Well, the 200,000 white people moving to Rhodesia made it a successful mixed economy. Come black rule as Zimbabwe in 1980 the new regime tripled public spending and wages for state employees while nationalising -- and ruining -- successful businesses and the important agricultural sector. Corruption was rampant also. The white minority fled Zimbabwe in huge numbers and the state became dependent on foreign aid. More white people for African countries would improve them?
One of the few reasonable but honest voices presenting a well articulated commentary. I live in Germany and see a huge rise in black people here. Demographic factors obviously are a factor but I can't help but think in 20 years time all the same problems will happen as we have seen in UK for example. The media plays a huge role in this as , through adverts and programming they seek to socially condition the population to the inevitably of larger black and minority representation.
The reason their populations are exploding is because of Western aid and medicine. Withdraw it and their populations will stabilise in a couple of generations. What we must not do is allow them to come here.

The perils of Marxism-Leninism. Colonialism is made out to be this terrible thing, when actually, it gave African countries a great starting point to build on, unfortunately when they got their independence, it all went downhill from there, and here we are another country with all the natural resources that they need to make it successful country and extremely rich country, but it’s now Declining into anarchy. it is a very sad thing to see happen, because Africa is an amazing continent, and if they could just manage their countries correctly and keep crime down to a minimum, they would make billions a year from tourism alone. There are many decent African people that I know personally, that hate the way their country is being destroyed and would welcome help from Europeans to get it back on track and keep it that way. It’s not racist to want to help a country flourish and in turn make it a good place to live for the good, decent people who live there and not let it descend into chaos and allow criminals to take over.

I read a book called Why Nations Fail. It said Botswana was an African country that was doing alright, with a corruption index and standard of living similar to the Czech Republic. Other than Botswana none of the African countries were doing great. The authors blamed the legacy of colonialism in part. He said the colonialists set up marketing boards, which were extractive. When the colonialists left the new elite took over the marketing boards. The authors said the main reason nations fail is basically nepotism and corruption. The elites know what they have to do to improve living standards for their people, but it would mean them losing power. The American Dream was that anybody from any background could become rich and successful by talent, drive and being prepared to take risks. The courts would stop vested interests from blocking them. In many countries a young entrepreneur with a new business might threaten the interests of a supporter of the ruler. The ruler's own position may not be very legitimate and he depends on his supporters for power. Thus the entrepreneur gets closed down.
Your point about the elites knowing what they have to do to improve the lives of the people, but doing so means giving up their own power is true everywhere. It's certainly true here where the political class prevents ordinary people getting involved and having any real influence over matters.

I’ve lived in Africa, there is no doubt in my mind that they need Europeans to help manage their country, it’s not racist, it just seems to be a cultural fact that unfortunately they are unable to keep a country stable.

Watching from Kenya, things are not okay
