Was pumped when I saw that you were reacting to this one….Beyond the realms of death is a must listen as well man!!! Hellion/electric eye great as well!
You have to take into account that this was from 1977 and for its time this was a very hard hitting, pure heavy metal song that could also be seen as a precursor to the definitive heavy metal album that Priest released in the 1970s, Stained Class with songs like Exciter, Stained Class, Saints In Hell, Savage,White Heat Red Hot, Beyond The Realms Of Death,Heroes End. Of course, Sin After Sin itself has some other strong songs like Let us Prey/Call For The Priest, Sin After Sin, the powerful, dramatic ballad Here Come The Tears, Starbreaker and Raw Deal
1977. Priest invented key aspects of metal -- you hear them on this song: double base, driving 16th notes, flying screams and wicked, distorted guitar work. The production quality in the first few albums wasn't what it would become in later albums. But you can hear even here that is it is kickin' song. Decades later, Judas Priest won the 2010 Best Live Metal Performance Grammy for their live performance of this song on Touch of Evil Live. Check it out. 33 years after 1977, the production quality brings out the greatness of this song. Check out Rapid Fire live (ruclips.net/video/1LJLyU6H0jI/видео.html), too: That song was a revolution in sound in 1980.
This song was covered by Slayer and Halestorm... 'Sin after sin' was Judas Priest's 3rd album in 1977, coming on the heels of 2 low budget records... it was their debut record for American label CBS/ Columbia. Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover produced the album... Priest fired the drummer Alan Moore and had to enlist session drummer Simon Phillips for the album (drummer Les Binks joined for the tour), so the record was a bit chaotic, but pushed the progression of Judas Priest for sure... Phillips put in double bass drumming on the record and pushed the speed and intensity of Priest's music on that record.
I'm not even a little impressed by Slayer's cover, but I've herd some *insanely* good live vocals by Lzzy Hale. She slaughters this tune, at least in the live performances I've heard.
This is a good classic song from Priest about the Berlin wall, just a bit too short to be satisfied. For more fun with Priest here are a few song suggestions: "Take on the World" from Killing Machine, "Beyond the Realms of Death" from Stained Class, "Rapid Fire" and "Steeler" from British Steel, "The Heliion" with "Electic Eye" from Screaming for Vengeance, "All Guns Blazing", "Metal Meltdown" and "Night Crawler" from Painkiller, "Sea of Red" from Firepower.
Yeah this is fantastic, SLAYER did a AWSOME cover version. You got to react to Slayer starting with there first album🤘🤘🤘 Judas Priest BRITISH STEEL ALBUM!!!!!! Metal Gods and Breaking the law, You will LOVE!!!!!!!
I grew up with it. IMHO theie best album was released in the U.S. as Hell Bent for Leather. Delivering the Goods, Burnin' Up, Killing Machine. Beyond the Realms of Death off Stained Class starts off balladish but has 2 of the best guitar solo's of the hard rock/classic metal era.
One of the things I like the most about Priest is the way they reinvented themselves - they are one of the forefathers of metal, dating back almost as far as Black Sabbath (and also hailing from Birmingham), but by the late eighties they'd kind of lost their way a bit - they got too commercial in my view, a bit too poppy and seemed to have forgotten their metal roots. Then - BANG!!! - they released Painkiller, an album more metal than the bottom half of the periodic table. I know you've got people (sensibly) on here suggesting you go through their entire catalogue from start to finish, but I also hear you saying you're looking for "that song", or "that moment" - if you listen to the entire Painkiller album, from start to finish you will find it. They're all bangers.
You're looking for "Screaming For Vengeance" the track. My favorite banger from Priest is Ram It Down but that's more overall energy than raw power like Screaming or Painkiller. If you want another song that sounds like Priest , react to Racer X- Superheroes
@@Hurm1t Yes, this was recorded in 76 and Painkiller in 90.But don't worry at all, there is still too much Priest to react to and I'm sure you're gonna love some of their songs, specially those which are in the Painkiller album, they have that thing that you need on Priest
An alight Priest song. If you can, go in order of their discography. I know you are getting requests that are all over the place of their discography. Just will be harder to see how they changed from album to album.
@@frankj10000 It's because he didn't like Rock a Rolla just like many other Judas Priest fans. Sad Wings for me starts where I like Judas Priest, even though I like the songs of the early albums on Unleashed in the East better.
I've seen JP, while it was loud, it was nothing compared to Motörhead, a show they did in Cleveland was so loud plaster was falling off the ceiling, so I'm thinking your friend in HS was exaggerating just a little, lol 😉
the brilliant Simon Phillips on drums

You need to hear "Beyond The Realms Of Death". It contains Glenn Tipton's best recorded solo!

in 1977 NOBODY sounded like this. Truly pioneers that influenced generations to come
Was there another Metal band in '77? You could mention Sabbath, but to me that was extremely heavy 'rock'. An important distinction!

definitely check out Starbreaker, Let us Pray and Diamonds and rust from this album.
Dude. This is 1977. Not sure what you expected.
Time to dig out "Sin After Sin" and yes, Simon Phillips
On drums.
I Alway's Left Show's In The 80's Deaf And Ear's Ringing The Next Day At School.Kiss,Priest,Ac/dc Were Some Of Them That Were Guilty ..I LOVED IT !!!
Maybe the first Trash Metal song ever. Dude...1977. Where the Hell were we then??? Tis is pure fantasy out of its time.
"Thrash". Get it right, coz it don't look too good!

First thrash song IMO.
Screaming for Vengeance or Rapid Fire 🔥 are Judas Priest bangers maybe one will melt your face off!!!
The heaviest songs ever.

Dude, the song is from 1977.
This album and "Stained Class" are remarkably timeless. A shame they lost their way after "Screaming For Vengeance".
Didn't Painkiller show you that point that you was expecting for?
this was recorded before Painkiller I believe

I don't know. He didn't even finish the first album. Maybe '70s Priest just isn't exactly his cup of tea.

You should check this one out live from the Touch of Evil album. It just another beast!
Live performance is better!
You will never be a Judas Priest fan, so go look for that "thing" somewhere else. If you want volume, go to an airport or something.
Nah I don't think I will 🤣🤣

I hope you enjoy todays Judas Priest reaction. I made it just for you 😘😉
