains... Anyway, you are a great builder. You can easily build a home.
Funny I was thinking of other ways to make a bed besides the first slide out bed you made. I saw the Murphy bed in someone else build and wanted to know how it was made and here you go rite on time with making one. Great job my dude. All ya work is clean and very well explained. Cant wait to see what you do next.
Yeah I like to try things out that I haven’t seen most people do before. I’m glad you like this design and I’ll be posting an update of the finished product as soon as I can! Thanks for watching the video
Very tasteful look and clever design. Talented artist within your van and videos. Subscribed. Wishing you all the best from your hard work and dedication.
How did You do the ceiling? Did I miss that? I have a night and there's nuthin up there but fiberglass. No wood frame to attach a ceiling to. Would like to know and see how you did that
I filmed that video but I didn’t upload it yet. I was planning on uploading that footage when I do my big time lapse video at the end of the build. It didn’t make for a very long or informative video like my other ones
@@Dualex_Builds thanks for your response! I did go back and watch the video where you installed the fan in the roof and it showed some of the roof of the van and where you put your ceiling in. However as I said mine has no wood structure up in it at all. It is a conversion van and it's just a fiberglass shell top that is up there. The original roof of the van was cut and this thing was then bolted down onto the edges when it was converted years ago. It is a 2000 model Dodge 1500. I just didn't know if you added rafters or whatever or glued wood strips to the fiberglass etc.
Love the cabinets on the floor..where do you get them? Or wait..you built them if I recall..i keep going back to your vids to plan out my minivan build..those cupboards look like the perfect size n I could totally do a small Murphy bed like this..im skill-less and disabled so have to have it all done for me..wish you were closer..darn it..keep it up..i get the best ideas from your builds👍😉✌😊

@@Dualex_Builds It was probably just me personally not being able to do something, and no reflection on your teaching skills in any way. I apologize if my comment came off sounding that way! I like your creative ideas, especially the Murphy bed. I have a question. It seems like these older vans are not built for so much weight. Doesn’t it overload the suspension and affect the way it drives?

Bro the bed is awesome and I will most likely use a modified version of it in my build. I just got one ? Can u please give me a list of the music tracks you use??? I mean fr fr your skills are hot but them tracks though. 💯💯💯
Lol the music I use is from a website called epidemic sound. It’s a website where musicians make royalty free music so that people like me can use good music in RUclips videos like this. They have pretty much every style of music on there but I really like to use the lofi hip hop tracks. I have to pay to use the music for RUclips but I’m pretty sure you can listen to tracks for free on the site. You should definitely check them out!

Nice level of detail and zero BS. Nice job man. Yo from Scotland.
Why don’t more people do Murphy beds in a van! This is pure utter genius.
What’s heavier typically, the bed area or the kitchen area? Or the bathroom if there is one
You have to literally pack your bed up every single morning
They also say lack of air circulation underneath the mattress can cause mold to grow
I’m doing a single Murphy style so I can easily store my bikes in the van with our removing wheels.
I recently bought a 1989 Chevy G20 to live in. So I am watching your build with great interest! So glad I found you.
I’m glad you found me too! Hopefully I can help inspire you with your build as well

Thanks a lot! hopefully this gave you some ideas
Really did I'm getting a Chevy mack 3 and think of putting a loft bed in with enough room to put in storage and back up battery and tryin to measure it all out so it can have enough space to fit two more people
should paint the van after u're done building the inside?
the bed doesn't fit u?
I have no idea what you’re trying to say here lol
I love this Murphy bed idea in a van! This is what I want in my van! Do you have plans?
Love your work and have watched many of your vids but how do u get out the back incase of fire or other danger?
Great video. How has that hing kept up?
What did you use to insulate walls and for moisture control?
4:10 Ha That that’s s Kreg Jig I have! Haha too cool, I’ve never see anyone else use it.. now I’m m inspired! Ok continue on.. im watching..
The van build is very nice, but the part that impresses me is that you have all cordless power tools and no real work space. Nicely done
Hey did you sell this van? I wanted to see the full tour with the bed and cushions etcetera etcetera.. nice design! Very creative. Hopeful there is one more view yet to come..
Dani Adams I’m still building this van. I’ll probably be completely done by the end of this month and I’ll have a full finalized tour video
My brother, you have creative skills 💯👍, been enjoying your videos. Awesome new van, but loved the first style. I’m making my van like your first design.

I love these videos! What program are you using to design builds?
Murphy bed “Rocks” 💯💜
You sure have some great ideas!! Wish I could do something like this, such talent , can’t wait to see it complete!!!
It’s coming along! I can’t wait to see it completed either lol
Does your ebook include this bed design?
Thanks Bro, by the way I produce music and I also have free/ royalty free music.
Extremely talented bro. Ur vids are cool AF. Did u get buff doing this or u work out? Asking for a friend 😂
You have some great design skills! My only suggestion is that the latch you used is not up to the elegance of the rest of it.
Ingenious idea for a bed! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! 🙏🏽
Awesome job! Keep at it! I'll be here for it!
Thank you for watching and supporting these videos! I’ll keep at it as much as I can!
