Awwww what a little cutie, border collies are my favourite dogs since I made friends with my neighbour's one. Joe is also quite unenthusiastic about being groomed unless it's just a brush gently stroking along his back, accomplishing a tiny amount of deshedding. He likes to accessorize with random twigs and grass and tiny spiders stuck in his fur (and the odd dingleberry!) but he also keeps himself decently clean without human help, like some sort of wild wolf lol. He apparently has a 'daily growl' with another neighbour's blind collie Roy, never leading to an actual fight, but he likes to visit his small group of 'girlfriend' collies who live up the hill, including one named Sam. Yay for smart, adorable fluffy weirdos with oddly human-sounding names! 💖
They are awesome dogs! Too smart for their own good. And yes you're right, grooming is pretty minimal for these guys - lucky for Robert E, because he hates it. At least he only needs to come endure a groom with us once every 3-4 months!
By border collie somehow manages to keep himself decently groomed for long periods of time, despite have free reign of our farm and all that entails lol. He'll walk in the door with muddy paws and 5 minutes later they're white as snow again.
