I was thinking about this today. It can be demoralizing and isolating. Tuning out and getting outside has been extremely beneficial to me. I don't vibe or fit in with this society but I most definitely do with nature. The trees aren't questioning their gender. The animals aren't rallying for any political ideologies. The breeze isn't whispering any nonsense. Just something to consider. I still get those feeling of "being over this" but I try to remember it's just the culture I'm over with. There's still a beautiful world out there no matter what nonsense takes place through our screens. Cheers
For some of us, we’ve lived in our heads, hearts & imagination our whole lives and society never felt at home or accepted us in the first place. So seeing it fall apart and descend to madness, seeing so many countless subtle & obvious feelings about things prove out over time (I was always rather suspicious of it all). Realizing I wasn’t paranoid enough. For me it’s almost comforting. My inner child was right to question these things. Society is indeed sick but we don’t need to take part in most of it. As others have said, I find nature and animals to be a better focus. That and creating music. The world is so magical when you go back into the woods. We have lots of mountains, woods, beaches, deserts and valleys in oregon to get lost in. Thankfully, there are countless free federal camping areas all over (without facilities). One could live just moving between those areas for nearly free. Which may be my retirement….

Because most actors have it - meaning they cannot live without the attention of other HUMANs (or supply). You saying anybody famous would just want to move away from the lime light doesn't apply for most famous people. A person with NPD will be 80+ and still act as 14 year old to get that supply. They wander the world soulless pretending to be someone, with no ability to introspect or find inner peace. So, having a lot of experience dealing with such people, I don't find it surprising that they would cling to that fame until death.

This condition is characterized by the need to control and get admiration of others, but not just anybody, they have specific people they need to be admired by. And, admired in very specific ways. His superior status of Actor among Actors is what gives him that supply. His greatest fear is the end of that brand. Also, people with NPD value their privacy because only in that privacy they feel safe and in control - for they live in a constant state of the world wants to get me. All this to say, I feel your assessment would change if you would look into this condition. Your point about them being miserable, is valid also - because they are miserable people in between moments where they put on a mask to look happy (it's a fake happy as they are dead inside). I’m thinking the biting medal thing is connected to the gold rush thing where old timers used to bite the medal to determine if it was real or not. It’s probably a subtle creepy thing to garner trust from the public. As if to say it’s a funny thing to do because these medals are the real deal and the Olympics itself is legitimate.

What I found interesting about this Olympics is all of the celebrities that were there 🤔. That's never been a part of any other Olympics. Another strange thing was the viral characters that came out of this Olympics. Raygun, Turkish shooter, Steve the pummel horse guy, the Korean female shooter, etc... Never before have any of these things been a thing! Also, why didn't France include any actual French singers in the opening and closing ceremonies instead of pulling all these Americans 🤔 🙃

As for the Gymnastics, I know it's often controversial but is there a bit of a gas lighting Mandela thing going on? One of the commentators said after another team official made an appeal to a judge (several had happened) "it's not unusual for an appeal there are lots of them". But growing up on Olympics and Commonwealth Games now in my early 40s, I don't remember that as a thing. Maybe a newer thing.

Even at the "tender" age of 13 when "Breakin'" came out that summer of '84, I knew from the flood of TV preview commercials it was a movie pushing corporate, liberal objectives and I hated it. Break dancing was a pretty amazing thing and I watched tons of it at local "get togethers" with my HOME girls in NJ...lots of cute guys who were very talented!!
You can't completely get rid of umpires in baseball: some calls have to be made in real time because it affects the rest of the play-- you can't call the play dead to wait for an instant replay review. An example: bottom of the 9th, home team down by 1 run but has the bases loaded with 2 outs. The batter hits a grounder to the shortshop who fields it, but it seemingly grazes the runner first; however, replay shows it didn't. Per rule, the umpire calls the runner out (based on his real-time judgment) and it's a dead ball, and being the 3rd out, the game instantly ends. The team in the field celebrates and the runners of the visiting team on base stop since it's a dead ball plus the game is seemingly over. Having replay overturn the call would be a mess-- the ball was hit in play on the ground, so all runners are forced to advance to the next base and the batter must reach 1st base safely or it's the 3rd out and the game is over. The shortstop fielded it, but you can't assume any out because errors happen. Likewise, you can't assume any run would have scored from the batter reaching 1st base safely. You can't just reset everything, pretend it never happened, and send the batter back to bat with the count what it was before-- the guy hit the ball in play. There are some scenarios in baseball that arent subject to replay review. This is likely one of them.
