So, to explain The Lore of Six Samurai: The original Six and related cards are pretty straightforward and serve essentially as the framework from which the rest of the story follows. It's six dudes who serve their shogun, and also a few others who act in supporting roles behind the front lines. The Legendary Six is essentially a prequel, with Shien (back then known as Shi En) along with the support gang from the original archetype back in their glory days (and back when Kageki/Chamberlain still had his original arms). Shien's Advisor was from that era, with Elder of the Six Samurai being the same guy, but much older. Spirit of the Six is because Shinai was killed in a sacrifice play (as implied by Shinai's effect), and Mizuho, heartbroken, joined the Japanese equivalent of a nunnery to become Hand (there's a pretty dark significance to the fact that Mizuho couldn't tribute herself, but Hand can, if you consider the implications of that). Kagemusha eventually becomes Shadow of the Six Samurai and is also Kagemusha of the Blue Flame (Kagemusha likely represents his time during the period when Shien was Tenkabito Shien, prior to his becoming Great Shogun), and in a storyline that takes place across a dozen or so largely unrelated spell and trap cards, Shadow betrays and kills Shien, presumably to take his place. It's unknown how well the plan worked out, precisely, but it leads right into the Secret Six Samurai, who serve either Shadow, or whatever other authority filled the vacuum in Shien's absence. Given that they transitioned from samurai to ninja, one can assume that Shadow played to his personal strengths and took the whole operation underground when he found he couldn't keep Shien's empire together on his own. Legendary Secret of the Six Samurai is Shien's ghost, now suffering the same fate to which he'd once consigned Shinai. It's also possible that the Secret Six and normal Six coexisted, and it's just that the Secret Six sided with Shadow, which is why Legendary Secret specifies their sub-archetype (only they know that Shien is dead), and that Shadow took over seamlessly. Also, Shien's Daredevil was eventually informed of the archetype's actual playstyle and become Battle Shogun, though it's unclear which time period he belongs to (given he was loyal to Shien and Daredevil came out alongside Advisor, and that he becomes a general and not some sort of ninja master, it seems likely that Daredevil was from the Legendary era and thus Battle Shogun was contemporary with the original set).

I always thought the Superheavy Samurai were also part of this Archetype, but I guess not. Can't risk getting an *EXTRA THICC* Shien into the game...
Anyways, happy birthday, Rata!
Let's just be glad that Hatsume wasn't the lv 4 Secret Six. Otherwise....
*distorted laughter in Frog*
very true
Should've called the first set "Six Samurai", the second set "Six Sci-Fi Samurai", and the third set "Just Naruto Ninjas, Actually".
Love the video dude. Happy birthday! To all of us too, apparently. Thanks for putting in the work for another AA, I know how taxing they are. Looking forward to watching more streams on Twitch!
10:20 rogue tier kagemusha of the blue flame turbo confirmed?
You avoided making a "sick" of samurai joke somehow. I don't know if I respect you more or less because of that.
This was definitely worth the wait. Very well done 👍
Rata hated making this video so much he tries to murder us in the first 20 seconds.
What a nice lad
Happy birthday, Rata. Thank you for the present
And the prize for "archetype least qualified to be in duel links" goes to THESE GUYS. Seriously though there is trying to sell micro transactions but putting these guys in Duel links broke that games meta's spine and beat it with it.
Sounds like a Mortal Kombat fatality.
Honestly, that game's meta started going downhill with Cyber Angels. By the time Six Sams came around it was already a dumpster fire.
@@omegaxtrigun I don't play Duel Links (poor man's Yugioh imo), but surely you knew that they couldn't keep out strong cards forever. Even a card that's mediocre in the TCG/OCG has the potential to be borderline broken when under that game's format.
@@catisreckless4647 Why couldn't they keep them out? There's no reason why other than them being greedy.
@@catisreckless4647 And in reverse, very strong TCG cards may actually be garbage in Duel Links because the game evolves differently instead of going down the same path.
The six Sam link is so powerful it enables extra linking without the need of firewall dragon.
I honestly think that says more about Gateway than the Link Monster If we're being honest.
Im so glad you are back I love and have watched each one of your videos. You honestly made my day with this video thank you it must be an unimaginable amount of work to make these and thank you for it.
Cunning is obviously best used as a 200 iq counter in the six sam mirror match. how could you forget that🤔
Except Backs to the Wall is the objectively better choice.
Exchange to give it to your opponent, wipe their field, tjen when they play Backs to the Wall in desperation to recover, hit em with the *_B O T T O M L E S S_* to end their fucking career.
Just make sure you stock up on Backs to the Wall, since you'll be trading that for whatever garbage your opponent has in their hand and if you only have 1 you're fucked for the NEXT weeb you duel.
This is the deck that got me into YuGiOh. Thank you so much for covering it.
I almost didn´t remember I was subscribed to this channel.
Welp, wake up Rata new Six samurai support just got released.
(> ' O ')> OHHH! SAM-U-RAI~
Happy birthday dude glad your back on the RUclips Train
Thanks for the video Rata. Hopefully you have a good day. And rest well.
Nice video. I really love your Archetype Archive videos
1:48 Xehanort know a thing or two about Fashion. Did you saw his Goat Armor ? Pure FASHION my dude.
X-BLADE!
i don't remember the last time i watched something so entertaining. from writing to editing to explanations . everything was funny as hell. you r really good.
