I remember being an 8 year old kid playing this game, it was alot of fun even though i had no idea what i was doing lol, couldnt get passed the first mission

I was around the same age (10) but i never finished. There is a nuke mission that is kinda hard, not played it in over 9 years

The switching is insane in this game even the graphic is very basic i still feel immersed in this game at that time. Enjoy the gameplay too
The hot swapping feature was way ahead of its time. It felt really immersive because you could experience the battle from all angles.

it is hard to say if it was the best... gta san andreas and metal gear solid 2, 3 are good competitors to that title. GOD I MISS THEM, i just got to fire my ps2 up again once more, for nostalgia reasons

Remember playing this game when I was younger and felt really frustrated because the gameplay was too punishing and unlike other FPS games where you could just rush and be careless, this game was totally different. I will forever remember this game as my first hardcore FPS experience.

The last mission is too hard,like i can't figure out how to do it and when i try again and again i finally done it

after 1 month of research, I finally found my first childhood shooting game when i was 5/6 years, I just remember the diagram with the stars at the end of the missions, so many memories, I thought it was the most realistic game 🤣

This was my first ever battle field game and I haven’t missed out on any of the ones after this masterpiece
One of my childhood's favorite! I remember when Cod4:Modern Warfare came out, I always thought COD4 is a copying this game, since this one is called Modern Combat, and it came out 2 years earlier than Cod4. And I really love how smooth and cool it was when you switch characters

like the mechanic to swap trough units is crucial in end game mission when you have only 5 minute to complete 3 objective far away from each other. that was unique

EA never used this feature in other battlefiled titles
They had a variation of it in the prologue mission of BF1 where you would swap from one soldier to the next upon death. But that's about it.
na primeira missão tem um jeito pra pegar o helicoptero, chega perto da refinaria após ter destruido os 2 tanques do outro lado da cidade e troca pro engenheiro que está no topo da refinaria, irá spawnar um helicoptero do lado direito do mapa, quase saindo da zona de combate, se tu atirar de escopeta no piloto tem uma chance de dar hit kill, aí é só trocar pra outro engenheiro, ir la rápido no helicoptero, concertar e zuar no resto da missão
Nossa kkkk isso só é pra quem jogava o jogo mesmo kkkkk lembro na missão de sniper de dia tu matava o piloto no ar e antes que o helicoptero caisse tu pegava ele kkkk
That hotswap mechanic has so much potential. I'm surprised no other games have really utilized something similar

There is something different about this game during it's date... The sound design is pretty much spot on. And the firing mechanic really has a weight to it, it's shouldn't be a surprise that a battlefield game would nail this, though.

Used to play this on 360 was a great game with a lot of maps. Eventually everyone just played backstab and bridge too far

Ah the goold old times, I remember smashing probable world records on some missions, for example this one I clearly remember hitting under 1 minute (considering I already knew the whole level to every detail) definitely one of my favourite games on ps2.

The good old days, my christmas gift was the PS2 Slim version with fifa world cup 2006 and this game, only knowing the basic terms in english and still reaching the third mission frustrated AF.
