I really like how Gabriel is an observer..... other youtubers interact with people too aggressively and create situations that are not authentic. I really feel like I am seeing things as they are with Gabriel.
Hey Gabe, that rickshaw Driver's family was actually a hindu family whom you greeted with assalwalikum as she had sindhur on her head which is a sign of hindu married women 🕉 so you could have said Namaskar, anyways love watching your videos from west bengal 🇮🇳
Majority of Britain's 700,000 Bangladeshis are from Sylhet. When you go there, it might be worth asking locals if they have any family connections in the UK.
Another great video. This village seems to have a good life with their well-maintained homes and happy children. I see you are very close to the border with Tripura in India, a state that you need a rare special permit to visit, so you're kind of getting a twofer. By the way, when you go from Sylhet to Meghalaya there is a really noticeable physical change when the Meghalayan Plateau ruses up from the plains of Bangladesh. We were in Jaflong and there's a pretty river there that comes out of Meghalaya. You might be able to cross into India there. Keep the videos coming. This is all wonderful work. The government of Bangladesh should extend your visa as a way of saying thanks for the gift of great publicity that you are giving the country!
Really enjoyed this video. So lovely to see the children playing outside and they seemed so happy and carefree. Not stuck inside playing on devices. Such beautiful scenery! Very uplifting and enjoyable video!
I just want to say how awesome it is that to see how this channel has grown over the years and it seems crazy to think back 5 years ago you were working in Alaska to save up some extra cash to continue your travels and I feel like you haven’t had to do anything like that again since🙌🏽
For gabriel it took a while to make enough income from youtube. I think he was able to get enough in 2015 or 2016 from this and ever since it has been good. That happened when he became consistent with his youtube uploads. Ive seen other channels on youtube that were able to get monetized within a month or two! For some it even takes a long time to get to the point of monetization while others manage to get there fast
@@dreamthedream8929 Gabriel doesn't clickbait much and doesn't do crazy stuff (like giving away cash to locals, getting involved in drunken fights, getting arrested etc), so his number of views/ subscribers have been slow and steady. His vids appeal to genuine travelers. He could have gone through the sensationalist route but he didn't, and I (or we) like him for that.
@@kitty_s23456 well he has his own way. He usually doesnt go to english speaking countries much like australia, south africa and canada. So the language barrier is something to keep in mind and therefore his interactions with locals may be limited. Some travel youtube vloggers like kurt caz and bald and bankrupt went to places where they could use spanish or russian which resulted in more interactions on video with people in those places. Plus the style is different. Some of the other ones like kurt and bald usually show places where you dont wanna go but you watch for curiosity, adventure, entertainment and to see what kind of stuff will happen there. Gabriel usually shows places where to go however sometimes its also good to watch him to find out where not to go, like his india and morocco videos. Now gabriel is doing good with youtube, however for the first several years he was not able to get enougn income from it because he was not being consistent. Check out the travel channel called scenic relaxation. Its a pretty new faceless and voiceless channel and has grown a lot in the last 2 to 3 years. They have been consistent and their videos started doing well early on. They have been making good money from youtube alone now for a while. Consistency on youtube is important however there may be other factors involved there as well but thats another discussion. Finally im not sure what you mean by your statement about appealing to genuine travelers. Whats not genuine and what is? There are various parts of travel and some people are interested in some while others are not. I wish gabriel would cover more of wildlife, nature or animals in his videos as that is an important part of travel. For that i watch brave wilderness. And for better and more thorough tours and impressions of cities and their architecture i watch prowalk tours
@@HomeTravelGardenInspo Bangladesh is a not a hot travel destination among foreigners most of whom prefer to visit India, Nepal or SriLanka when they come to this part of the world. This Bangladesh series is the most interesting thing I have seen for some time,I ask myself why I have never really thought about this country and don't have an answer, very nice people .
Walking through a way of life so different than your own is always fascinating. You can hear how much Gabriel is invested in what the guide is saying, and the sights that open up as he goes along.

Hi Gabriel, the Lawachara National Park was an interesting area it was like going into the Amazon and finding tribal villages and find speak differently from the natives in Brazil. Of course, the major thing about these parks and forests there are so vital to the environment offering plants that are medicinally used in medicine or as a food source. I don't how you feel about going into China or even if you can go, I've seen videos on their incredible metro system and shopping malls that are some of the largest malls in the world.

There was more before I started filming. I was hesitant about going with the first guy because he didn't speak a word of English and I wasn't sure he understood what I wanted to do. So I was really glad the other guy came along, he was great.
Nice to see you in Bangladesh. I would meet you if I know you are in here. Place Bandarban is highly recommended for trekking. You should come again for Bandarban. Thanks again Gabriel.

There r two tribes mainly in Sylhet along with the bengali. Monipuree and khasi tribes with different languages and cultures. The Monipuree r mostly follows Hinduism, and some of them are muslim. The khasi people r mostly follows Christianity.
Wow this gave me flashbacks of my first trip in India when I was but a young lad of 16 years, visiting a rural village in Orissa (now called "Odisha"). This was back in 1984. Was taking a walk in the jungle on the outskirts of Titlagarh, along the train tracks. Very similar scenery, maybe bigger trees, except the train that came along was an old fashioned miniature steam locomotive. What a scene! I got spooked after a while when I realized I was very much alone in an area that must have been prime tiger territory... That area of Bangladesh must of tigers too? Or have they been driven to extinction now?
