The labyrinth he is talking about is the story of the Minotaur from Greek mythology the men and women who went into the labyrinth were Athenian but they did not go in with double bit axes.

Are you lost? Gransfors makes tools, not weapons. Double bit axes have a long history of use as tools and no history of use as a weapon, so they were right.
