I kinda knew you would appreciate the solo 😂 and pronouncing my name was okay 👍 correct way pronaunsing it (finnish way) would be with a long 'n' Nin-niJarv

POTF is a seasoned and very versatile rock/hard rock band. This wonderful song is from the album "Ghostlight", which is my favorite of Finnish albums in 2022. ⛄👍

I wouldn't really call them rock/hard rock anymore. But I guess it all depends on the definition used. They don't really "rock" anymore. They're older stuff is closer to that.

    • @pekkakarppinen1608
      @pekkakarppinen1608 7 месяцев назад

@@BigFry9591 Well, we can now call them melodic rock, if we really need some genre boundaries. As a Autumn person l like the melancholy of their doings a lot. Their new Alan Wake -oriented Old Gods of Asgarth album "Rebirth" can be easily described as metal (without ugly screaming of course). But "tilulilulilu" -guitars there are almost enough.

Haha, l'm just listening their "Alexander theatre acoustic sessions". It's excellent. The Alexander theater is the former Finnish national opera house. Now there's a new and much bigger venue for that. And their pseudonym Old Gods Of Asgarth's "Rebirth" (Alan Wake) album is one of the best metal albums of the 2023.

Alexande Theatre sessions is brilliant. "Angel" is one that was always meant to be performed the way they did there.

@@Garbox80 l just bought it, and now l'm listening it about every day. As a Autumn person this hits me so hard. It's so beautifully melancholic and beautiful. And they have their own very nice touch of things and everything. ⛄👍

Thank you! I had never actually seen the music video for this song. It was really interesting.
I love, love Marko's voice! And Poets have always such interesting stories. I have in the recent year fallen deeper and deeper into their music.

Lol @ rythmic theatrical metal 👌🏼 I saw them in Stockholm back in October. Marko has a beautiful voice, and their bassist was like an animated character on stage. They have an excellent catalogue of songs and their unplugged versions are just stellar. Great reaction, as always.

I’m so impressed with your critic of Poets of the Fall !!! They are such an amazing band, and need so much more recognition here in the United States.
If you’re not aware, they have an alter ego, Old Gods of Asgard, the fictitious band was created for a video game Alan Wake 1 &2. Check them out.

The song is about the tragedy of the harlequin (comedy of art, 15th century). He commits suicide out of heartbreak, but the Fates condemn him to entertain the public for money while his soul cries, performance after performance in an eternal loop. A metaphor for the actor trapped by his character.
    Nice song, it surprised me.

@@julle006 Honestly anything Old Gods is worth a listen to. Every song they've done is a banger. They really nail the old school rock vibe with some of those songs. The only down side is the songs are SO tied to being connected to the games, that I wonder if someone that doesn't play them with fully understand them. But regardless, stuff like 'Take Control' "Children of the Elder God" or "Balance slays the demon" are very much worth a listen to if nothing else (outside of Herald) since they're all the showstoppers of each game.

I love this song from the album "Ghostlight", however, my favorite song off of the album would have to be "Weaver of Dreams".
    It just hits me different.
That said -- the entire album is outstanding -- just like every other Poets of the Fall album.

I sent a link on a text to a Family group text I occasionally share music on (I've sent Carnival Of Rust and the Alexander Theater version of Angel before), and my Mom said "The music reminds me of Meatloaf for some reason." The theatrical bit, I think. Mom's certainly not a rocker, (Simon and Garfunkle, are about her rockingest, though she likes "Like A Rock" by Bob Seger) but I thought it was funny she made that connection.