You done messed up the very important 500 atk gain text on gateway
When I read the description I thought it said "gains ∞ attack." Sigh one can dream
With how often the effect is used, it might as well be 00 attack.
@@deeeerock It essentially is infinite attack. Often Six Sam games ended with the Sam player getting to a loop and declaring they would put enough ATK something for an OTK so that you get on with the next game.
The madman is BACK and I love it! Thank you for doing Six Samurais, My Six Samurais deck was the only one that I was able to construct using booster packs only and I had fun using it..
Guys
He made this in a couple days since he found out we getting more six sams in DL.
Actually no, this had been in the works for a while, but Konami follows his Twitter, and they probably love him.
Disclaimer: This is just my headcanon, but I'd love for it to be true.
@@runningoncylinders3829 its not right to r/woosh for this situation but ive been subbed long enough to know it takes awhile for these to come about. Since first ep of legacy of the worthless.
@@Andres-hi7tp Well then well played humor sir. I concede defeat. I've been subbed for almost as long, like since the Nordics LotW video.
Thanks for making another wonderful video Rata. These always make my day when you release them.
wow, you really forgot the most important card: Shien's Spy
Kappa
in all seriousness, happy birthday and i hope you keep doing well in everything.
Shien's spy tier 0 ftk
I've been waiting so long for another video I almost couldn't believe it when this showed up in my notifications. My body is ready.
14:37 I feel personally attacked
I was rather shocked when I discovered the Legendary Six samurai line-up are actually the PREQUEL of the originals
Kizan -> Grand master (the latter has the former's boosted stats and both share a summon condition)
Enishi and ... Chancellor (Both Banish 2 six sams from GY and have a removal effect)
Mizuho and Hand (both tribite a card to remove stuff)
Kageki and Chamberlain (Hand guy...)
Shinai and Spirit (since he died)
Shien and... well, Shi En
Just when I thought today couldn't get any better
I was in my peak of playing yugioh during the period where six sams were tearing apart the meta. I remember buying two storm of ragnarok booster boxes plus singles after to make the deck ( ended up opening 2 ghost odins as well, back then I thought they were worth a fortune ) , and proceeded to top multiple times at my locals, also destroying low ranks on dueling network . I have the deck to this day and even though I am nowhere near as involved with the game as I was back then i still save up money to update it every once in a while for the sake of nostalgia, along with my other favorite deck, gkeepers. WHICH YOU SHOULD TOTALLY MAKE AN ARCHIVE FOR !!
Seriously though, good video as always, thanks for taking me back to an older time.
Shien's Adopted Child ? Death Flame ?
Sudoku is my favorite card game.
Glad to see another Archetype Archive! They're so informative and the jokes you intersperse are amazing.
So now this archtype is running rampant in duel links. Seems rata can predict the future
Welcome back Rata I’m glad you finally did all my favorite archetypes!
Excuse me while I have Nam flashbacks about ftks and six sams.
*nam. As in Vietnam
i wish i could om nom nom ftks
have you seen the baseball kid red/blue burn loop they can do with gateway + starter set up + isolde for baseball kid
*Sam flashbacks. :^)
*curls into fetus position after remembering numerous first turn swarm lockdown with Shi End and Shogun*
I legit missed your videos. Since my only experience with the game since gradeschool has been Duel Links, I like watching your unique brand of informative videoes to learn about archetypes and possible deck builds. Here's hoping for another video before the end of the year!
Still waiting for my Ojama Lime animated series btw
Yes he came back from the six samurai portal
Happy birthday Rata, thanks for the content
REJOICE
For Rata has returned, but more importantly, that means more Ojama Green lore.
Glad to hear that you're not sounding so down anymore, and you're back into your 'groove' of hilarious content.
Also, Karakuri's maybe?
*fires Six Samurai, while also screaming unholily*
Six Samurais is one of my favorite decks and I ;love theme around it: Sengoku Era Samurai with a cybernetic style. The story and lore around all the cards tells an interesting story (especially with the relationship between Mizuho and Kagemusha is not explained) and I wish that Konami would publish said story or animate it in a traditional Japanese style. But, at best, they'd probably make a pachinko machine based on the Six Sams.
Oh, and I hope you had a wonderful birthday Rata.
Loved these guys since day one, one of my top favorites along with Gladiator Beast, Ancient Gears, Batteryman and Aliens.
Great video and it's great seeing you back making videos!
I hope the six samurai never die. I love this archetype. I loved Ice Barriers too but they can’t keep up with the times which really pissed me off. If I can’t have my ice barriers then at least let me keep my samurai.
Love this series btw. Good work bro!
Rata has a new video. Best birthday present.
Still waiting for "depressed Serbian man talks about gladiator beasts"
happy birthday rata. what a gift you have given us!!
If I remember correctly, "Kagemusha of the Blue Flame" ends up becoming "Kagemusha of the Six Samurai" in the lore
He did refer to OCG volume 1 in the video, as well as a pic of kagemusha, so I think it's safe to say he knows this little fact.
Which become legendary six samuraïs shi en after that.
Yep. Then he became Shadow Of The Six Samurai.
*"Kagemusha" translates to "Body Double"*
@@RevRa-3 So he's "Shien's Body Double" as a Normal Monster. Sounds a _lot_ cooler than its mistranslation.
@@somepony13 Actually, "Shien" does translate to "Blue Flame" so the wonky translation still works
Six Samurais are my favorite archetype of all time. I’m glad you did this video.
