- Charlie the shihtzu mix came in in big trouble! this old gal was in serious need of a clean up. Thankfully she loved every minute of her groom (well, except maybe the nail trim..) and left our shop with a new lease on life.

What size blade do you use for ears I’m doing a beginners course on dog grooming course Thankyou
Charlie here is a #7 Nose to toes, which means she’s the same length all over (ears included). This is usually for matted dogs or no-fuss owners. Many owners prefer longer ears though, so length will depend on the dog and owner preference! We usually hand scissor their ears or use a clipper comb to keep some length. There’s no “one size fits all”! Good luck with your course :)

Thanks for the feedback! She did have to go quite short this time to avoid matting between grooms and keep her cool for the summer.
