    Old tractors look so much better than the new ones....

    More proof that the Leyland tractors were, still are and always will be good tractors as well as somewhat ahead of their time back when you could still buy them new.
    Grandparents had a 2400+ acre farm and they transitioned from Farmall to Leyland starting in the early 1970's and those tractors were still in use up until my Grandfather's passing in 2006 in the upper midwest in the USA which meant dealing with extreme cold to extreme heat and humidity in the summer.
    Looks like I may now have an opportunity to get my hands on a 255 w/cab for possible restore project and seeing this helps a lot.
    COOL video and thanks for posting this! :-)

      Thank you we really like our Leylands the first Leyland we had was a 270. I always wanted a 6cyl so I bought myself a 285 thats the one in this video. Leylands and a very underestimated tractor with great traction for field work. If you like seeing leylands working subscribe to my channel and you won’t miss out I have a few videos of them working.

    Takes me back 40 years but that’s very modern as pulled the trailer behind the chopper and ours had manual spout controls

      Think our 717 is later type with elc controls

    Plume out rear mount exhaust looks awesome.

      It's interesting looking at that. Although much maligned, that design of the Leyland is well ahead on the Ford. No exhaust or big pre cleaner up through the bonnet, a slimmer roof, leading to a higher windscreen & better vision.

    Great video. its a pity about the 2 knob heads driving the poor ford's like idiots on the bumpy ground going in to the 2nd field.good way to dislodge the axle berrings

    What do you think the 4000 would make of the 717.. Give her a tweak to 70 on the shaft and she may just give it a go,,

    • @1394db
      @1394db 4 года назад +1

      She might need a turbo for that

    • @alanchatfield5533
      @alanchatfield5533 4 года назад +1

      @@1394db yea she would be on her knees big time. And probably just block up.. A turbo would make her half of a tw 20 😂, so about 80 ish on the shaft

    • @MASSYMADMAN
      @MASSYMADMAN  4 года назад

      Alan Chatfield think she would struggle abit I’ve seen a 6600 on a 719 but it was struggling

    • @alanchatfield5533
      @alanchatfield5533 4 года назад +1

      @@MASSYMADMAN they were wonderful days, I wish we could all go back, a 6600 is about 75 I think, the next tractor I would love to see on your new holland would be a tw10, no turbo,, just the straight 126hp,, would give the layland something to chase 😂

    • @1394db
      @1394db 4 года назад +2

      Looking at the difference between the 285 and 7000, 285 looked to be running it alot easier than the 7000 which on paper has more power
